  1. I always thought a Se7en painted JP Special would be nice. Russ
  2. Julian D and I are going to put together a gathering in Northern Arkansas in June of 2011. Here is his post on LocostUSA announcing it. Please go to that site and respond if you are interested in coming to the event. Thanks Russ OK....I am going to jump into the deep end of the pool and raise my hand to co-host the 2011 Midwest Se7ens Gathering! (poor Russ is a glutton for punishment and has offered to help me out on this one!) We will be gathering in the GREAT driving mountains of north central Arkansas at the Hub motorcycle resort just outside of Harrison Ak. I checked their schedule online and they have the weekends of June 10-11-12 and June 24-25-26 open right now. Before I contact them to start sorting out the details I need to hear from everyone as to which weekend works best for the majority of us. (June is a good time of year as the weather doesn't start getting too hot, although all the rooms have A/C .) So start giving me some feed back and start spreading the work and saving the dates! I would like to start getting back to them by the end of Oct. so the weekends don't get book up! Julian "He must be Mad" Dziurawiec

  13. Many years ago (about 30) I saw a cute young thing driving a convertable sports car and it's tag was "A1TAIL". I doubt if it would pass inspectors now.
  14. Arya, It has to be sideways or upside down to get the hydraulic pressure to work. Russ
  15. I've done the same thing for years with a folded up towel and the palm of my hand. His method looks a little easier on the hand though. Russ
  16. Wow that is nice. Looked it up on Google Maps. Now I see why California burns so much. That place looks like a tinder box!!! Russ

  18. That would be funny if it wasn't so true.
  19. Wow, I just got back from a weekend of great roads, great cars and great friends (old and new). I am speaking about the Midwest Se7ens Gathering South of St Paul, Mn. Brent and Brenda put on one hell of an event. I’ve driven some nice roads in my life all around the world but these were right up there with the best. Where else could you drive all day long on the twisties and see such sites as river barges going through river locks, picturesque villages that look like paintings or model railroad layouts when viewed from a 500 foot high bluff, eagles soaring high above and on the ground, a cow giving birth to a calf, huge sand hill cranes in freshly mowed fields, white tail deer darting in front of a line of Se7ens, pick your own strawberry patches, great restaurants, $1.00 ice cream cones that you would pay $4.00 for anywhere else and not be any better, quaint shops and antique stores, very little traffic (and few cops), deep valleys that a cell phone showed absolutely NO coverage in, what seemed like dozens of commercial motocross tracks, lots of motels and camp grounds, and a whole lot more I could describe but that would take all the fun out of you discovering it for yourself. All this and we never were more than 15 miles from the Mississippi River or its tributaries. This place is like the Tail of The Dragon of the Great North only there are multiple roads to explore. Anybody ready for a National Gathering event here??? Distances to Wabasha, Mn: Kansas City-460 miles, LA-1565miles, NY-1939 miles, Atlanta-1052 miles, St. Louis-493 miles, Louiville-633 miles, Denver-933 miles, Portland-1818 miles, Austin-1180 miles. Guys this is doable!!!!! Russ Amos

  22. Wow must be nice!!! You don't allow much time to visit the sites. If it is just you, you will be OK but if the SWMBO is going you will need more time to sight see. Russ
  23. Well my cable snapped yesterday so I can't go blatting on this fine holiday weekend. I can't find anything in town that even comes close to my cable. I have a British made Locost that is RHD and has a Ford xflow 1300cc with a 4 speed. Basically a "book" build. Pinto, Capri, xr4ti, and Fiesta cables don't look like they fit or none in KC. The cable cover is about 22" OL and the cable is about 31" OL. pedal end has an eye and the clutch end has a ball. Any suggestions what might fit? I'll call Bean and BAT on Tuesday and see what they have. UK ebay has lots of them. The Midwest Gathering is coming up and I need to find one. Looks like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Clutch-Cable-Ford-Escort-Mk2-RS2000-Mexico-/160437439053?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item255ad10a4d Tks Russ
  24. 30 days and counting till the Gathering. Russ
  25. I don't think 12.5's will fit in mine. My 8.5's sometimes hit the brake and gas at the same time. I think you will need more room. A Stalker is only marginally better than mine. Russ
