In GA, it depends on where the car is registered. If it is in the metro Atlanta area it will need to pass some level of emissions. If the car is registered outside this area, or is over 25 years old, no testing is required. A "kit car" is based on the motor configuration, and a simple test is specified. My car has not passed yet. Webers are NOT designed to be clean, but to make POWER! I am currently looking into conversion to FI to meet these requirements.

Unfortunately the only think you find in the "middle of the road" these days is roadkill. That said, I lean towards the left lane.

Have you noticed any changes in fluid colors? (Oil and coolant) Increased fuel consumption?

Did the Omex ECU control the spark only or was the car equiped with FI?

To get more heat to exit the front of the car, I'm looking for sources for heat resistant and insulating materials to cover the header on my crossflow. Please lost links. :bigear: Thanks, Carl

Thanks, Good data on that link. I have also gotten info on trigger wheels and sensors from WEBCON http://www.webcon.co.uk/shop/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=143&cat=Ford It looks to solve the problem of mounting the trigger wheel and sensor.

McMaster-Carr is a good industrial supplier. Look them up online and look for "raw materials" You should be able to find a thickness that works in a 12 in x 12 in sheet. They also have descriprions of the material applications. "Resists petroleum" or similar descriptions of gasoline should work.

Y'all are giving me great feedback! The car is new to me, so I should do a compression check. I think the motor is in good shape and the ODO has less than 6000 miles, so I'm looking for some good numbers psi wise. What should I be looking for? I'm not sure the distributor can be completely removed, doesn't it also drive the oil pump? Thanks, Carl

John, Thanks for the link. I have put in a request for more information. I have been looking around in my area and found a tuner with a chassis dyno. He has done some ECU mapping. He indicated that some pre-configuration is a big help in dialing things in. Best regards, Carl

I am looking into replacing the Weber's with fuel injection for better emission control. I've found two packages with throttle bodies, injectors, ECU and other hardware. What DOT number are these brake fluids (3, 4, or 5) I changed my '80 Dodge Colt over to DOT 5 (silicone) fluid and never had to change any system parts other than front pads. I traded the car with 212k miles. It does not attract moisture but it is not compatible with some seals.

My wife is drinking the stuff tomorrow, should I show her this before or after?

Any ideas on adjusting DCOE's for tailpipe test? My mechanic can get the idle to pass but the 2500 rpm is in the middle stage of the carb. I need suggestions on lowering the HC numbers. Any tips? Preferably tricks that do not require different jets.:bigear:

My 1995 Caterham chassis also has the parking brake located on the firewall. This one is a RHD, so the laver is in the left side. It may have been some Federal regulation the moved the lever between the seats. Carl
