  1. I just drove thru some pretty heavy rain Sunday with half hood and doors. Pretty much stayed dry. Some blowing rain. soft bits makes a storm cap (like shower cap) that is specifically designed for towing. just watch the sizing and where your mirrors are etc when ordering https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/slr-storm-cap-1032-p.asp
  2. Yes. A national treasure.
  3. Nice to meet you @CarlB Sorry I almost scratched your new rear bumper in turn 7.
  4. I am planning on getting one before Sept. likely go with a Simpson hybrid so I don’t have to worry as much about the interaction with the harness. I wonder if the track shop would ever consider some type of rental situation. But I guess that would open up some form of liability that they likely won’t want to take on. Hate to see the rule deter anyone from joining.
  5. Thanks again @Croc for the hospitality and sharing your track knowledge. I learned a lot from everyone there. An amazing time. Put her back in garage today with the odometer just passing 1300 miles since I got her earlier this month. I am exhausted.
  6. Well the car survived the track day and getting there and back. An amazing day.
  7. For roof coverage. I just have my half hood on me. If I went for a multi day journey were rain might happen I would take my full hood. People like the tonneau but you might have to install additional poppers if it wasn’t outfitted with them before. Some folks use the shower cap https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/long-nose-shower-cap-upgraded-979-p.asp I have an sv chassis so more footwell space. I still need to wear very slim shoes. there are some forum postings on peddle adjustment. And some folks bend the throttle pedal. Luckily my gas and brake spacing was pretty good right out of the box. https://caterham420detailedbuildblog.co.uk/2020/05/23/pedal-adjustment/
  8. Did my first oil change yesterday. My first and the cars first. On the advise of fellow forum folks I got an extractor pump and sucked it right out. Pulled the finger filter. Got about 6.2 liters out. Had a bit of a time getting the oil filter off. Pulled the inertia switch and spun it up till it registered pressure. Pretty straightforward even for a mechanical novice. I also tweaked the Speedo which was reading fast. A bit of trial and error and got but got it dialed in (ended up landing on a ppu 042081 ). 13” staggered with Avon zzs tires. The calibration table said (039440) but was off. programmed the shift lights as well. It’s nice to be able to dim them as I went for my first night drive. I gambled and got some ppf headlight covers (for a Harley). They were a tad too big so had to carefully cut them. Not perfect but it will work for now. Hopefully it protects the lenses. getting excited for the first track day next weekend. Fingers crossed she stays together and on the track.
  9. I also got a noco. https://a.co/d/508q1N6 And this https://a.co/d/5ieIE1O plugs into 12v under dash. and tunnel bag from soft bits https://www.softbitsshop.co.uk/the-touring-tunnel-bag-x28vinylx29-80-p.asp it’s been great. But like @IamScotticus Idea of sliding insurance and reg underneath it. I also got the half hood from soft bits with ez in zips. Haven’t needed to use it yet but I like that it’s in the boot and quickly deployable.

  21. There is an importer in Chaffee ny (where I just picked up my new 420r). If you were looking for a new one or one he might have on consignment you should talk to him. greg (at) timemachinesauto.com he has a few in his shop that you could look at. also check the cars for sale section. A weekly roundup of new and ongoing sales listings are there. This group is great if you have any specific questions to help guide your purchase. charlie
