  1. Hank - Sorry I can't see the video at work, but congrats anyway!
  2. Looks beautiful Jon, I hope to see it at Carlisle. Congrats on another fine job!
  3. It's probably a little too heavy to be considered a Seven , but it sure is cool!
  4. Lot's of good info on that site! Thanks DB
  5. Not sure about the Rotus, but there was an article on Jim Gallagher's Mazda rotary powered Lotus in R&T. Here's a little history on the car from the SimpleSevens site: http://www.simplesevens.org/gallagher/index.html Bruce
  6. I looked in the TV guide. My wife works at ESPN and she told me. I saw it on a thread on Rennlist so it must be true. I'm pretty sure they're not going to have a programming change between now and Friday. Now if you're questioning why I think it looks interesting, did you watch the trailer? Have you seen some of the crap that's on TV these days??? It looks pretty interesting compared to what I've been watching lately on TV...
  7. Showing on ESPN on Friday 3/20 at 8pm. Should be interesting... http://www.truthin24.com/the_story.html#/the_story/
  8. Don't forget to watch...
  9. "The yellow clams is the one that was on the for sale pages of this site from FL. While I had looked at it last year and passed on it, Jack ended buying it recently when the owner decided to negotiate price. So the side picture Bruce put up is the same car. My car has the cycle wings and green nose" - Sorry Mike, I guess I was confused on which car was yours. I do like the green band on the nose of your car though!
  10. Dave - Glad to see you finally take credit for that fine drive in that awesome sounding Birkin!
  11. Dave, congrats on getting that first drive in! Hope the oil pan doesn't turn out to be too big a deal. Croc - Did you buy the 1999 Caterham from Bill R. down in Fla? I had been in touch with him and I thought that was a real nice car at a good price. "Croc: do you have any pictures of the yellow with clams showing it from the side?" - Skip, if it's the car I think it is, here's a shot from the side supplied from the previous owner.
  12. Here's a carbon bodied car that's finished. Not a V6 but K-series powered: http://www.ca07bon.com/index.php
  13. So I figured I'd try to find the car I remembered with a Porsche engine in it so I got out my "Lotus Seven & The Independents" book by Dennis Ortenburger, and there it was on pg 165. It was called the Portus and it was built and autocrossed by Del Long in the 1980's. Surprisingly, the car started out as a Lotus Seven Series 2 with the 948cc motor and was upgraded to several Ford motors, then a Porsche 914, and finally a 911 motor. From the pictures in the book, you can tell that the front frame was widened to fit the flat-6, and the motor had two 3-barrel Weber downdrafts with what looks to be K&N air filters sticking through the hood. Unfortunately, they weren't the bigger 3.0-3.6 litre air-cooled motors but were limited to 2.0-2.5 litres depending on which class he was competing in. I couldn't find any pics of the Portus on the web so I figured I'd show you one of Long's later creations which was a D-mod Locost powered by what looks to be a Honda or Acura motor:
  14. I'm not sure how well a Subaru motor would fit, but I could have sworn I remember someone running a Porsche flat-6 or flat-4 in a se7en type car. Maybe an auto-X car?? Bruce
  15. Unlucky 13 for me too...
  16. Not too far along but it looks like it's going to be an interesting build: http://www.lu07tus.com/index.php Bruce
  17. Thanks Tom and Skip. That's what I thought, but I wanted to make sure. Bruce
  18. I wouldn't think any kind of sprayed clearcoat would adhere very well to aluminum after it's been polished but I could be wrong. I know some people use a protectant or wax after the final polishing but it does dull the finish somewhat if I remember correctly. On another note, for owners with fully painted cars from the factory, does the underside of the bonnet get painted or is that left bare aluminum? Bruce
  19. This is the same place that I bought my Piloti shoes at in the fall. I wore them on Sunday for the first time and thought they were very comfortable. Check this thread: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3068&highlight=piloti+shoes Bruce
  20. Congrats! Hopefully I'll get my copy of CM today so I can check it out. Bruce
  21. Hi John, Check out this thread: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3054 Assuming that a Caterham and a Series 2 are the same basic dimensions, you might want to contact KYO, he might be able to help. Bruce
  22. Looking forward to it!

Why am I not surprised that they painted it pink???
  24. Nice Caterham you have on the way! I've often thought that an Elise would make a nice daily driver to go with a Seven. Excuse my ignorance, but what's a K42 motor. Is that a Honda? Bruce
  25. Kyle, I know it's not in NJ, but if you want to check out my Birkin you're more than welcome to. I'm in Wolcott Ct about 160 miles away from Hopewell. Bruce
