  1. Looks great! Saying enjoy would be redundant at this point.
  2. I have a Birkin S3, size 11 1/2s. It works with driving shoes.
  3. Birkins have, or can have, heated windshields. Tom can fix you up on that. I bought a new one to replace a cracked one earlier this year. I would expect your Birkin has a heated windshield. Of course, I'm going to use the old frame for a lightweight, plexiglas windshield. I just haven't decided if I'm going to cut it down or not. The heater core came in a box that was with the car, but is installed again for fall rides.
  4. Thank you Skip! You've been awesome. The Softbits tops look really nice. I'm just going for something to keep the sun off and will probably make out of Sunbrella or similar. With my now custom rollbar, etc., it is probably easier to just make it than to communicate the dimensions needed anyway. Thanks again.
  5. Is it difficult to get zipped back up once in the car? The velcro looks like it is on the outside from your photos. I assume the velcro is to reduce water intrusion and help reinforce the zipper. It must reduce the possibility of getting into the car silently as well. Thanks!!
  6. That's quite a rig. Might make me carsick...
  7. Thank you. I think I understand how it works now.
  8. I just finished a taller roll bar for my Birkin and am planning on making a half-hood for it. The easy in zipper sounds great, but I have never seen a photo of one so I really don't know how or if to do it. Would anyone put up a photo for me?
  9. I did mine, but the whole thing, this spring. I think you are on the right track. If you can find a good shop, the price is usually much better in more rural areas.
  10. A good pneumatic impact wrench usually gets them loose, but I suppose you would have tried that if you have one.
  11. So, you just had to tighten the front crank pulley bolt?
  12. That one speaks to me. I think I was just drooling a bit. GLWS
  13. Actually, if that is the beautiful dark gray 7 that was Mighty Mikes, it will have more comfortable seats than mine. I would also be comfortable that it should be a relatively mechanically uneventful trip as far as problems. Congrats on buying that beauty! It also has the wind deflector screen behind the roll bar, and might even have a half-hood. All of those will add to the comfort level, except the half-hood makes getting in and out a bit more adventurous. I would probably ship it, but I'm not as young as I used to be.
  14. In my 03 Birkin, anything over an hour and I can't walk straight for a few minutes. By the second hour, my butt is tenderized. I plan on some work on the seats this winter.
  15. That is a beauty. I am sure it will be lots of fun.
  16. I've been using DT40 racing oil. It has the zinc levels that the folks who have studied it recomment to keep the bearings alive longer in the earlier water cooled Porsches. Works great in my Birkin too. [h=1][/h]
  17. It looks nice, although by the pickup it doesn't look like the owner is particular about all their vehicles.
  18. Wow, Mike and Gale do really impressive work. I am in awe of the results. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Yes, it does sound like it was fun. A west coast event would be fantastic. Thanks for sharing all of the fun!
  20. It was a nice day. The temperature was starting into the 90s and it was getting a touch warm inside the Birkin.
  21. If the line coming into the surge tank was on the bottom, and the surge tank was tapered to the line, the left/right part wouldn't matter. The other thought that comes to my mind is the check valve has to be reliable with very small pressure changes. Great idea; why have another pump if it is not needed?
  22. If you want to have one carving through the mountains and canyons, I would be happy to host a stop and barbeque on Lake Chelan, or get a local winery to have us.
