......in the hi-way driving, how many miles do you get in the full tank?

 

I'm sure depending on big is your engine, V8 could be less miles?

Ultralite, 2 liter engine, 13 gallons, about 250 to 300 miles, but I never let it get that low, I generally refuel at 200 220 miles.

5 gallons. Don't know exactly how far as I don't have a speedometer. I fill up every couple of hours or so. Probably about 100ish miles?

Seriously? That's the best excuse you have? Everybody is ready for a peee after 80 miles. At the very least, a good stretch and much-needed scratching of the ol' arse. :smilielol5:

Assuming I have the standard 44 liter tank like other SVs then that is 11.6 gallons. I have gone a little over 300 miles on a tank on a road trip but usually fill up at 275 to 280 miles. Highway mileage is 30 - 32 mpg depending on cruising speed. Around town it is 24 - 26 mpg depending on how many G-force fixes I give myself.

 

My fuel range far exceeds my bladder range so I stop about every 100 - 150 miles. My back also appreciates the frequent stops to stretch a bit.

Depends which vehicle we are in....

 

My '92 Dodge Ramcharger 4 x 4 does about 20 mpg on the highway with the cruise at 65 mph. That leaves looking for fuel around 600 miles....34 gal tank.

 

Our '95 BMW 325 IC is a bit easier on bladder control, about 400 miles with the 18 (I think) gal tank.

 

It won't be fuel necessitating stops once the motorhome is complete.... 125 gal Freightliner tank. Assuming we get close to the predicted 20 mpg with our Cummins motor that's north of 2000 miles between fuel stops. Of course having a bathroom on board for Rosemarie means it will likely be my but cheeks screaming for mercy, even with the air ride seats, or meal stops.

Paul, you need a massaging driver seat. Maybe out of a Mercedes or BMW.

 

I usually fill up my 7 around 250 mi since the gauge doesn't read accurate under 1/4 tank. MPG depends on incline, head winds and lead foot.

 

Looks like audi has better massaging seats.

Less than 100 miles spirited driving before I suffer fuel starvation on right handers.

Despite these numbers like some of you have mentioned the float on my bladder sometimes moves faster up than the one in the fuel tank moves down necessitating a premature pitstop!

My understanding is that my Caterham SV (1.8 Rover K) has a fuel tank of 9.1 imperial gallons (41.4 litres). As I generally get 38mpg when touring that would give me a theoretical range of 345 miles - but not all of the fuel in the tank is usable. I tend to refill at about the 250 mile mark to be on the safe side.

I have a seven gallon tank in my caterham with a ~210 horsepower zetec. I get around 110 miles driving on back roads, close to 150 on an all-freeway drive.

7.5 gallons and no fuel gauge means that I stop and fill every 125 miles.

 

Plus having a fuel cell means that there is no sputtering or starvation till it runs completely dry - ask me how I know :-(

i experienced that phenomenon myself, only i was quite lucky in that a gas station came into view just as i ran out of fuel. i coasted into the station and only had to push the car about 15 feet to the pump.
