  1. It's happy with no indicators.
  2. Those are really cool but 48k is a big pill to swallow. They do look like a good time.
  3. Hey Simon my name is Loren. I own the Ultralite brand here. We use Autometer gauges and assorted digital dashes over the years. For the oil pressure we just remove the factory sensor and replace it with the sending unit that comes with the gauge. On the temp. gauge we install a sending unit somewhere in the upper radiator hose it's the most accurate area to monitor temps. You need to leave the factory sending unit in place. The Ecu monitors it and you will have limp issues if you use a stock Ecu. Speedo it's best to use a magnetic pulse generator on the driveshaft or rear axle. The vehicle speed sensor doesn't drive a analog gauge and can cause some Ecu problems again. The tach runs fine off the factory tach signal lead. Are you using the factory Ecu or aftermarket?
  4. Sounds like the flasher relay is going bad. They are usually a small round relay about the size of a quarter. Not sure if that's what the Birkin uses, but is pretty standard on most cars.
  5. Does it have two fans. Looks like on the front and back side of the radiator.
  6. Yes I miss the Z. It's timeless body style in my opinion. I think the RB motors are a great choice. I get the urge to build another one all the time. I just have to many irons in the fire. MHK well you would think he drives it but 1 month after buying it he went to work in Japan for a year. That was seven years ago. He comes home once a year for a few weeks digs both of his z cars out of storage washes them drives it for a week and then goes back to Japan. I talked to h last week and he just renewed for another two years.
  7. surfing on you tube and found my old car that I sold to buy my Ultralite. It took me 3 years to build it was fun, but I like the Ultralite better.
  8. I had the chance to work the truck series garage fire fighter for two years. We went out to pit wall and did fire suppression during the race which was really cool. I never had the access you did sounds like a great time you lucky dog.
  9. I feel the same as Busa and Snookwheel. You can take all the wealth from every millionaire in the world and it wouldn't make dent in our debt. Tax the "rich" 100 percent wouldn't help much. taxing the rich has been done before. My father inlaw was paying about 70 percent. You know what he did. He said why work. He shut down his business and went fishing for ten years. When Reagan took office he opened it back up and went back to work and hiring people.
  10. Im not sure why he is pandering for the black vote He had 97 percent of their support last time around I don't see that changing.
  11. Sweet ride. Welcome to the forum. Im sure someone here will know the answers to your questions.
  12. I like that RS2 trailer as well closest think I found in the states is http://www.ironhorsetrailers.com/ the wide body will hold a 7 but not as much room as the RS model.
  13. It's definitely a rocket on the track and the road. Good deal for someone that wants to dominate on the track.
  14. Is that muffler attachment held on with just the clamp? I could see that thing vibrating off if it's not bolted on.
  15. You can run the factory Ecu with no cat. You only need one O2 sensor the primary one in front of the cat. The second can be taken off with no issues. I wouldn't remove both until you change to AEM Ecu which your stuck with fuel maps which are fine as long as you don't change altitude much. You need to add UEGO for closed loop operation.
  16. I want aware of any Ultralites using the factory studs in the diff all the ones I have seen has the studs removed and grade 8 bolts installed. The diff brace is a must and all newer cars have the diff support nose reinforced. I would like to offer the diff braces as an option but there is to many variations in chassis to make it work they really need to be done in the car. I am Hushpower build me some custom mufflers we will see how they work out they are 20 in long.
  17. Are you looking for an open or closed?
  18. 8 miles about 12 min in my truck or about 8 min in my 7. It's a winding road that goes around the lake it begs me to break the speed limit just a bit. I go in at 6 am there is little to no traffic.
  19. I've hit 132 at TWS 240 hp Ultralite. 7evin has done 160 at VIR long course about 400hp. John Meyers 169 at VIR he was running about 500 hp v8. It takes a lot of hp to overcome the poor aero of a seven.
  20. Rzepel for your sump tank to stay at the same level as the fuel tank you have to have a fitting on the bottom of the tank. Some racing sanctioning bodies don't allow fitting on the bottom of a fuel cell they have to be mounted on top of the tank. So yours will work good for autox or some DE events, but may not pass some tech inspections. This is a good option for folks meeting those rules.
  21. Fill your tank with a the foam you want. It won't make any difference in a long sweeper if you have 1/4 tank of fuel. Blew my engine because of it. Boosted engine and no fuel don't play well together 239.00 is cheaper than 4000.00 for another engine. It's a good option for those none fabricators in the group.
  22. Found this item today. It's a fuel surge tank with a mounted pump. This small tank feeds the motor your current pump feeds this tank and overflows back to main tank. Good solution for fuel starvation. http://www.intengineering.com/Integrated-Engineering-p8917399-1-2.html
  23. I know that Dakotas are booming. There is a huge housing shortage there now
  24. Same way in Texas if you get over 6 points in three years you have to pay a "surcharge" it's about the same 150.00 and goes up from there depending on how many points you have.
  25. Since the corn subsidies started we have lost all of the hog farms in our area because feed prices have made it impossible to make a profit. A majority of our farmers have quit growing cotton and switched to corn because of subsidies. Now there is less cotton on the market and less for use to export. Just like most government programs that have good intentions but they never seem to consider the consequences. Don't get me started on the veggie oil fiasco the gov created.
