Found this on the USA-se7ens mailing list. No affiliation but I thought I'd pass it on: "Well, I've decided to sell my Seven because a Merlyn Formula Ford stole my heart and I just couldn't pass it up. My Seven is a 1997 Caterham Classic. It's been mostly raced in the Super Seven Challenge Series in a vintage club in Texas and has proven to be the car to beat in its class! It's been registered and inspected and I do drive it on the street some when the weather is nice. Detailed Specs - 1.6L Crossflow Ford blueprinted/balanced w/ oversized valves and uprated cam (extremely strong but very streetable) - twin 40 DCOE Webers - Quaife Rocket 4 speed dog engagement transmission (once you're used to it it's really easy to drive on the street....on a track, there is no substitute for the unbelievable speed at which it shifts!) - Quaife LSD rear differential - Tilton hydraulic clutch - dry sump oil system - MSD electronic ignition w/ adjustable rev limiter (chip based) - carbon fiber Caterham seat - reinforced rear axle - Racetech gauges (water & oil pressure/oil temp) - fuel cell - yellow/alloy w/ red interior Pictures from a couple of days ago are at the link below...the muffler is off in the pictures b/c it was getting a new coat of paint at the time. http://www.mhibbs.fastmail.fm/files/ Asking $23,000 which is a deal considering there is ~$15,000 invested in the drivetrain alone. Give me a call or shoot me an email if you are interested listsub@mhibbs.com 512.560.6854 Mitch" http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/759646372_DSC00415.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/6781108_DSC00416.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/66771682_DSC00417.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1910522001_DSC00419.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1843479270_DSC00423.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/148776470_DSC00424.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/72239649_DSC00425.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1915989968_DSC00427.jpg Bruce :7drive:

I know that Tiger Racing has a twin engined model, but it looks a little different than the one in the video. Check the link here: http://www.tigerracing.com/z100.php http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/865544493_z100-1.jpg Bruce :7drive:

Nice pictures Stan and Steve. Here's some more: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/521087825_56LotusXIOutside0005.jpg http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1872742412_IMG_1079R.jpg So quite a few years back at a Vintage Fall Festival at LRP, I'm showing a Lotus Eleven to a close female acquaintance who shall remain nameless, and I ask her what she thinks and she says "I think it looks like a peni$!!" Now I'm wondering, does that mean she likes it or not?!?! :jester: Bruce :7drive: PS: I hope this is not too inappropriate

Welcome aboard Chuck! Great group of guys here, no matter what type of se7en you drive! Bruce :7fume:

Thanks for sharing John! I've always been a BIG fan of the Lotus and Westfield Eleven's and that looks like a nice restoration! Bruce :7drive:

Not for me, but I thought I'd ask here in case the guy interested wasn't a member here... Bruce :7drive:

I knew I remembered seeing a site of a home-grown electric Birkin, well I found it here: http://www.electric7.com/ To me, not having the sound of the exhaust would take away a good portion of the driving experience! Bruce :7fume:

There was some interest for a T9 transmission on the usa@se7ens mailing list. Is this tranny still available? Bruce :7fume:

"Be brave! Let your dog drive your Se7en!" - I don't know how many times I've come back to my car and Rocky would be sitting in the driver's seat and I'd have to tell him to move over....and he'd just stare at me with this look that said "I can do it!!!" Thanks for all the great pictures guys! In case you can't tell, I love dogs!! Bruce :7drive:

ahhh so thats why! (New air filters installed!))

I'm sure some of the problem is caused because you're running a crossflow and most Birkin's came with a Zetec. You're bonnet probably has a rolled edge which makes it more difficult to modify and you probably wouldn't want to modify it anyway. When I went to ITB's I had to cut the opening in the bonnet to fit the K&N's I wanted to use, but I left minimal clearance between the filters and bonnet just in case I wanted to roll the edge at a later date. It actually doesn't look too bad with just the plain edge. Like you said you can modify the backing plate and stick with K&N's, go to ITG or Pipercross, or Pierce manifolds has a selection of filters including the sock type here: http://www.piercemanifolds.com/airfilters.htm I don't think that the screen type filters that go on the end of the velocity stack would be good for filtering or flow. It might be worth posting this on the yahoo.birkinowners site to get a wider range of opinions from Birkin owners that could be running crossflows. Hope this helps, Bruce :7fume: -
I know it's not as fast and a lot more dangerous, but I prefer this to the modern stuff: http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/2009983098_lotusf-1.jpeg Bruce :7drive:

Thanks for the heads-up! Good job to all the Texas se7ener's!! :7fume: -
Nice looking dogs, guys!! Hey Martin, shouldn't Maxwell be riding around in a Sunbeam Tiger? And S1Steve, I was a little surprised to see your yellow lab in the pool. Everybody knows that labs "hate" the water!! Looks like Rocky's going to be doing some cruising in the Birkin this spring!! :7drive: Bruce
-
Soooo, I have my good buddy Rocky, an 11 year old 70-lb yellow lab that spends at least 1-hour everyday with me either swimming, kayaking, hiking, snow-shoeing, or cruising around in my MGB. He loves riding around in "his" seat in the MGB and I love to watch when Nancy and Rocky fight over who gets first dibs on the passenger seat when all three of us go for a cruise! What I was wondering is if anyone has ever taken their medium to large size dog out with them in their se7en? I'm hoping to get a set of goggles for him and maybe hook his harness up to the seatbelt/mounting points to take him for a spin in the Birkin to show him how a "real" sports car goes!! :7drive: Any experiences or advice is appreciated! Here's a picture of Rocky and I cruising around last winter before the first snow. And yes, a '64 MGB with stock suspension does roll a little bit!! http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1107224632_IMG_4873.jpg Thanks, Bruce :7fume:

"Anyone remember this stunt he pulled after a touchdown while he was a 49er?" - Oh yea, just one in a whole career of stunts he's pulled over the years!! But I have to give him credit for at least backing his quarterback for a change, not like what he did with Jeff Garcia in SF and Donovan McNabb in Philly. I think he's found himself a home in Dallas and it looks like he's matured from a toddler all the way up to an adolescent!!

:jonautox: Sorry Jon, but that has to be the best smiley I've ever seen!! I guess I'm a dummy, but what is "1nT4rw3b"? Bruce

I plan on being there. If the weather's bad I'll probably tow the Birkin, but if not: :7fume: Would love to see a club booth with a nice selection of the different se7en brands. Bruce
