  1. Never been to any meetings, but we do have militia here in TN. Perhaps they are just Bubba's, I dunno, I am one myself. But those I do know can be pretty stealthy and can shoot accurately. I used to have a gun rack in my truck, but oddly enough, it was in the way when we needed to strap a baby seat in the back so its not there now. Being so spread out across the country we see a large difference in society. Basically, people are good, will help you out. However, not to far from that well lit street where the kids are playing is a dim alley that smell like urine and garbage. Here there be monsters. I have been to some real hell holes in my treks to deliver the unnecessary goods that our country seems to love. Chicago, Detroit, NY/NJ, Houston, Cincy, they all have some seriously bad areas. Unfortunately for me, these areas seem to have alot of warehouse space. I used to carry in my truck, though its highly illegal. Though even the police/troopers/DOT that I know agree that we should be allowed. I have had to use my gun to scare off would be thieves (display only, but I am also a very big man and am never sure if it was the gun, my tire thumper, or just me that scared them away), once I used my semi to pin them (the car) to the wall until the cops got there. We used to be told DO NOT STOP in certain areas. Not even for stop signs. This was only on high value loads ie Cigarettes, Nike's, thankfully I do not deliver those anymore so maybe those things have changed. So, are we really that civilized? One of the things that make it safe for those that do not carry might be those that do. Good discussion, though, as we all know how sometimes political/religous forums can get out of hand. Hell, Camaro vs Mustang gets out of hand, let alone something serious. As to my home, my dogs will not let in intruder get close enough to take my gun. I also have a big stick AND a gun. I won't matter about the Tigers, they will still score on my Reds :banghead: Prarie dog shot looks like 588 yards, at least thats what I thought the pic said.
  2. A few Christmas's I got my pic taken, $185 dollars (kinda ran a red light, changed on me, but I did do it). The Fee/fine went to a private company that runs the camera. They also send you a HD video of you doing it. So, I probably deserved it, however, I dislike the private company part. It was a small town in Ohio, not where I would expect a camera.
  3. Saw a comment on another forum about it, "Go ahead, keep kicking it, wonder what sort of memory it has.."
  4. Hehe as I know my tastes run a bit odd of even eclectic seven owners, i kinda like it. Not to mention it may fulfill the requirements I am trying to meet to get to play in rallyx and autox in mine. Does this count as a production car? Might make a nice bad weather seven/race car for my wife (she liked it too)

Well, the rebadged GTO/Holden did not work out so well for them. I hope this one does, I seriously looked at trying to import either the Holden or Ford Ute stateside a while back, but just way to many restrictions. The Boss Ford Ute, all I can say is wow. I'll seriously consider trading in my F150 on one of these. Especially if they come with the tow package available in AUS, as its pointless if it cannot pull my boat.
  6. That is Tim Whitakers car unless I am mistaken. From the pics I saw, its very well done. Its listed on about page 3 of the for sale section, I recognized the custom valve covers. Lots of pics of there, along with some prices, pretty fair imo.
  7. If thats not a Super Stalker, he must have some pretty solid mods to the engine to get 260 hp out of it. If you scoll through the for sale section, most are asking in the 25k range for the Stalkers. Since thats about what it costs to build one anyway. Looks alot like one that was for sale here a bit ago and I think he was moving to that area. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=1763
  8. I doubt they would last a 1000 years, concrete has a life expecancy too. But yeah, they would last a long time. Though, gonna be hard for the economy to function. Catch 22 I guess.
  9. Another note before I get back to my power hour, some states have let some industries get by with bigger trucks, Michigan being one (ever seen some of the 6-10 axles trucks?), but its just my example, there many others (KY coal trucks). Even with the added axles and taxes, many of these trucks are simply too heavy for the roads, but are allowed after pressure applied to the govt by industry. These trucks are allowed to carry more that the standard 80k. Some in excess of 120k. I am not talking special oversize loads here, these are normal loads of coal, potatoes, and other assorted everyday freight. Watch them turn if you have not, they don't turn, more like drag. And rip the pavement while doing it. The only reason these companies want this is the bigger trucks carry more, meaning less loads (less tax too) so it costs them less to make the products they make. Add in the weather to the problems listed in previous post and poof, nasty roads.
  10. I think in the US its also a volume question. How many gallons do we consume each year? More gallons would mean more money in taxes, even if less per gallon. I try to leave work at work, so I do not have the numbers in front of me. But, we went just shy of 290k in the semi last year, at 6.2 mpg comes out to 48,000 gallons of fuel. With fuel prices, that tally's to over 150k in fuel cost alone. With the states I run in (TN, KY, AL, IL, and OH the fuel tax per gallon averages at about 62 cents per gallon so we paid about $31,000 in fuel tax. Heh, not counting some other wonderful tax's. Most trucks in our company do not run as far as my co driver and I do, but with over a thousand trucks, at just half the miles that makes for 15 million per year. We make up just a small percentage of the trucks and cars on the road, so I think road conditions are more mis management, poor quality and corruption. Gah, you made me think work, I going to go watch some power block and get back in the zone. http://www.api.org/statistics/fueltaxes/
  11. You have not lived until you have power slid an 80k lbs machine. Donuts in a semi is a unique experience.
  12. 3 Sevens will come to visit you this eve, that of One laps Past, Present, and Future.....
  13. Heheh Don't think he will get much input from mine. As the only way its going anywhere is on a trailer. Not much fun to ride on, esp if you saw my trailer. (The railing is made out of old industrial sprinkler pipe, including a sprinkler head or two, hehe how many high dollar trailers even have a built in fire suppression system?) Don't think mine will be ready until next spring, though I am always hopeful. I think Jack sold his, or at least there was one for sale in Nashville a while back by someone named Jack. 7's are rare in our neck of the woods. To get a ride, your going to have to get at least 3 hours away from Nashville that I am aware of. In your DD, wouldn't cost much and it would be well worth it. The frappr map is nice, but I don't think all have put their pins on the map.
  14. Just out of curiosity, got a pic of the view from the mirror?
  15. Or perhaps a requested "donation" of items purchased though the site. ie, on another site i frequent its 1% to a maximum of like a few dollars. A painless bit for the buyer/seller and an added bit for the site. That was the for sale/wanted sections are not restricted. There were sites that had items I was interested in, but not a member of said site, therefor could not post in those section, and I bought them elsewhere. Paypal would be nice too.
  16. because judging by the mileage on some of them, they are not driven much.
  17. Are you sure you want a wet suit? Dry suit would be better I think. I would recommend motorcycle gear from assorted manufacturers. Check out the Bike magazines, they almost all have a "gear" issue that goes through them all. I used to ride my bikes year round, through rain sleet snow, even an ice storm. Most of the time, just a bunch of layers, and a decent rain suit along with some rainx and fogx for my helmet. Though, being a motorcycle sandwich during a bad downpour and thunderstorm between 2 semi's is a bit disconcerting.
  18. If I had it, I would buy it. But then again, I would probably ruin it as I would drive it till it said uncle. I remember when I was a kid, my dad bought a new truck, and got mad when I came back in with mud all over it, and a dent in the bed where I ran my jon boat up into it.
  19. A very good game!
  20. After the street racing and other stupid stuff I did as a kid, losing my lic was one of the better things to happen to me, even if I didnt know it at the time.
  21. I would've bought a Stalker (I like them all, but they seem to have the most room for those of us of considerable girth) already built. So I wouldn't feel repressed while others were driving theirs. That way I could drive one while building the LC. I may break down and do it anyway.
  22. After reading that article, slap some chains and snow tires, or even studded and go drifting
  23. Hehe It won't run on my computer for some reason.
  24. My folks used to be stationed there, and for those that have never been to a Carlisle event, its quite an experience. Kinda like thinking you can take in all of disney in 5 days.
