  1. Thanks, Good data on that link. I have also gotten info on trigger wheels and sensors from WEBCON http://www.webcon.co.uk/shop/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=143&cat=Ford It looks to solve the problem of mounting the trigger wheel and sensor.
  2. McMaster-Carr is a good industrial supplier. Look them up online and look for "raw materials" You should be able to find a thickness that works in a 12 in x 12 in sheet. They also have descriprions of the material applications. "Resists petroleum" or similar descriptions of gasoline should work.
  3. Y'all are giving me great feedback! The car is new to me, so I should do a compression check. I think the motor is in good shape and the ODO has less than 6000 miles, so I'm looking for some good numbers psi wise. What should I be looking for? I'm not sure the distributor can be completely removed, doesn't it also drive the oil pump? Thanks, Carl
  4. John, Thanks for the link. I have put in a request for more information. I have been looking around in my area and found a tuner with a chassis dyno. He has done some ECU mapping. He indicated that some pre-configuration is a big help in dialing things in. Best regards, Carl
  5. I am looking into replacing the Weber's with fuel injection for better emission control. I've found two packages with throttle bodies, injectors, ECU and other hardware. These are spec'ed for a 1700 crossflow. 2 questions... 1) Anyone have any experience with systems like this? 2) How much different is the 1600 from the 1700 Here are links I have found. http://www.burtonpower.com/parts-by-fitment-type/parts-by-engine-ford/ford-cross-flow-kent/weber-alpha-throttle-body-management-kit-x-flow-1-7-webk99019.html http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/Omex%20General%20TB%20Kit%20v1_00.pdf
  6. What DOT number are these brake fluids (3, 4, or 5) I changed my '80 Dodge Colt over to DOT 5 (silicone) fluid and never had to change any system parts other than front pads. I traded the car with 212k miles. It does not attract moisture but it is not compatible with some seals.
  7. My wife is drinking the stuff tomorrow, should I show her this before or after?
  8. Have you installed this header yet? Is it one tube at a time, and is it the same configuration as the previous system?
  9. The carbs are 40 DCOE 151 according to the original spec sheet. I believe this is correct. This is the car when it was for sale in 2007 with less than 3000 miles. http://www.classiccarsltd.com/modules/auto/detail.php?id=388
  10. Any ideas on adjusting DCOE's for tailpipe test? My mechanic can get the idle to pass but the 2500 rpm is in the middle stage of the carb. I need suggestions on lowering the HC numbers. Any tips? Preferably tricks that do not require different jets.:bigear:
  11. Call the Ghost Busters! Thanks for the reminder about eye protection.
  12. My 1995 Caterham chassis also has the parking brake located on the firewall. This one is a RHD, so the laver is in the left side. It may have been some Federal regulation the moved the lever between the seats. Carl
  13. Are there any emission equipment on the motor, EGR or CAT to help with tail pipe test in the Atlanta area?
