  1. Mondo

    Fresno State

Pretty gutsy to go for the win (lucky tip too).
  2. My son and I were one of those that waited hours to get in.... great show but I wouldn't do that again. If someone does want to go.... take Hwy58 east past the Edwards exit (and the mile of cars in the right lane) and go down to the next exit and come back from the other side (no one was coming from Boron/Barstow or Vegas). Would of saved 2 hours!
  3. Terrible news... especially around a Holiday. Sorry for your loss.
  4. Or anytime really... http://cohort11.americanobserver.net/latoyaegwuekwe/multimediafinal.html
  5. Hope your all enjoying the holiday... not a big football fan so snuck in here;)
  6. Scannon, that's exactly what I thought
  7. I would think the 7 will be a lot easier than what you've been doing... perhaps it'll allow you to be more creative... maybe a little more aerodynamic... Look forward to seeing your progress. Have fun!
  8. Slomove, I'm going to have to pass... family committment on Saturday. Thanks for keeping me in mind though.
  9. Replaced all the electrical in my Europa....
  10. I'd love to do that loop but I need a several more closer to home and shorter runs before the confidence is restored (haven't really gone more than about 130 miles at a time). I think my gas tank/fuel pump problem is solved (which really was the problem that left me stranded 3 times), beefed up bending suspension component, still have a problem with ECU and high revs... solved the sore butt problem with extra gel pad;) Plus the wife and kids are unmerciful on me when it comes to time driving vs working on the 7 and don't think I could take it so soon after my last escapade. Actually I'm pretty confident I'm down to the ECU problem and the car is quite drivable.... it's just that I've felt like this a couple times already so I'm a little gun shy. At some point, I know you've all been where I'm at with your car.
  11. I'd go with you from Taft to McKrittrick (loop back to Btown) but I'm averaging about a 30% chance of breaking down lately and have lost confidence in the car right now. I wouldn't want that to happen out there... on a holiday weekend to boot. I bought that "tilt-a-hitch" unit on a whim thinking I'd never use it ... low and behold, twice in a month (thank god I always have a motorcycle buddy out there with me; and an extra helmet).
  12. And no one will complain about him picking up women that are 30 years younger;)
  13. Just curious how loud your car is..... are those just straight pipes?
  14. This didn't just happen... we've had this materialistic "buy now, pay later" attitude for a couple decades now. Wall St & Main St both wanting the consumer to purchase our way out of fiscal problems. Add cutting taxes as the "be-all answer" both when the economy is good or when it turns bad.... never having the government invest during the good times in infra-structure etc... It all was a self-serving croc. All I know is it's not as simple as pundits, and general folk like to make it. To think we can get out of it in a year and not suffer pain, whether it's inflation or higher taxes is unrealistic. It's going to be a rough road ahead as some things will work and other things don't... we're going to have to take our lumps as we go forward. Which gives pessimists plenty to work with. All you can do is get out of debt and invest in things that will do well in inflationary times (my "general folk" recommendation).
  15. Got to admit I saw some reruns in the 80s and it was too strange for me as well.
  16. Pretty good, should make for a quick car considering how light the car probably is. It looks like you reached peak before 10,000rpm anyway so it shouldn't really matter seeing the last 1000rpm.
  17. Not me either.... but I do find them funny.
  18. Isn't Caterham kind of a more expensive fake Lotus? Let the flaming begin;) First I piss off Miata drivers... now Cat owners... what am I thinking
  19. I understand they make parachutes for small planes now, wonder how well that works..... glad you were able to find a spot to land and you can laugh about it now.
  20. Dang, it's already been a year... like the wheels too. Well, I'm still working out some bugs believe it or not. Thus, I haven't contacted you about Buttonwillow. Haven't forgotten... once I can trust the car any distance I'll give you a call and we can meet up somewhere. Not too many of us in central valley.
  21. Went to New York last month for my brothers wedding. In relation to that last clip showing the airplane landing in the river, his wedding was in the building/pier on the right. It has full length glass windows facing the river and we were told it was quite a show for those using the place at the time the plane came down.
