As a good piece of mind upgrade and solution that doesn't get utilized enough I recommend getting a see through coolant system filter. The whole engine operation being a "black box" other than seeing the oil bothers me as somebody who likes to troubleshoot and has a lot of breakdowns so the more information you can get from your engine the better. You get to see nothing about cooling system due to the pressures and temperatures other than the overflow tank which is not ideal Getting this gives you a clear vision on your system and when your thermostat turns on/off, whether your water pump is performing well, whether you have dirt in your system and whether or not air is being introduced or is completely removed from it. I strongly recommend getting this installed. About $100 for the part I typically bought it on eBay (i bought the wrong size at first and then changed color too) https://shop.championcooling.com/Shop/Coolant-Filter

As a notorious previous head gasket troubleshooter of this community I'll share what I've learned Head gasket can fail in a few ways. Here are common ones 1) Into combustion chamber - coolant goes out exhaust or exhaust goes into coolant 2) Between combustion chambers - compression issue 3) Into oil - gets mixed into milk shake like substance 4) To outside - self explanatory can be coolant or oil 5) Ghost fail - no obvious signs but you know something isn't right and you've ran out of options First things first time to do some free testing. Going down this path will lead you to finding other issues you didn't know you've had and fixing them along the way. At your local auto part store (advance or autozone) and rent (you pay full price deposit down and get it back after) a compression tester and a coolant system leak down tester. Leakdown test would be nice too but requires a compressor and I don't believe they rent this. Those two things will establish a baseline of health and a starting point to further troubleshooting. If you're burning coolant then likely you have exhaust gases in the cooling system as well and there is a test for that but it's not cheap for a one time use thing ($40 or so) so if you have a friend one with one I'd ask to borrow it. https://www.amazon.com/Block-Tester-BT-500-Combustion-Leak/dp/B06VVBSFTF https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/powerbuilt-tools-loaner-tool-cooling-system-pressure-kit-22-piece-940427/9150049-P https://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/loaner-compression-tester-gauge

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
Vovchandr replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
I can attest to a lot said here. As a former Forum owner you come to realize that some people are just not Forum people. They don't like the format or don't understand it or don't want to learn it. Point is it just doesn't appeal to them, no matter how much we like it and realize the benefits of it. Its like trying to talk an old Alabama farmer into why he should try Sashimi. This has only gotten worse over the years as Facebook has killed forums. Numbers are only on the decline and getting ANY active member on a forum is a huge win especially one as niche as this. As an admin you know you will slowly lose people due to sales or habits or life or whatever but getting new active members is near impossible. I digress. In summary : Don't be so surprised people don't post a sale ad here. -
Fair enough. I must be mixing this up with something else that was US specific but cant figure out what I'm thinking of.

Pretty sure the VIN is only stamped on the plate because UK doesn't us US VIN system and only allocated for the plate for our use specifically. It's not like average car where many components will be stamped with the VIN. Too many off the shelf parts and too small of a manufacturer. As Carl said there should be a frame stamp but it won't be the same as the VIN. We also require the picture tax to be paid on the forums here. Is your vin SDKLDKLNS?

Stupid question but my Google fu got mixed results on this matter. I think it said that manufacturers can recert the belts but I struggle to find any links to that info or a form or similar. Might have to call them.

Does anybody have a good supply source for Luke belts?
-
Maybe. I'm open to most options right now. Ideal solution of OEM is no longer valid for me. Here is current setup and it's not ideal but it's good enough for me to not want to swap back and forth
-
That is correct. I don't want to spend money on stuff I don't like, I don't want to see them in pictures on the track after and on the odd chance I don't swap them back as soon as I hope I do, I don't want to see them all the time in garage, nor do I want to drive on street with them. Yes I feel strongly about this. The car came with a yellow valve cover which you never saw unless the hood was off and even that bothered me a lot. Yellow clashes drastically with a white/red/black theme.

I'm on the market for a new harness for NJMP his year and the option of going OEM Caterham is no longer available. Looking at options that aren't... Yellow. Post a pic or a link to what you have and how you like it. There is a very good chance that I'll be putting these in just for the track day once a year and switching back to regular ones after at this rate. Might have to do the seat bolt mod to make swap back and forth easier.

I guess so. Last time I ordered was 2018 or so and it was still an option. Very unfortunate. I didn't expect this dilemma -

Looks like Caterham no longer sells Caterham branded harnesses. It's either yellow Schroth or nothing. Now looking whether or not I can recert my Luke belts or find some other option that's not gaudy yellow -

Just looked at the time stamp on my belts. Not going for the last 2 years made it a time warp. Date is 2022. Glad I looked early. Time to source something. -

I had a few problems. One cable was sticking within housing. Two cable housing was popping out of ITB merger housing and getting hung on it causing rev. A blip might dislodge it and place it. 3 other issues such as IAC etc. 4 springs were also an issue. ..I've had ITBs rebuilt by Borla and dual spring installed by them. Too many variables!

Do you have a half hood for your Caterham?

I looked into mine too. HANs appears to be a 5 year cert. I bought it 3 years ago. I should be fine for this year. -
So, tell us a little about yourselves
