  1. Mazda, My son did his first RC solo on the 1-17-10. It was 20 years to the day after he soloed a Christen Eagle II, and Swift that had many mods, sticks, canopy, 210 HP, and CS prop. Also the Glasair III. A year after he did his check ride in the Glasair III. The Eagle was 150K, Swift was 160K, and the Glasair was 250K flat out. I think that makes me older than you.
  2. Any time I travel, even if I know where I'm at or going I have it on. It will keep an up date on ETA & any stops I program in. It is also great to find a way around problems. Like others I never use it in my local area though. I have used it when I had a speedometer problem also.
  3. Airbus has had some bad problems, with computers, not allowing the pilot to control the power. This is the best story told to me by a person on departing Mexico. The A/C had some issues and after hours of repairs, the flight crew refused to fly it, so they got another crew. I was told they didn't time out either. The fool said he was several hours late due to this!
  4. These folks had no idea how close they came. YouTube - China Airlines 737-800 nearly overshoots runway at takeoff

    Great Link

Take time to watch this video from beginning to end. I guarantee that this phenomenal young man will put you in a better frame of mind for this day, and thankful for what you have. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=9xwCG0Ey2Mg
  6. Bob, You are twisted, but we put our money where our mouths are.
  7. It looks great, but I doubt it would be as much fun to drive as the 7.
  8. Bob, I knew there was something I liked about you.

    Nice footwork

The skill of the pro rally drivers is incredible. I don't know how they can fly and slide through those narrow walls of people, it would freak me out. I think some of the specators would even try to throw small children at the cars for sport.
  10. I just put the engine & back in, I hope for no oil leak this time. I'm just making some small changes to the 7 now as it is ice cold out and 8" of snow here. I used my mower to mow the snow from the drive way today.
  11. I also have drove RT 550, the first time in My Newell Motorhome. At 43' and towing a car, I required both lanes on some turns when south bound from Ouray. The wife sure didn't like that ride. We stopped for lunch on top of Red Mountain Pass. On each side of the road there is a pull off area. If you get out and look close there is a old mine dug in to the mountain on each side of the road about 50' to 75' from the road. There is also a high altitude lake just off 550 on the east side that is loaded with trout. Try to spend 4th of July in Ouray some time, it is great. As you can see, the long W.B. was the problem on the turns. This was taken at the top Of Red Mountain Pass. One of the mine openings is just above the rear of the M.H.
  12. Yes I did a large hill, not too much of a % incline though, much like I71 north of Cincinnati. I was able to pass cars quite well on it, the TDI did well. It was very stable, even when I induced imputs at speed. I'm pleased with the results so far, and expect none. The question will I be, by next year? I expect 25 MPG + towing at speed limits. My 03 F150 (6) Auto. did about 12 MPG towing it with the open trailer.
  13. On the 20 Mile test tow, the Jetta was still pulling strong @ 90 MPH. Starting, passing, even stopping all was better than expected. I can look into the rear view mirror and see the car in the trailer, neat view. All I need to do now is kill the nice looking high shine on the back door. I sure would not want it to blind someone from behind. I have been hit with the glare from some truck mud flap trim. I was careful not to dull or scratch it, then the light went on or off and I knew I could not have that giant mirror in the rear.
  14. Thanks, I did *228 and it reprogramed. I don't see any difference in Signal strength, indicated on the phone. I will try to make a few calls tomorrrod.
  15. I looked through settings, what am I looking for?
  16. I'm still looking for that little Verison Bas**** "Can you hear me now"? For my sell telephone to work at home, I need to put my L foot in the toilet and hold onto a light fixture. They added a cell tower about 1 mile away, still no help.
  17. Jerry, please post directions, to your Home Depot, and Lowes.
  18. About all of my neighbors have been great, the few others are nice. I don't shovel the drive way and don't have a snow blower, or 4WD. Two years ago I filled the bed of a F150 I had with snow and just made tracks to knock down the very deep snow. I have a very wide flat driveway about 300' long so I can just drive over it. In a few days to a week the snow just disappears. Ohio weather?
  19. Merry Christmas to all Slngsht, I have been flying RC aircraft, sorry they are RV aircraft
  20. It sure would be nice to give the PX the hot exhaust to deal with. Not, it is best, that I deal with it. I sure would like to have the engine, CF & IRS as a starting point! When I park my 7 I try to stay by it till it cools or I hang a sign HOT EXHAUST so people don't get hurt.
  21. Yes, I can move around, but due to the low height, it isn't fun. I didn't pay extra for the UV poly, as it will be in the hanger for 98% of it's life. Yes lighter & less cost of aluminum. I can remove the enclosure with about 12 bolts. The front door for front hook-up would stay in place. I used 1/2" bolts that were about 2" longer than was needed. I then added springs to them. The trailer can flex as they do while in use and the enclosure should float some. The .063 1" lower long sq. tube likely would crack if if it had to flex like the trailer will. I hauled the Roto lift with the trailer prior to enclosing it.
  22. Thanks, but I wanted clear for the light. It will spend it's life in my hanger when not in use. I had the option of tint when I purchased it. I did the .020" Ploy Carb for the weight issue. The little Jetta is only a 2.0 TDI. I will find out tomorrow how it tows. Now 950 LBS E.W. 2180 LBS with the 7
  23. I just up loaded photos of the trailer with the 7 in it to my photos. I lack the skills to upload them here. Oh, F.M.
