Deep pockets win again. I would have been a player at a fraction of the total and even then I thought it's too much. Really wanted it for the Mrs & little one to bring along to C&C and USA7's events -
There are also these for whoever wants them https://www.sevensandclassics.com/online-shop/p/carbon-seven-keyring

Certainly, something to it I don't particularly like them, but the ethos is certainly there with the open wheels on the front and similar arcs in the back, two seater etc Side note, its absolutely crazy that what is essentially a concept car was ever approved and made it into production as is.

End of import duty free imports under $800 for us.
Vovchandr replied to Vovchandr's topic in General Sevens Discussion
To be fair I shared that experience too. Some items were held and I had to pay duty on and many others it was a non issue. Could never put logic behind it. -

You might be right. I've seen mixed messages on whether it's blanket or China only. Regardless it appears that this has already been gone back on and now new policy is "paused" -
I used to get thinks from Royal Mail on the semi regular. Without getting into the politics of it, but more of an FYI it appears that the orders under $800 declared value were excempt from you having to pay an import fee and that is no longer the case. I'm glad I'm pretty stocked up on most things I need. Use this thread to either back up these discoveries or share exactly what the fee % you're finding out it is now from the UK.
-
That's fair and I'm to blame. The car gets used less frequently than I'd like so I'm going off my (poor) memory and I don't exactly give accurate and consistent reports. I was just happy to be able to modify the map and test it before putting it away for the winter. I'll report further issues and resolutions this season.
-
Thank you for the feedback. I didn't want to start a separate thread on this but yeah this is tuning+Pectel related at the same time. I blindly modified the table to a guesstimated figured. If you think some are too high or too low I can adjust it further. I don't quite understand the semantics of part throttle and load application and how these tables reflect those scenarios but I'm all for getting better at it. Dez was helpful at the track by messing with the table first in person to see if it made anything better.

It's very hard to think back accurately to an issue that occurs seldomly and I only put 300 miles a year on a car with half of those being track miles. I realized that's a me problem, but nonetheless. Id have to reread my own thread which is almost like a blog to see when I first noticed it. With that said this recent track day last year I think it was worse than ever which is what made it critical for me to try hail marry and address it in fuel map before something went catastrophic with too lean condition for too long or otherwise. To your last question if I recall correctly I got very concerned on the track with this issue happening so I started recreating it and doing different throttle inputs to recover out of it to see if they had any affect. If I recall, like you say, light to mid throttle would cause the bogging but going back to full throttle either avoided the problem or recovered out of it faster. During daily driving I'm rarely on my car full throttle back to full throttle. So typically I would do a full throttle pass or being on the on ramp, get slightly above speed limit, then coast down, then apply partial throttle to cruise at speed and this would happen. So yes in all cases it seems full throttle > coast > part throttle is the chain of events to create this problem.
-
The whole point of me blindly messing with the map was to try to partition whether this was mechanical or electric/ECU. My entire engine teardown and head gasket replacement partially started because I had this issue and I couldn't track it down. In the thread part of the theory was a break in the gasket was causing coolant to get sucked into the engine causing a wash out. Mechanically everything checks out. Compression, leak down, coolant pressure, Endo scope, rebuilt induction, replaced sensors, replaced ignition, looked for loose wires, moved injectors around etc. If my fuel table adjustment truly did fix the problem then it's certainly a smoking gun. Otherwise it's very hard to recreation and isolate this condition to a specific situation without data logging and reviewing that data.
-
I certainly don't know enough to explain why things might be fixed, I leave that to the experts but they certainly seem like they are. To be clear it's not exactly a "flat spot". The car literally becomes unresponsive to throttle and has no "go" for a good one or two seconds when this happens and then just picks back up. Situation typically would be full throttle > lift > decel a for a second or two and let rpms drop to mid range or so > throttle again and the problem occurs. Problem really came from nowhere in particular. I think this was the first track day that I really had it which is a second track day since I replaced head gasket and got the tune. Id have to go back to the thread to see if the issue started happening before the tune but if I recall it did and the tune made it a bit better. ECU was not messed with before the tune during ownership and I still have original map if I need to reference it. During the track day if I recall my notes partial throttle after decel gave more problems than going full on wide open throttle so I did that throughout the day more often to bypass and bandaid the problem. It's all very strange. I believe I run VERY rich now but that's better than lean and I don't like having that problem in my RPMs. I'll keep taking notes and try to setup data logging this year maybe with the help of members here. I have wideband but it doesn't data log, it's standalone.

Happy 2025!

I stand corrected. I never messaged seller after I checked logs. I bought 2 additional ones for 42 gbp. About $26 USD each for me. Oh well. If anybody is on the fence they are nice units, that's why I have 3 now lol.

I was just going to say. I messaged seller for group shipping discount if I recall. They are usually glad to oblige. I think I ordered 3 for that reason when I did.
