John - we all need to apply a little pressure on Mick to come over to the "light" side and stop driving that big Exige

Sooooo- if over a period of time we experience a 1400% increase in temperature is that cause to believe in global warming or climate change? Started at -7 this morning with an astronomical increase to +7 (F)

OR.... decide at 14 years old it's the coolest thing you've ever seen and build one 34 years later - after only sitting in a completed SV (in a trailer) and an S tub in a shipping container!

ME77Y CHRISTMAS! and a Happy New Year filled with many uneventful blatts!

What size are the headlights (7.5 or 5.75) and where did you source the carbon fiber buckets? Car looks awesome inside and out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here - the car is so low that we just step over the half doors. If you install the top or have installed the top the snaps should also fit the half doors. The rear snap on the half door can also be set-up to allow the roof tp be installed with the half doors.

Mazda - operate the wiper motor before you close up the scuttle over it. The motor can be set for right hand drive (the stop position is up). If it does stop in the up position it is a simple change to the gear mechanism to change it over. Not so simple if it is all put back together, (learned the hard way).

As hard as it is to say Buick and Se7en in the same sentence my 2006 Buick Rainier with the 5.3 V8 with Active Fuel Management has been a very comfortable tow vehicle. 18 mpg daily with 12-13 towing a 12 foot LowHauler with the se7en. AWD with load automatic load leveling. We've towed coast-to-coast in comfort.

I have found that an ear plug in the outside ear (left for driver - right for passenger) is a huge improvement. It significantly reduces the fatigue factor and allows you to hear what's going on around you. A second improvement is use of the half doors - the aerodynamics of the rear fender tends to create a wind blast upward and into your face. The half doors reduce this buffeting. I wear the Wiley-X motorcycle glasses with the foam padding as eye protection. My only complaint is that they are the transition type "sunglasses" and if the sun is coming directly at you through the windshield they do not darken (sunrise and sunset). Otherwise they work very well. For a sunvisor I have been looking at some of the snowboard/ski helmets - very lightweight or a CF half helmet for a motorcycle with a visor attached.

At this point anymore talk of nice fall weather is just rubbing salt in the wound, attached is a photo just taken of Minneapolis Fall weather this morning !-(

I have found that regular track days keep the top speed on the street urge to a minimum. It does not however diminish the need for acceleration - I just take the foot out of it sooner. Top speed I have seen is 128, fourth gear or fifth gear didn't matter (looooooong straight at Brainerd International Raceway).

windscreen and radar detector help needed

Dan, If you're running the short aeroscreen you will be removing the windsheild wipers therefore you would not need the washer spray nozzle in the center of the scuttle. If you remove that and install a rubber grommet you have a hole to pass a wire behind the dash. Drew... -
Drew weighing in... I added a D-ring in the front-right corner of a 12' low hauler symmetrical to the factory installed one on the left for the forward motorcycle. (The low hauler is designed to offset the two bikes with the one on the right set back about a foot). I wrap a strap through the rim on each front wheel and hook both ends up to the same D-ring. I then snug them up with the car where I want it placed, about 4" between the nose and the front of the trailer. These straps have special pads wrapped around the to protect the finish on the rims. For the rear of the car I fabricated slots (1/2" X 1") in the ends of the trailer frame rails. On the low hauler there are 4"x4" rails running down each side of the trailer, these are capped off where they end just in front of the rear door. On the drivers side of my se7en I hook to the ring welded on the frame from the factory and the other end goes into the slot at the rear of the trailer frame. On the passenger side I loop an axle strap over a diagonal frame member in front of the fuel tank and again, the other end to the rear of the trailer frame. I am tying down the suspension on the rear but there is so little vertical component to the angle of the straps that the car does not hardly squat at all. Some have mentioned wrapping around the de-dion tube but I am leery of strapping over my rear brake line. With the spare tire in place I have 5-6" clearance front and back of the se7en. I can then load a tool box just inside the side door behind the passenger side front wheel (cycle fenders) and strap that down. Its tight but I have trailered the car from Minneapolis to: Lime Rock, Banff National Park, Barber/Birmingham, with no issues. Hope this makes sense.

But does it have an ap for balancing twin carbs?

Dan, The wide track kit has different A arms both upper and lower and has the extensions on the shocks and the tie-rod ends. I actually purchased mine with the original kit. Bring your se7en to the next Cars & Cafe and we can compare side by side. drew...

We left Barber based on a GPS route to get to Fontana Village about 5 PM on Monday following LOG29. Got our first taste of the Dragon at 11:30 Monday night as the GPS took us right down 129. SUV and trailer with the Se7en tightly tied down inside, 2nd gear and try to stay off the yellow line. Really glad all the bikers had already turned in for the night. First drive - alot of white knuckle. Next morning - what a different road in the daylight after shedding a few tons of weight! First time in the se7en a little tentative - getting a feel for the road. Actually got passed on the inside by a supermotard on one wheel in a hairpin, he had to be a local! Next passes were much quicker, the cruisers were very good about letting us by and the guys at killboy.com got some great photos. That is an amazing piece of asphalt and we look forward to driving it again - hopefully with a bunch of se7ens. Still bummed we missed the big event 7/7/07.

Jim - looking good! Will these help you stay warm on cool nights driving home? Sort of the McDonald's hand dryer theory???????

"Does anyone know of any goggles that are reactive to light, I mean dark during the day and clear at night?." Wiley X's can be purchased with photochromatic lenses - not quite googles but the do have a removable foam backing the seals against the face. Check http://www.aerostitch.com

How many different sevens have you driven?
drew... replied to slngsht's topic in General Sevens Discussion
one - after 30 years of admiring the mark I finally got to drive one - but I had to build it first! -
Is there a count of how many USA7's enthusiasts are planning to be at LOG29?
