Time to replace the engine to S2000 !!
-
It looks like you had a good looking car and the price is pretty good. I'm sure the engine is ok too, otherwise the owner will tell you. The gauges and the speed is easy to sort out ---- something for you to do on winter. Yep, Christmas is early------------>Merry Christmas!!!

I think there is a guy here who own a Superformance. Do you have the description or the "vital statistic" of the car?

Sometimes you hate talking politics here but since the thread is all about buying parts abroad and affect our sinking dollars, I guess it qualifies. If the Bozos keeps printing money and inflating the economy by putting money in the bail out or putting to a bubble market (like cash for clunkers) instead of building industry, then its called a fake economy. When the bubble fake economy gets bigger and burst, it's hard to inflate and our children and their children will pay dearly. Chinese keeps lending us the money, they knew the money were used in a bubble fake economy. Sooner or later it will burst and we cannot get up -- Chinese wins. This issue is very serious, I pay attention more than my 7.

Well, I'm independent and I know what to do next time I vote.

Actually most auto part store in England are prompt and most of the sales person are polite. I have 3 Lotuses, I've been buying there for many years. What is not polite and prompt is our US dollar. The conversion really stink!! Our $$$$$$$$$ sinking faster than Titanic. These BOZOs in Washington keep printing money!!

I'm the other way, "fabrication has no rules: I love to tackle the impossible and make it possible. It's a challenge, food for the brain. Source are people. If you talk to someone, he/she will lead you to a promise land. "No man is an island"

How do you expect to fit that cherry picker intake in any 7 cars? Take the F1 intake and fit a weber you will degrade the power.

Go here http://boardroom.wscc.co.uk/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi Almost everyone using this standalone ecu. You certainly will get help.

That's kool - the owner put lots of work on those aluminum panels. Nice to look at it if clean and shinning----but too much maintenace cleaning an aluminum panels. I'm not dreaming to own a full aluminum panel car. It's a work of art though.

Awesome road!! Nothing can top that road ---nothing! Almost a racetrack design.

You should go back and restore one. They are fun, cheap bullet proof engine. The Z is the "mother of all rice boys". We have a little group here: http://yfrog.com/2rnikz007j (My buddy's Z). I have 3 differentials. I beefed the original R200 and installed a quaife atb-hoping this will hold. If not I can try my Rb20det diff, if not I have a 300zx twin turbo diff. My transmission came from Rb25det. I can't use the Rb26dett - its 4 wheel drive style. Z is my favorite car.

I have 2 V8's 2000 & 2001 & my purple rain Z with Nissan Skyline Rb26dett http://img8.imageshack.us/i/04242008045.jpg/ http://img136.imageshack.us/i/04242008033.jpg/ http://img21.imageshack.us/i/04242008044.jpg/ http://img21.imageshack.us/i/04242008057.jpg/ http://img25.imageshack.us/i/04242008054.jpg/ http://img26.imageshack.us/i/zzzpurple.jpg/ http://img43.imageshack.us/i/zapengine44.jpg/

Yeah, the guy has Birkin with Honda s2000 engine. I met him but I can't remember his name. A while back I used to see him raced Fiat X19 and later Corvettes in Lime Rock. I don't remember if his last name is "Baker". Update: I found Kim Baker Dax is not possible in the USA unless what the guy (from Toronto) did. He went to Europe and bought a Dax Rush. His first choice is the Dokervoort but beyond his budget. He also has S2000 engine. I met him in Scarborough Ontario (at the car show). My car is a Westfield. If you know around it, definitely will fit.

It all depends what type of seven the poster will be buying. Fabrication has no rules, anything is possible. Yes I used the Honda 6 speed. Nope, I avoid dry sump, my purpose is to get as much reliability from Honda install.
-
First -- what chassis would you like to buy? Why mess around with JDM engine? There are so many things involve then find out later the engine too wide too tall and will not fit to the bay. I've done Cosworth conversion, 4AGE conversion, hayabusa turbo conversion and now Honda s2000. I sincerely believed, Honda s2000 is the ultimate conversion for me. Ultralight, Westfield, Dax can accomodate Honda engine. I met the first guy who imported Birkins using Honda s2000 engine. He lives in Springfield Massachusetts racing Fiat & Corvette. Give me time to think the guy's name. I know you are leaning toward Birkins. Honda S2000 engine is class by itself, people were facinated looking at the lump. 4Age is awesome too but if I will do it over again, I will use the short block of 4Agze (supercharged version-same block used in atlantic engine) and go for turbo (toyota supercharger will not fit). 4age is 116 hp and the supercharged version 145. In the turbo trim, you can harness power close to 200hp. No need to replace the 4Agze pistons & rods. It's already forged. I have one if you are interested. When everything said and done, you will spend gazillion... find out Honda's reliability & 240 hp is hard to beat.

rethinking honda s2000 question
BusaNostra replied to kennyrayandersen's topic in General Sevens Discussion
If you are going HONDA, talk to Kevin Anderson. He is knowleable in his build. Very helpful person. Honda electronics a bit more complex. He knows to run around the system. He will help you to the bone. -
rethinking honda s2000 question
BusaNostra replied to kennyrayandersen's topic in General Sevens Discussion
" Haven't seen the Westfield with the honda motor" In a traditional size 7 (with the exception of WCM Ultralight), I have seen more Westfield with Honda S2000 engine. I'm sure with this.....'cause I have one. -

Ok--here is "my clone is better than yours": a real 7 waiting for you--buy it now before someone grab it. FOR SALE 1967 Lotus Super 7 Series II. The 1600cc crossflow engine has been rebuilt by a professional Formula Ford race shop. It has only been run on the dyno. The frame has been fully triangulated and a "racing" roll bar was added. The body has been re-skinned by a professional race shop. It has a fuel cell, brand new wheels, and rebuilt dash with brand new instruments. It needs shocks, brakes and final assembly. I have run out of space in my garage, so it is for sale for the best offer. Dick Ryan Castro Valley CA Home 510-886-1581 Work 650-312-4022 rryan@frk.com -
Anything over 100mph in a 7 (especially with a traditional wing) is death wish.

This is the latest Hushpower, designed for Lotus 7 and Cobra car. They are quite @ idle but hi-pitch in high rpm. At 8,000-9,000rpm almost the same sound of a Yoshimura when I had it in my 7 turbo Busa. Just what Westtexas said, it has cool shell technology. You actually can touch the muffler when the engine is running. I don't know if they release this muffler for sale. Flowmaster gave it to me to test in a Lotus7 type car. I agreed to use them in exchange of a feedback. One thing I can tell you, this muffler is "materiales fuerte" made is USA. This ain't gucci fake made in china. http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/6356/hushpower2.jpg
