  1. Wow, Blue DBA. We can be so concise, compared to the more reptilian persons.
  2. Yes.
  3. It is a short list for 2 ugliest cars? Tie with Fiat Multipla.
  4. I agree that the Cherokee led to the SUV craze. I don't care. My 2 favorites made the list. I only have a Seven because I realized that I will never be able to afford a 289 Shelby Cobra or an AC 289 Sport, coil spring (best of the line). I think many of the other suggestions are worthy, but we have surpassed the 100 limit. Can't believe they had a R5 (leCar), but not an R5 Turbo. Drove one right after a 308, and the Renault was so much better. As per the usual, Croc started it.
  5. All the Nth degree things. Sometimes you know, sometimes not. A friend was big into turbo charging engines and started to have his intakes, ports, etc. honed with an abrasive slurry (forget the name of the process). Conventional wisdom was that this is a waste of time, since the turbo will push as hard as needed or tolerable, but in the end it did yield HP. PS: Ferrari boxer engines.
  6. And, if ordering a trailer. it is usually easy to specify the same bolt pattern as the truck/car. That makes it easy to have 2 spare tires.
  7. If the tow vehicle is relatively light duty, one can always drive...slower. gasp. Look ahead. Good luck.
  8. That's got to be the highest standard Blakely . The S2 - What a great idea to put all the fuses, relays, etc. accessible, instead of rubbish under the dash. Surely I'm not the only one who can no longer crawl under a dash.
  9. "PS: For the gullible people called Mark on this forum, cotton is grown and not killed. Polyesters are cute at a cellular level." I'll have to check with Mr. Newey. I'm not sure polyesters will cut it. Nomex fibers perhaps, or a natural fur - boar, terrier, something stiff? He'll figure it out. Buy the way, my house is on land that was a cotton field as late as the mid 1960s.
  10. Wow! Croc is on to something. Just what all the Formula 1 drivers will have next year. The variations are infinite. Of course, Adrian Newey will come up with the optimum fur length and texture to calm the air flowing off the helmet. The ears might even be electronically controlled (soon banned).

Trivia question. Silly, I know, but...Is there anywhere our Croc has NOT been to?

  13. Fun, no contact: https://racer.us7.list-manage.com/track/click?u=4229144cd7b7395ebde1911ab&id=30866fe6b8&e=666e8d6b01
  14. That is SO wrong for us poor four bangers.
  15. So, someone should just head on down there with a big trailer? The "less attractive" one might not be bad IFF it has proven race history in period.
  16. Great sound suppression kit. For autocross, I carry a holey tin can, steel wool and safety wire. I have not had to use it, but did loan to a Ariel driver and it worked. I was at 102, but they didn't come talk to me. (Bad breath?)
  17. "PS where is Panamericano who was trolling me on this topic earlier?" Lurking. Someone once said, "If you don't have anything to say, keep your mouth shut."
  18. I added a couple lines of black tape across the top of the goggles, and that blocks the sun and sky glare. Particularly useful when you are blatting through a narrow road with tree cover, and the sun glare is hitting you intermittently. http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=16083&stc=1 So it's not just your Dan Gurney imitation?
  19. For road driving you can easily get prescription safety glasses. They cut out the breeze and debris and are more impact resistant than glasses.
  20. Remember, Croc is geographically challenged. He can find ways to visit all the tracks in Europe and England, but can't find California. Croc, it's to the WEST on this very continent. No oceans in between. That's to the left if you look at a map and hold it the right way.
  21. Mine came through this forum. 100 miles away. I went the day after the ad to see and made the deal. Had to make a second run with a trailer. I'm sure it would have been sold if I had delayed. If one is a REALLY good deal, you need to strike immediately. A car either sells immediately, if a great deal. Or, after it's been listed for a few weeks (+?) and the owner finally realizes it's over priced. Only had one bad experience long distance, and it was from a friend. Chassis rust on a Stablimenti Farina bodied Siata. In any case, I advise budget for a quick trip, even if it's not for final delivery, if there is no local person to inspect it. I inspected a Gullwing for a dealer; sent him 3 rolls of photos: walked around on the cell phone with him for 20 minutes, answering detailed questions. Fun test drive!
  22. What size hammer is a Subtlety ?
  23. Again with the Arkansas jokes? Croc, we should be ashamed of ourselves.
  24. Great photos. Thanks. Lovely Westy. re the numbers really that big, or does the tiny car just make them looks huge? Nice Montreal. Great car. STILL under valued IMO. Omega? Intermecanica? Apollo? Let's see, they had at least one more name. The Vetta Ventura did not come as a roadster, so??
  25. Once took a foreign client to get his Texas driver's license. He did the driving test in his Testarossa. He passed and the DPS person looked happy when she got out. By all means, take the Stalker for the test.
