    In my 20 years of SCCA corner working, I saw a few flying objects. The rear body work of a Lola T600 flew off at top speed. It would have cleared a 3 story house and fortunately landed in a service area. A loose wheel destroyed a corner workers cooler @ turn 2, and a motorcycle landed on TOP of the turn 3 corner station.

    How long did the last before it broke? (mileage) Lotus didn't make parts to last forever. If lasted 10 or 20k, it may take some time to rack up those kind of miles.

    The fact that media person was the unfortunate target of a errant wheel should not be the only reason for banning media from pit lane. That wheel could have hit anyone. There must be more to it than that.

    Several years ago I had a conversation about projector headlights with a Hella technical representitive. He indicated the drivers of the Acura model with them were his best customers. Wattage is one thing, but reflector area is a key factor.

    I had my exhaust modified to move the exit to behind the rear wheel and point to the curb. It seems to have lowered my preception of sound level. If you're going to get things worked on, fresh parts should help.

    If you do not have tail pipe testing you should be OK. I don't think there any unusual requirements. Good luck!

    After much fettleing with correcting the mistaken addition of a catylitic convertor, I'm moving on to installing the manifold and carb Darrell has loaned me. The engineer in me wants to know more about what's going on with the mixture. I have looked at several A/F gage kits and I'm thinking it would provide me some readings on the how fuel is burning. Has anyone used a lamda sensor (A/F gage) this way?
