1. Congrats, can't wait to see it!
2. Glenn - Can't make it this year because we're watching our granddaughter that weekend, but we definitely want to get to this event at some point. Have fun!
3. Details here: http://limerock.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=101&Itemid=99 Nancy and I have tickets for Saturday the 4th. My son and his wife will probably take the MGB and my daughter and her husband will probably ride their motorcycles. Anybody else going?
4. Bryce - Good luck with your trip! Let me know if there's anything I can do when you get back to Ct.
5. Hi Bill. Do you have more details?
6. Gert - You shouldn't have to replace the hub. The new bearing should come with a new outer race. The outer race just gets installed into the hub with a bearing driver, or if you're careful with a drift (preferably brass).
7. I don't think too many of these NZ cars made it to the states. This one needs some work. No affiliation, etc: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/77-Lotus-7-series-4-Built-Steelbro-lotus-Newzealand-/120609493662?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c14e2d29e#v4-37
8. I'm running 15 x 7 Enkei RP-F1's on my Birkin with Falken RT-615 tires in 205/50-15 size. The wheels weigh 9.8 lbs and the the wheel/tire combo was just under 30 lbs. I bought them from Good-Win-Racing but I'm not sure if those wheels are available in the Caterham bolt pattern.
9. Nice turnout, looks like a fun time! That Eleven certainly fits in with all the se7ens. :cooldude:
10. Looks like this:
11. What a great adventure, good luck Tom! That's quite a setup for holding luggage around the spare tire. It'd be nice to see some more detailed photo's at some point.
12. Lotus Twin Cam with 5-speed. No affiliation, etc: http://www.lotusowners.com/ForSale/DNCat/index.htm
13. Bruce - I removed the heater on my Birkin a while back and use a Gerbing heated jacket and controller to keep me toasty on those days when it's in the 20's. I really can't believe how well it works! The engine compartment has a lot more room to play with and access to the slave cylinder and gearbox top cover is much improved.

A Riddle

A friend just sent this one to me at work. Wasn't sure if this was appropriate or should it go in the PRC section.... Here is a riddle for the true intellectual. Try to come up with the answer on your own... The answer is at the end for those who are unable to think this one through!! At the exact same time, there are two 35 year old young men on opposite sides of the earth: One is walking a tight rope between two skyscrapers. The other is getting a blow job from an 85 year old woman. They are both thinking the exact same thing. What are they both thinking? Don't look down. Don't look down. Don't look down...........
16. Crossflow, DeDion, clamshells. No affiliation, etc: http://www.lotusowners.com/ForSale/TGCat/index.htm
17. From what I remember you want to have 1.5 times the length (or is it dia?) of the velocity stack for clearance to the air filter cover plate. So if you are running a 4" height filter you can run a 40mm stack with no issues. I think you can run up to a 50mm stack resulting in 50mm clearance to the cover plate but it's not optimum. Check out TWM's website for their different applications: http://www.twminduction.com/AirHorn/AirHorn-FR.html They even have carbon fiber!
18. twobone - I have 4.5" x 7" x 4" tall K&N's that I run on my Birkin with 45 TB's. They should work for your 40's w/trumpets. I got them from APT and they were p/n 56-1365. Here: http://www.aptfast.com/apt_parts/Kn_parts/a_KN_filters.htm
19. Nice job Mike, the car looks great!
20. Saw the story on Blatchat: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/07/23/national/main6707837.shtml
21. There's quite a few threads on Blatchat concerning dry sump oil level. Here's a quick one: http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?id=188565
22. Back on Ebay, but with a lot less photos than the original ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1957-Lotus-7-Roadster-Replica-/120598984793?cmd=ViewItem&pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item1c14427859#v4-38
23. I agree. First thing I would change would be the seats. Just sell the existing ones to some kid with a Civic!
24. What do you consider reasonable? Would you need a headrest?
25. Nice looking car Jason. Where did you get the clamshells from?
