  1. Morgan - Saw this while tonight while watching the hockey game. Hope you're getting some residuals out of it. http://www.subaru.com/sub/misc/2008/autoshow/ny0311/wrx/index.html?module=wrx_sti&section=gallery_video&from=home_page_tout Steve
  2. You might be able to commission Nathan at RMSCI to make another. About half way down this page: http://www.rmsci.com/video.html Steve
  3. Other books you might consider are "Weber Carburetors" by Pat Braden and "How to Build & Power Tune Weber and Dellorto Carburetors" by Des Hammill. My 1700 Crossflow has the Kent 244 cam and head porting. The Weber 40's have 120 Main, F16 Emulsion, 165 Air Correction, and 50F9 Idle. Haven't checked to see what the Choke size is. To my somewhat uneducated foot, it doesn't have any real flat spots (although things don't really get interesting until about 4000 rpm) and starts easily. I've been told that changing things on Webers can be a slippery slope. Good luck! Steve
  4. Was a bit surprised at the stated Caterham seat cost, so took a quick look at RMSCI's site. The $1000+ seats are a carbon/kevlar composite. There is also a fiberglass model for $470. Still not cheap, but not $1000 either. In terms of prices, as near as I can tell the same fiberglass seat is listed on the Caterham UK site for 270 pounds. My experience has been that some things are a bit more, some a bit less than what you might find if you bought direct from Caterham UK. Steve
  5. Al - Timing may not be right, but Rocky Mountain is restoring an S2. http://www.rmsci.com/5287/0208.pdf Steve
  6. Not my cup of tea (I'm still in the '60s with my Crossflow and clamshell wings), but this is a Caterham with a supercharged RSTV8 currently on display at the Autosport exhibition in the UK. http://www.silesia-grills.co.uk/images/as1.jpg http://www.silesia-grills.co.uk/images/as2.jpg http://www.silesia-grills.co.uk/images/as3.jpg http://www.silesia-grills.co.uk/images/as4.jpg http://www.silesia-grills.co.uk/images/as5.jpg Thread from Blatchat is here: http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=144571 Steve
  7. The fourth post down here: http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=144383 indicates that they are selling the side skin/bodywork separately.
  8. Also known as a Morgan. http://www.morgancars-usa.com/threewheelracer.html
  9. Thought this was interesting. Wasn't aware of this variant. http://www.toniqr.co.uk/ http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/203050/toniqr.html Steve
  10. Lots of info on oil, Crossflow specific and general, on Blatchat. I started with 10w40 in my Crossflow, but have been using various 50's for the last few years. I think as long as your pressure is fine, the 10w40 will work. Steve
  11. Put me down for 1 men's. Will pay via Paypal. Thanks. Steve Montgomery
  12. Came across this on Blatchat: http://forum.difflock.com/userpix/6900_gggg_025_3.jpg Too good not to share. Blatchat link to post is: http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?Id=140166 Steve
  13. I've also used a NAPA 1374. Currently have a Fram 3614 on it, and have used an STP S3614 several times. Both the Fram and the STP I've gotten at Autozone. Steve
  14. The St. Louis Lotus club had a sort of "dyno day" over the Labor weekend. Pretty low key - everyone just cycling through the dyno - 3 pulls and you were done. My 1700 Crossflow started life as the 135 HP spec, then had the cam changed to the 244 which I was told put it in the 150 HP category - at least in theory. As you can see (maybe - not as sharp as I had hoped), I managed 107 HP, and 97 ft. lbs. I think if I'd gone to 7000 rpm (or close) I might have made it over 110. Didn't measure the AFR, although I may go back and have them check that also. I think I'll wait until the temp is in the 40's - the Webers love that cold air. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/upload/1378673624_Crossflow_Dyno_09012007.jpg
  15. Dave - I used Passport to ship my Caterham from Denver to it's home here in St. Louis. Overall, I thought the service was excellent. I'd use them again. Steve
  16. Jeff - just sent you a PM. Steve
  17. Happens to be my birthday. I also weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz. at birth. Steve
  18. From what I've read on Blatchat, 20 psi and lower is "normal" for a Seven. I usually run around 18 - 20 psi (with the infamous Michelin Pilots aka "pileups"). Steve
  19. These aren't used parts, but could get you there. http://www.wilcoxengines.demon.co.uk/bda_parts.htm Steve
  20. Sal - You might want to take a look at this link >http://www.blatchat.com/T.asp?id=85125 or this one >http://www.blatchat.com/T.asp?id=70854 I did a search on "frame number" on Blatchat to find the posts. Hope this helps. Steve '98 Caterham 1700 Crossflow
