I agree that was a Great Generation. And I had one that I feel moulded me into the person I am today. I only had one Grandfather, and he taught me all the good things you need to know as a young man. He's been dead for over 30 years, and I still say to myself, What would Pop-Pop do .. Damm I miss that guy...

I found this on PistonHeads. Shows the cam buckets enlarged for really high lift cams. Crazy in a good way...

Karl, I guess you are doing this with the head still on the block. How are you going to keep the metal chips and metal dust from filling up the valves seats and then dropping it down the bores and or getting stuff hung up on the valves on start up. Won't be very good for the piston skirts and bores. Sounds like it should be done on a CNC machine, and then put the head in the hot tank for a proper clean up. Good Luck, Steve

Stuart, How's the transmission, driveshaft and rear ,going to handle the BDA. Is this a big jump in power . I ask because I see you left the transmission in the car..

Skip, The window below the metal bar can-will slide down the inside of the door for an open window. Everything above the metal bar is part of the top. I like the sound of it, its still loud. The C-B-E will work with my top, I can fold it into t-tops. Something I should have done yesterday.. Steve

I, unlike Skip, had the top on. I went to the local car wash and gave it the much needed bath. Then went for a run to see if the header -sidepipe would fall off. It didn't. Then stopped off at the local state park for a smoke and a mens room trip. Then drove off to my back road trip. What a great day.

Stu, My old header was Jet-Hot coated 10 years ago, if it's prepared correctly it last a long time. As Karl said, Hackensack is alot closer than coming down my way.
