  1. 2 years ago, she got the LS1 / T56 transplant. Last year it was different rearend, different front suspension, brakes, etc... and new side panels. So, this is normal.
  2. BTW, most of these sites are already listed in the "links: section... see it in the corner of the top nav
  3. Don, great work as usual
  4. Seth, check out OT... I just posted up an article about the new Chevy Cobalt SS... Looking at Nurburgring lap times, it's nearly identical to a R32 :willy: (and my trusty C5). Performance of cars has improved SO much the last few years. BTW, I just noticed the subject says best winter alternative to a 7. I thought you said "best alternative to a 7". That didn't make any sense. I guess reading is fundumental.
  5. heh, yes. Hopefully with the tunnel modified, I can get my old Kirkeys back and bolted up.
  6. She will be taking her final trip of the year tomorrow. Destination is Snowshe, WV, where the winter modding season will begin :hurray: Just a few cosmetic mods planned for this year: 1- Roll bar extension, removable roll cage. 2- Modify the frame tunnel area to make it narrower and taller 3- Modify seat belt mouting points 4- Modify and move the dash back (more cabin room) - also, relocate the LCD to a recessed location behind the steering wheel 5- Custom gas tank 6- Re-redo the front Aarms for better adjustability 7- Minor machine work on the front spindles for getting a tad more room for the rubber boots 8- I might play with the pedal assembly too 9- Make an actual housing for the tail lights, or get different ones 10- Paint the nose and rear fenders 11- Take the rest of the paint off aluminum parts In addition to these, I'll be acquiring some better rubber for the current wheels (RA-1's or R888), as well as a 2nd set with some slicks.
  7. can you show a pic of the angle you're talking about?

  9. The new Chevy Cobalt SS circled the ring in 8:22. Sure, that's not in the Z06 / GT3 /new Skyline territory, but just a few years ago, it took a C5 or M3 to get those kinds of numbers... http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/28/officially-official-2008-chevy-cobalt-ss-bows-at-sema/ Not bad for a FWD econo performance car.
  10. I've owned an admitadly "strange" seven for a couple of years now. IMO, what you'll find is that there aren't too many "waxers" in this crowd. Most everybody is either interested in road racing, autox, or cruise events - although there are quite a few members who also do the occasional car show. There are 7 snobs as well (brand, or even which original Lotus series, etc...) , but we've really tried hard HERE to stay away from that, and I think it has worked out pretty well.
  11. What kind of speeds were you hitting?
  12. oh crap. I'm sure that can cause a few wrecks
  13. There are others? try these... http://www.californiacaterhamclub.com - they are not just caterham centric. alot of their members post here as well, and a certain member over there hates our guts for some reason  http://www.locostusa.com - for the DIY guys. Great forum, full of interesting topics discussing every aspect of building cars, etc... Again, a few of the guys jump back and forth between here and there.
  14. I love the gauges. Nice touch.
  15. oh my lord... that place looks like it's pretty high speed. I might have to trek up there next year.

    joke

A man and his ever nagging wife went to Jerusalem on vacation. While there, the wife passed away suddenly. The undertaker explained that “you can ship her home for $5000 or bury her here in the Holy land for $150.” The guy told him to ship her home. The undertaker asked “Why ship her home for so much when she could be buried in this wonderful land for so little?” He replied “Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and 3 days later rose from the dead. I just cant take that chance….”
  18. stan, thanks for the picture. I definitely need to modify my setup.
  19. Finally an autox a STi can win :surprised: before :boxing: ologist sees this
  20. Went to get flu shots with Cameron today. Doc came in and took temps using an ear thermometer. Cameron said "be careful, he has black stuff in his ears." Got a wierd look from the Doc... Only Se7en owners understand.
  21. probably because they hadn't heard of my car

    Awesome race

That is SO true, except if there was also a Corvette involved. Then it's automatically the Corvette's fault
  23. I think to get good times, you have to preload the mouse button as much as possible... so you want to have it near threshold of clicking. The first time I tried it, every attempt was in the .19-.21 range. I had a few runs with .15-.16 almost all the way, but they got ruined by putting a little too much weight on the button and having a false click. heh, not that I'm competitive or anything.
  24. awesome
