http://www.upworthy.com/they-took-a-camera-to-a-remote-area-in-greenland-and-what-they-recorded-is-simply-terrifying Watch it full screen, turn up the volume a bit and watch it to the end to get a perspective of how big it actually was.

Just found this slomo video. It looks like the loader never impacted the wall so he may be unhurt. It also looks like Jules got his head down some what and maybe missed the counter weight on the loader. I think that if his helmet had hit the weight it wouldn't appear to be intact as he passed the loader.

The broadcasters mentioned early on that a track marshal was injured but I have neither heard nor seen any mention of it since.

Taber, You're welcome. The green/yellow is OK for me too. It doesn't make much sense that the same shoe in blue with a different number on the toe would cost nearly $100 more. Blue with a 7 on the toe is a perfect match for my Caterham.

Just ordered a pair, total was $48 with the discount plus free shipping. They also have a Sir Stirling Moss shoe in blue which I wanted to match my blue Caterham but it was not on sale and was listed for $148. Link to the shoes: http://www.shoebuy.com/hunziker-collection.htm?dnl=1

Mike, What speed were you making at the end of the main straight?

I have no fiduciary interest in this kickstarter project other than making a pledge. Jo and William Taylor are friends and members of LOCO. They run a publishing company called Coterie Press here in Colorado that mainly publishes high quality car books, many about Lotus. This kickstarter project is to fund the Auto-Archives, see details below. More about Coterie Press: http://www.coteriepress.com/Home Skip ----------------------- Auto-Archives: Automotive & Motor sport library and research center, is a 501© 3 nonprofit organization, located in Denver, Colorado. Within our office space we have 75,000+ automotive books and magazines from all over the world, as well as over 100,000 images from the photographic archives of Peter Darley, Ian Catt, William Taylor, and the Motor Racing collections of Classic Team Lotus and the Polygon Gulf Collection. The archive also has 1,000+ Race Event Programs, Race Media/Press Packs and probably the most comprehensive Lotus archive in the world. With our 100,000 plus collection of historic motor racing images, we felt that the best way to share such an impressive array of motor history is by highlighting a special group of images and presenting them in a fantastic 12x12-inch, large format book 'Pit & Paddock.' The large format, 256-page book will feature over 200 images from the Auto-Archives library, all taken by Peter Darley in the 1960s and 70s. Funds to produce and publish the book are being raised through the 'Kickstarter' website that some of you may have heard of. The project went 'live' last week, so please do have a look at it and let me know what you think. Check out the 3 minute promo video we made here in the office. The selected images give the reader an insight into life off the track, and behind the scenes at race meetings found at paddocks and pit areas throughout Europe. Here at Auto-Archives, we are excited to bring you this stunning collection of historic images from the depths of our photo archives. These unique never before seen images portray a world that is long gone. For this book to become a reality we felt that crowd funding through Kickstarter was the best way to reach out to the community of motor racing enthusiasts. Here is where you along with your fellow historic vehicle followers come into play by very kindly spreading the word of our Pit & Paddock book project via your website, newsletter, blog or social media outlets. Or, even by word of mouth! First a little bit more about who is involved: Photographer Peter Darley became hooked on motor racing first by racing a Mini Cooper in the UK back in the 60s, and they by travelling to as many races as he could. Living near so many circuits, he photographed many great races, at many great circuits, and in doing so visually chronicled an incredible golden period of motor sport in the 60s & 70s. Interesting bit, what is the book about: After a difficult selection process, the volunteers at Auto-Archives narrowed down the images to those taken at ten circuits around the U.K. and Europe. Deciding which circuits to choose developed into several lively discussions here at Auto-Archives. The monumental task of going through all the images and picking the images to support and breathe life to each circuit called for many coffee and tea breaks. Who is supporting Pit & Paddock: Lord March a good friend of Peter Darley, has kindly written the foreword to the book. Lord March is hugely respected as the creator of both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Goodwood Revival, and the Goodwood circuit is of course one of the tracks featured in Pit & Paddock. Furthermore, lending their support to the project, are Dan Gurney and Sir Jackie Stewart. They have both signed a small number of special, Limited Edition Art Prints of themselves. These prints are available to our Kickstarter pledgers depending on the pledge level. The images were taken by Peter Darley in the early 60s at Goodwood and Snetterton respectively. The most important part, YOU: The Kickstarter page for Auto-Archives project is . We only have 28 days and counting to rally enough support to successfully fund this project. What we are asking from you is just your support in helping us, Auto-Archives to achieve the task of publishing this great book. We greatly appreciate your interest and remember anything helps. The book is our first undertaking to spread Auto-Archives mission “To be a world leader in the archiving of historic automotive & motor racing research materials". From everyone here at Auto-Archives, thank you for reading this email and for spreading the word. If you have any questions, comments or would like to further help our Kickstarter project contact us at library@auto-archives.org or call at 303.933.2526. Keep in touch with our progress via Twitter: @auto-archives, Facebook page: Auto-Archives Library. Visit us at http://www.auto-archives.org. Regards, JO TAYLOR

Great video! I loved how quickly you caught up to the next car after each pass even though the next car was usually not even in sight when you made the pass. Well done!

One other point on LOG 35, the chairman asked everyone if you are even thinking about attending to make your hotel reservations now as that helps with both the event hotel's perks for us as well as giving the national club board more confidence in us as the host motel. Reservations at the host hotel can be cancelled with no penalty if done 73 hours prior to the first day of the reservation.

I use the Permatex Ultra Gray sealant. Same stuff Mazda uses from the factory. Only downside it that it is a bitch to break the seal and clean up the surfaces for the next time around. I'd suggest replacing the water pump as long as you are in there.

I just returned from the LOCO monthly meeting where I expressed the concerns some people on this forum have about being snubbed at the LOG. The LOG chairman said all Se7ens are welcomed with open arms. There will always be a few of the snobs in any club but not LOCO. Take a look at the club's home page: http://www.lotuscolorado.com/ On the lower left of the home page is a picture of 7 Se7ens most of which are clones of various types. This was taken at the British Motoring Conclave show. I believe that year there were as many Se7ens as other Lotus cars in the Lotus area. This year there were only my Caterham and a Lotus 7 S4 which was actually built after the transition from Lotus to Caterham. The LOG 35 homepage is at: http://lotusownersgathering.com/ One of the events at the LOG will be an assault on Pikes Peak. We will be the first cars allowed on the mountain that Sunday AM. The road is owned by the city of Colorado Springs and we will pre-stage and a ranger will collect the fees and give us our window stickers then escort us to the gate. There will be an Elise pace car but it is understood that we will be driving briskly and not observing the speed limits. This club does tend to haul ass in the mountains.

Hank, How was the sizing? Do you recommend buying a size larger or smaller or just your normal size?
-
At LOG 27 (Aspen) there were Caterhams, Birkins and a Donkervordt. More clones than Lotus 7s. No one was made to park in the back. IIRC there were about 15 Sevens plus several Mark VIs and even older Lotus cars. At LOG 31 (Las Vegas) there was a single Mark VI and my Caterham. I parked behind the VI since he got there first. I was never made to feel that I was a 2nd class citizen. LOCO is the host club for LOG 35 and they are Se7en friendly.

I'm guessing this engine threw a rod and/or broke a piston and someone didn't get all the chunks out of the pan.

1.2 million euros for just the trailer, no tractor??? No wonder the team is hurting for cash.

Road & Track 7 vs SP300R vs Exige V6 cup

As always, beautiful images. -
Lotus has countered that rumor saying there will be a US compliant Evora for sale in the USA in 2016. http://jalopnik.com/rejoice-the-lotus-evora-will-return-to-america-in-2016-1638237968

I doubt it but we will find out when Mighty Mike shows up with his car.

Caterham 480 Article in Car Builder Magazine
scannon replied to scannon's topic in General Sevens Discussion
At the time of the writing of that book, there had been 81 companies that had produced versions of the Lotus 7. At the British Motoring Conclave a couple of weeks ago I discovered that one of our LOCO members has one of the last Robin Hood Sevens, still in the crate as well as an original Lotus 7, disassembled and awaiting restoration. -
LOCO is a very Se7en friendly club, there are more clones in the club than actual Lotus 7s. At a LOG (or most any other Lotus gathering) there will always be a few die hards who will look down their noses at our Se7ens but that's OK, I don't need to waste my time on them. Unfortunately LOG 35 coincides with the PBB and the PBB is my first priority at this time so I probably won't be at the LOG.

Great show. Would the FAA allow a show like that here in the USA?

ARRRG, (it be National Speak Like a Pirate Day today) that yellow V8 car be churning in me mind all weekend. Details?

That red demo Caterham is the first Seven I ever drove and was responsible for a big change in my life. It was in that car that I learned that there finally was a Seven pedal box just barely large enough for my feet. Ten days later there was a new Caterham SV rolling chassis in my garage. It was at the same Woody Creek track two years prior that I drove the demo car and had my Seven epiphany. No idea who that blue Seven belongs to. There was nice a collection of pre-Lotus 7s at LOG27. http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii584/scannon929/DSC03006_zpsbfd3b833.jpg http://i1261.photobucket.com/albums/ii584/scannon929/DSC03005_zps11cfb909.jpg
