I thought the price was a bit stiff but figured how many is this guy going to really sale compared to the investment so that's how I rationalized it;) The deal is that it's only about an inch and a quarter in width. I doubt you'll find something that narrow anywhere else as that's not an issue with "regular" size cars. Plus I don't really need to put on the side mirrors now. Slightly illegal I know, but in California I probably have the same chance of getting pulled over for no front license plate (which never happens here though I got pulled over 3 times in Idaho for no front plate but that's another story).

My neighbor (little old lady) has 3 or 4 Great Dane show dogs... takes them to events in a big motorhome. They're freakin huge!

I thought I remembered you got it last year... Funny, I had to do the BAR without the SB100 about 6 months ago. It's a breeze... basically they type in some particulars and do a sniff test.

Rod, You'll have to see what the DMV will let you do until January (probably register as a temp so you can get insurance etc.... But don't wait until Jan 2nd to apply. My DMV had all the paperwork done the week before and started calling for 2 of us at 8am sharp. A 3rd person came in that morning and I don't think he got his. Not sure if all DMVs allow this.

You can always bundle up..... but the heat:ack:

I got my SB100 Smog Exemption:party: Drove around the last six months with the little pink temp numbers... actually haven't driven that much due to little issues but hope to change that this year.

I wouldn't count on going over the pass. But there's some nice roads thru Caliente/Twin Oaks/Bodfish to Isabella. Also up thru Glenville/Woody from Bakersfield to Isabella.... can go up to Mineral Hotsprings but then your getting kind of high up there. I can't take any overnight trips but I can definately show you a days worth of fun roads around here.

Go to the DMV Jan 2nd and hopefully get the smog exemption.... drove with temp sticker this year and would rather not do that a 2nd year. I think January might be the only month I dont drive (our rainy season;)

Thanks guys, It seems there was a little confusion between me and "wirewheel classics" out of Florida. He does have some (no brackets though) so hopefully I'll have them soon. The windshield on the S2K is pretty flimsy so I'll make something a little sturdier to beef up the sides and incorporate bracketry. I want to keep the windshield as I'm going to try for a shade top this spring (freaking hot here). Loren, I was thinking of getting a sheet of that plexiglass you use (Kevin told me about it). The stuff I have scratches way too easy. Heard it's a little on the $$$side.... pm me with the particulars when you get a chance. Thanks again

I'm one of the few with an Ultralite S2K that has a flat windscreen. I'd like to try and put some wind deflectors on it. I tried Caterham but gave up after several months of waiting (and no real time frame for delivery). An old Birkin dealer in Florida thought he has some but didn't. I looked on the Westfield site but it's not offered there.... Any suggestions?
