After attending this years meet up. I noticed a similar issue on my 2023 420r dry sump. While I initially chocked it up to over filling the oil (I drained some after I noticed the spray). It continued thru the day. The breather catch can never had any oil in it - but did have residue. I believe it’s just passing thru somewhat aerosolized and then dripping down the inside of the side skin. Of course it then drips off the rail and, at speed, ends up giving the rear left wing and my elbow a nice coating. @11Budlite are you still happy with the radium tanks performance? Other than gaining some height by installing it in the scuttle was there any other motivation for placing it there ? Since it only really happens on track I think this will slot into a winter project.

Must have been an earlier session. I could have sworn the latter runs were mistake free ;-)

You could get something like this and either have it charged at home. Have it in the boot charging (depending on your 12v situation - cig lighter or if you have a 12v in your boot ). That way it’s there and always charged. Jump the car when needed. But agree it’s not a long term solution https://a.co/d/7AdSgNj battery cut off would buy you much more time. I don’t believe you need to get the caterham one which is much more complicated (connecting to a variety of things in the car). https://a.co/d/3y6OsRG

Once again I can’t offer any first hand helpful insights. But these are photos of the rad mounts factory built (so I’m 60% sure it’s right).

Sorry I should have clarified. I didn’t have space to build my car. So this was purchased for routine maintenance.

https://a.co/d/6Lt1B91 j got this and it works well. Relatively light and fits under the car. BIG RED T42202 Torin Steel Jack... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0028JQYPG?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and two of these. Not bad. One Jack isn’t quite square when on the floor. But still works

Seeking advice from 7 owners in NY / NJ

Rachit, Any update on your caterham search ? I did get my car in June. Let me know where you stand. -
Sorry since I wimped out and had Greg have someone put my engine in I’m not much help. But this is my 420r. Seems like the black piece which I thought was just a guard might be a more integral piece.

The kebab skewers holding the sunshades complete the look.

New York needed photos of bumpers , padded dash and sun visors. Don’t get me started with the light sae numbers. You can pm me when you get to that stage for tips (if Ohio is anything like ny)

My car didn’t have any Iva trim on any of the body panel openings. I think I have them on indicator pods. Don’t recall the ny dmv caring about any of that but defer to anyone who might have had any issues with it.

I might forget mine on purpose. -
I had the same problem. Even when I entered the ppu for a 420 with 13” staggered zzs set up it was still wrong. I tried to do the math to adjust based on gps vs what it was reading. Ended up just adjust checking adjusting checking. And came up with this ppu that pretty spot on. If you have different tires and wheels it will be different. But once you get comfortable entering the ppu you can check with against gps (I just used Waze or Google maps that reads out your speed ). ** use caution when driving and looking at your phone. 042081 here is also an automatic way to calibrate the Caerbont speedo: Setting The Calibration – Inputting The Calibration Number / Pulses Per Unit Distance. There are two methods to setting the calibration: (i) Manually inputting the PPU number. (ii) Using ‘drive to set’ facility. The calibration mode is selected by switching on the ignition while simultaneously pressing the trip reset button. The pointer will travel to full scale and return to zero. If the button is released before the pointer returns to zero, the manual setting procedure will be selected and the LCD (odo.) will read ‘SET PPU’ If the button is released after the pointer returns to zero the ‘drive to set’ mode is selected and the LCD will show ‘DTS PPU.’ At this point, pressing the reset button momentarily will toggle between ‘SET PPU’ and DTS PPU’ . Manually inputting the PPU Number Set the LCD to display ‘SET PPU’ as described above. Press the reset button for 2-3 seconds, the LCD will show the calibration number currently set. Each digit within the calibration number will flash in turn for approximately 2 seconds. When a digit is flashing, each depression of the reset button will increment the digit by one. Once the last (right-most) digit has been set/reset, the whole number will flash. Press the reset button and the LCD will display ‘DONE.’ After 3 seconds the LCD will display ‘SET PPU,’ the setting is now complete. Switch off the ignition. Drive To Set PPU: Set the LCD to display ‘DTS PPU’ as described. Press the reset button for 2-3 seconds, the LCD will display ‘∗00000.’ Drive exactly one mile. While driving, the odometer will count the number of pulses generated by the sender. Press the reset button for 2-3 seconds, the LCD will display ‘DONE.’ Within a few seconds the LCD will return to the ‘DTS PPU’ display. The setting is now complete. Switch off the ignition. IMPORTANT – When driving in ‘drive to set’ mode the speedometer will register but not accurately. The speedometer cannot be used on a public highway in this mode.

I think that makes 10 for Saturday at least. I’m trying to move some things around and attend Friday as well. Will sign up when I know. -

Han’s tested with helmet. Think it should work. Hopefully I don’t fully test it. -
I ran it down to 1/4 tank indicated before I decided to stop. It took 6.5 gals (sv 10.8 tank). So that’s about spot on. I’m sure I will push it further and see where the truly empty (or available fuel empty) lands on the gauge.

Now you tell me. It’s so straightforward you could likely do it blind (just reaching under). But I was curious about everything and how it all works.
