  1. I have the leather seats in my 420. And just had a hole cut thru the squab. It has worked well. I thought I would only use on track but now I run crutch all the time. It keeps the buckle located and is perfectly comfortable.
  2. Looks like scary fun!!!! Get some mileage on it by coming to New Jersey this summer.
  3. Catrem, catterham, cataham. I would think AI could spell better.

  5. On newer cars scuttle removal is usually done by drilling out the rivets and taking off the scuttle (leaving the firewall ) as lots of electronics attached and heater. Some older cars folks remove the scuttle and fire wall together disconnecting what’s needed. https://www.caterhamlotus7.club/forums/topic/186815-scuttle-removal/ if you drill out all the rivets you can replace with rivnuts for future removal
  6. Trying to motivate to make the run on Saturday. Going to be brisk.
  7. If it runs thru the 23rd. Maybe there is a weekend between now and then that has some seven friendly weather. Keeping an eye out.
  8. Here was a thread from last year. I was looking to stop blow thru on my 420R which was shooting directly thru the plastic breather bottle and down the bottom and side of the car. As a stop gap fix I adjusted the tubes into the breather bottle and that stopped it (pretty much). Track days are really the only problem. I might upgrade to one of the iridium units for some bling under the hood. They are pricey and some alts are cheaper but do not have any first hand knowledge on them. I think some of them can be configured to have a return or just vented to the outside.
  9. To get the next generation started https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-lotus-seven-6/?utm_source=Iterable&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=campaign_2648450
  10. This is a repost from last years event. Some inspiration for any folks considering going this year. fond thoughts of warmer days.

  12. I got mine from time machines. They may have some left. greg@timemachinesauto.com
  13. It’s only be on for month so hard to tell the long term durability. But I have wiped them down with solvent and it doesn’t smudge. the smaller the wire the more it shrinks and the smaller the text gets. But still legible even on 18gauge tefzel which is prob equivalent to 20 or 22 gauge. if it was really exposed (under the car) I might throw some clear heat shrink over it. I tend to mark the awg on the label because the printed one on the wire is next to impossible to read.
  14. As installed
  15. Hijacking here. I got this label maker that prints on shrink tube cartridge. It’s over kill but works well https://a.co/d/c22XIey I also got clear shrink tube that you can use regular labels and just shrink it on https://a.co/d/1VQ5213 this was using the label maker printed on shrink tube.
  16. I ordered some mil spec wiring from motecs subdivision https://www.milspecwiring.com it’s pricey but seems indestructible. Should my car burn to the ground I have visions of the wiring being intact in the charred remains. The sheathing does take some sharp strippers and you have to err on the smaller size for shrink connectors so you get a good seal on the smaller sheathing.
  17. Agreed on a cobra needing a v8. Was more interested in a 300hp n/a ford 4 cylinder and if it would be able to fit in an sv 7 (But the eco boost exhaust is on the left side I believe ). Or maybe that could solve the supercharger steering conflict in the 620 with a left hand drive (eco boost vs Duratec)
  18. But can it be shoe horned into a seven. https://carbuzz.com/ac-cars-cobra-gt-four-cylinder-engine-option/
  19. @Number94 there is an HPc that is pending a sale (says they will know by Jan 6). In Illinois (maybe near you).
  20. 420 sv non lowered floors with leather seats in New York City. Doesn’t sound like your travels take you up north. I am smaller on all measurements (not by a ton) and am happy with my choice. Might have done lowered floors if I did it all again but not so much as to wanting to change it. There is a 620 about to be for sale here.
  21. I wonder the groups thoughts on this. Is there a world in the future that this could be adapted to the seven? I know there is divergent opinions on turbos (with lag and extra weight of cooling plumbing etc). Might the electric supercharger over come some of this. And maybe even address the packaging limitations of the RHD only 620 with the steering rack conflict. https://www.cycleworld.com/blogs/ask-kevin/honda-electric-supercharger-v3-concept-explained/ what do the masses say?
  22. My 2023 420r Duratec is specd with 5w50 motul 8100 (although I used Mobil one 5w50 for my first change ).

  24. I will check the usual track operators. Maybe we can book a Saturday at one and a Sunday and another and road trip around this summer
