Superformance new USA Caterham Distributor
lucky dawg replied to Kess's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I think that even if Caterham sales in the US were to triple (not too likely) it would still be a rare event to see another one while out driving. -

Any marketing effort and budget in the US will be an increase over recent years. I am looking forward to the possibility of more Caterham awareness. -

Dave - Beachman Racing was the dealer and builder of my CSR. In the Northwest he is well known for his support of Caterhams. If you have not already had the chance, you can see some of his info by reading his prior posts on the USA7s forum. -

I just looked at the CaterhamUSA site and the "Retailers" tab is not currently there. I am not much of a geographer, but I think your closest dealer choices would be Beachman Racing near Seattle (beachmanracing@mac.com) or Jon at the former distributor in Denver. -

I think the roller/kit market is so small and off the Fed radar, that they will continue to leave it a local (state) issue. -
I have a set that I removed from my CSR, PM me if you are interested. Note that Caterham has two types of four point belts, so make sure you know which one you are looking for.

It has been several years since Superformance had their own 7 clone. Beachman Racing is the dealer I bought my CSR through two years ago. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and build quality. If you want info on his Caterham background, do a search on this site of his name or for Thunderhill. -

Having a full time organization to distribute Caterhams could be a big step forward in the US. They may even have a marketing budget. -
Before buying any used car, always go to the National Insurance Crime Bureau webiste https://www.nicb.org/. It has a free database of cars totaled by member insurance companies caused by flood damages or unrecovered theft. This car was not listed, likely due to the nonstandard VIN.

If she gets in your 7, you don't have to worry about her clothes scratching anything. Though taking the wet boots off would be appreciated.

CSR with non-Cossie Duratech

Beachman Racing was the builder of my CSR. If you wonder about his Caterham background or credentials, check this post http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showpost.php?p=38970&postcount=16 and thread from a few years ago http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=4489. Here is his display at this year's Seattle Int'l Auto Show: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/AutoShow4_zps848f798d.jpg -
keeping the lies straight is so hard.
lucky dawg replied to slngsht's topic in Politics, Religion and Controversy
Actually, the refusal to enforce and weakening of laws regarding financial institutions and the IRS is what caused the worst economic crash in almost 100 years. This predates the current administration (baby Bush was working on the TARP before he left office.) Sorry for the reality check. As for your statement "... 10X worse for our republic than any war ..." there are thousands of families whose husbands, sons, daughters, etc. died in those wars. They may disagree with you even more than I. -

Far, far better than "We Have Proof of Weapons Of Mass Destruction". How many thousands of lives and billions of $ has that cost? Still costing? Just trying to put things in a little perspective. -
That would be a great, though few could afford to do so for very long. I would prefer the only government involvement to be making sure coverage is available to everyone who chooses to get it. And those who knowingly elect not to, are on their own; no more requirement that hospitals and doctors must treat some people for free. Can't get much more conservative than this.
-
And how has that idea worked out over the last several decades? My preference has just two steps to it: 1) Make affordable health coverage available to everyone; 2) Anyone that declines coverage signs a waiver acknowledging personal responsibility for all medical costs they incur and may not receive treatment (including catastrophic or ER) until payment arrangements are made. Bleeding out at the hospital driveway is a realistic possibility. Subsidies for those who cannot afford coverage would still be less than the what service providers (doctors, hospitals, ambulances, etc) currently write off and then pass on to those who do pay.

The Supreme Court disagreed with your analysis and ruled the ACA is constitutional.
-
The irony of all of this is that after all the political issues finally settled, it came down to a software problem.
-
For those who don't understand the Affordable Care Act: 1. It is not a government run health program (unlike Medicare & VA); 2. It's primary objective is the requirement that everyone have health insurance, which is provided by insurance companies (similar to states requiring that you have liability insurance on your car); 3. There are no government death squads (maybe in the CIA or NSA but not the ACA); 4. We (taxpayers) are already providing expensive subsidies to uninsureds every time they show up at an ER, call 911 for a minor injury, or skip preventative care and we pay for the worse result; 5. Many of the people I have met that are complaining the loudest are on Medicare and love their government provided insurance. This just makes no sense unless Fox or talk radio is their primary source of news (see #1). I hope this helps.

R&T article on Caterham's future

You can also buy a Porsche for less than a Lambo, a Corvette for less than a Porsche, a Mustang GT for less than a 'vette, etc. You can argue price, value and performance all you want, but in the end the choice comes down to personal preferences. Otherwise, there would be no reason for replica 7s. -
Not sure which 7 you have, if a Caterham, just check the original order form since the lsd is an extra cost option. If you do not have access to the invoice, Caterham US might.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Seattle Auto Show and said hi. Judging by the visitors at the Caterham/Beachman Racing booth (the Northwest Caterham dealer beachmanracing@mac.com ), our five days there were a great success. A surprising number of people who knew about the cars and now many more potential converts. As you can see from the photos, our cars fit in just fine next to the BMWs and Nissans. http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/AutoShow4_zps648311c3.jpg http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y44/c5dawg/AutoShow3_zpsdc8af8a8.jpg

Same place, but your link saves a step and works. Thank you.

The Auto Show section of today's Seattle Times had a nice Caterham photo: http://www.seattleautoshow.com/times/#/30/. Good to see our marque get some mention. Anyone here planning to be at the show? If so, please stop by the display (northeast side of the main floor) and say hi.

Has anyone else had difficulty accessing the CSR Forum http://www.csr7.com/ lately? Wondering if this is a temporary problem or if the site admin got tired of it and did not renew.

Exactly the reason I asked if the car was still in WA for a reinspection.
