  1. I saw this video yesterday on the BAC Mono. Pretty interesting, but I was expecting a carbon fiber tub rather than a spaceframe chassis for what they go for. Nice little section on the Duratec engine they use as well.
  2. I wanted to update this thread with my experience with @renntech. I reached out through email and ended up dealing with William. I was very happy with the communication and customer service, and ended up purchasing several of the parts. I just rec'd the parts this afternoon and was very satisfied with the quality of the parts, and they were packed very well. I wish my original rear wings from Caterham were packed that well! I would not hesitate to deal with renntech in the future. Just my 2 cents.
  3. This is a new video, but I think I've seen a few parts of it before.
  4. I can add that when I was building the dash and tidying up the wiring on my son's Miata-powered Exocet, I ended removing enough wiring and connectors to fill up a 5 gallon bucket. It was amazing how much wiring there is, even on a very basic mid-90's sports car. So I can definitely see it being over 13 lbs!
  5. That reinforcing plate is designed to limit the twist in the axle. I think that plate and other similar designs was introduced to reinforce the early Triumph axles. I guess it's effectiveness is determined by how much hp/torque you put through the axle and how grippy the tires are. I'm not sure if that reinforcement was necessary on the Escort axles introduced in the late 60's, or the Morris Ital axle introduced in the 80's. If you want to read into this a bit further you can check out these links from the Simple Sevens site. Lot's of photos with different methods of reinforcing the Triumph axle. I'm not an expert on these so I don't know if the later Escort or Ital axles could be reinforced in the same manner, or if it would even be required. https://www.simplesevens.org/history/t10axle/t10axle.htm https://www.simplesevens.org/dsk/bulletins/axles1.htm
  6. I think this is the twist being discussed. It's a well known issue on live axle Lotus Sevens. https://www.super7.dk/rearaxle.html
  7. There's only a little over 15" of space available to install a seat in an S3 chassis. An SV seat will not fit in an S3 chassis without modification to narrow it.
  8. I'm pretty sure that size is the issue. An SV seat will not fit in an S3 chassis without modification to reduce the width.
  9. I measured my S3 seats at the cushion and they were right around 15". I would think these would be SV seats.
  10. No changes, I run the stock 1/2" orange sway bar. I was told to keep the 1/2" when I went to wide track too.
  11. Absolutely, I'm probably the most familiar with both of those. Palmer is a really fun track and it's the closest drive to my house so I've been there the most. Yes, even closer than LRP and Thompson. Canaan is a great track to learn at with relatively low speeds and decent runoff for most corners. Just be careful with the concrete barrier. I've seen a couple instances where a driver over corrected to stay on track and went back to the inside and into the barrier. Club is probably my favorite with just one corner that I struggle with. Really hoping I can make it to NJMP in June.
  12. Thanks Croc. It wasn't high on my list of new tracks to go to because of that reason, but my son convinced me I should try it.
  13. I'm not sure where I got this drawing from, but it could have been from a member here. I'm thinking it could have been Al N when he was restoring his old S2.
  14. I've been running with MassTuning for the last four years. They run events all over the northeast. I've done the three tracks mentioned above, plus LRP, NYST, and Watkins Glen. I also signed up for Pocono this year for the first time.
