WANTED: Fuel tank for Caterham S3 DeDion fuel injection.
Alex-Ks1 replied to pethier's topic in Parts For Sale / Wanted
Nope what , you don't know how to work with fiberglass. Down loaded a photo and copied it to make a mold Even made the front fenders It came from Tractor Supply. I bought one for 22$. Cut it half, shaped it and mounted it, I sure would like to see what you built from scratch one day . -

It is ,I took the manifold and milled out all of the runners ,opening it up. Them made the plate to mount the carb . There is a manifold on the market for about 375$ but you have to put this goofy riser on it for another 150$ to mount the carb ,and it just too damn high. I did all this for about 20$ I did have to put a hood scoop on it for clearance. I made it from fiberglass matting . I didn't want to spend the 300$ for one like it on line . -

I saw the link for a Gas tank, I made my own ,think I spent 35$ doing it, made it from 1/8 inch T-8 aluminum. Its 19 gals and the top plate for the sender , pick up is 4.5 inch in Dia. TIG welding is not as hard as one would think ,just takes practice. -

SPCNS (Caterham) registration in the SF Bay Area
Alex-Ks1 replied to Maggie S.'s topic in General Sevens Discussion
Not at all , if I buy parts , supplies I pay sales tax at the store I bought from . If I buy out of state I have to pay that states sales tax and not again in Kansas . Then it's all over .I can't help it if your state screws every one over everything for any reason . There are many Calif license plates where I live and all over Kansas. They had the good sense to escape. Sales tax is by county only, no state income tax , gas is under 2.80$ now .I pay 600$ a year for 2 cars on insurance a year . The Lotus is 350$ a year on a separate policy -

The state only wants to see the bill of sale for the engine ,with matching numbers on engine and paperwork. The state police that inspects the build for safety and all components with safety . Then he issues a VIN on the spot . I take all the paper work to the DMV .Bamm it's done fast and cheap .,a strange law in Kansas is that a windshield is not mandatory, but you must have a wiper .working or not ..how dumb is that . Again the only tax was for the engine I bought . The registration and tag was extra . -
Just finished my 420r build have ride height question
Alex-Ks1 replied to notoriousjje's topic in General Sevens Discussion
When I built mine, it finished out at 3 inches ground clearance under the bottom of the trans, it's the lowest area of the car . I built it the way I wanted it . If I feel there is a bump in the road, I drive over it slow, so far no knocks or bangs . -

The 7300$ was a tax .if you gave the DMV any money it was a tax .and for all that money you got a 3$ metal plate with numbers. Wow, what a deal -

Never use a freeze plug a second time . The brass plugs don't corrode like steel ,and the rubber expansion plugs will pop out

I don't have a trailer , but have security cameras all about my property and very bright lights turn on if any one enters my property .ALSO, if some one comes on my property with any kind of tool in their hand, I can legally shoot them , I'm in fear of my life .,its a " stand your ground " law . All thieves need to be killed off any way . I have a sign in my front yard ."OWNER IS ARMED "

I'm in Kansas, so after I built my 7 .DMV was no help at all they didn't have a clue to get this done .So an Internet search said I was to contact the captain of state police central area Kansas. I did, and I had every bill of sale. Every scrap of paper in a large 3 inch thick folder . The Captain came to my shop, surprised me, I had to make. An appointment, and thought Ok 6 months later, but he showed up 3 days later . He walked around the car . Then said do you have a windshield wiper, ,, this is. Very odd, state law, you must have a wiper, but you don't need a windshield I had a recipe for a manual wiper blade, that was good enough...thats the truth .. any way all he wanted to see was the bill of sale for the engine and if the paper work matches the numbers on the bill of sale . It did, and that was all, serious , he them asked if all the lights worked .He made a Kansas VIN right there and pop riveted to my inside fire wall .done ,I was shocked. Now getting a Kansas title .. I was ready to spend 6 months with this , all they wanted to see was the state police paper work ,,,DONE and 45$ later I had a legal VIN and a set of plates and a clean title .. -

The USA is the land of opportunities, the crooks will use any opportunity to steal from om you , it's a shame you just can't shoot them .a few people have done a great job in getting back , 1 . A man filled a box with pig shit and mailed it to his house, he was robbed a few times , so he left the package on the front porch and sure enough 2 shit heads ran on his porch and stole the package . Lolololol. 2. Another guy bought a big screen TV . He had to get rid of the old broken one, he put it in the box. Wrapped it up and put it on his porch , Sure enough that night some ass holes took it away ,loading into a small car on the roof . You can't make this stuff up . There are more horses asses. Then horses

You have a lot of thieves working for these companies ,who ever they are . I had a UPS delivery ,I watched with my camera on the porch ,She put it by the front door then took a photo showing that, then took it an ran to the truck .. I ran faster . Detained her and called called the police . They took her and a few hours later another driver showed and took the truck

The tacked-up chassis moved off the build table to a home made rotisserie made from scrap metal on hand.
