  1. Apologies no post today as I am distracted with a few sevens.
  2. We did awards tonight since not all of us are staying for dinner on Sunday night. And the worthy winners were: 1) Mechanical Sympathy Award - to Jay for enduring a leaky caliper, have the rear caliper replaced with a Ford Mustang caliper, and still not making one run on track today. Our sympathy is with you. 2) Poo Came Out Award. To Kitcat for being the first Caterham to ever wear a diaper. 3) The Polisher Award. A matching set in red polyester of steering wheel cover, handbrake handle warmer and knob warmer. Seb was a worthy winner given his color coordination of red shoes, boots, underwear, gloves, car, handbag, luggage, etc. 4) the Best Directions in a moving vehicle. A reward for good driving. Blake was a worthy winner.
  3. Dinner is going well. Plenty of wine bottles on the table.
  4. Dinner from Friday night And I have a new neighbor at my garage.
  5. Jay has a brake caliper issue with leaking. He now has a mustang brake caliper installed.
  6. Some photos. Some of the action at karting Then some pit action
  7. Saturday schedule is: 7.15-30 breakfast at the clubhouse. 7.30 tech opens 8.30 drivers meeting 10.15 first session for sevens (third session of the day) I suggest you get here and we persuade TJ and Ian to fixing your belts (they are modest in their fee) and then they tech your car. Should be able to make a 10.15 session.
  8. Did you ever give me your email? TJ and Ian will be tech'ing at my garage this afternoon. They have spares.
  9. You can come straight to my garage at the track and we do it inside in air conditioned comfort - Tom C, Steve and by then Tom G will be here to assist you knock it out quickly. Doing it outside in the blazing sun by yourself is not going to be any fun. Yellowss7 made the same goof on the banana car so he will be wearing the same expression of frustration as you! The instructions did have contact numbers once you reach the track but if you lost them, just come to the gate and ask for the "Exotic Car Garages" then look for the last building (4th in line).
  10. You need a second person to install rapidly. Seat has to come out. Best get here to TJs garage near NJMP and we try to help you If it’s any consolation your post just surfaced another two people who made the same error. So your public service announcement was helpful to wake people up on the problem.
  11. Ok now I understand what you have done. There are two types of Caterham belts on the website. There is the FIA spec (which I have) and the regular road type (which is what I think you bought). So it probably has no expiry date and is not acceptable as you surmised. Say hello to the folks at Stable Energies for me since they are your best choice for acceptable belts. Try to get here ASAP and we can get TJ or someone to get your drivers side changed over on Friday.
  12. I use the Caterham belts and have no issues. But my belts are in date. So hopefully the new ones you bought are or your old belts are. Look for the white label. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Time out. The Caterham belts do have an expiry date. They don’t need FIA accrediting to be acceptable. Do you have the 5 or 6 pt Caterham belts? If so what expiry do they have on them? NJMP wants belts that are in date. So do yours have a date specified? Stable energies is good. I buy stuff there. But I am not convinced you need to buy more belts yet.
  14. Glad you solved it because I am still confused? At this point I am having a beer and checking out. Tom C arrived today and we plugged his camper into the garage mahal. He was working with Steve helping to fettle his new beasty after it ate some rear wings. Jeff's new engine arrived at TJs along with two of my V8s rebuilds and was ready for installation - his Zetec - not my V8s. Unfortunately, Jeff is apparently not attending but rather is chasing something in Colorado. Hope she is cute? If I dont see you first, karting is at 3pm - bring your helmet and if you have it - race suit and neck collar. Meet at the karting site at Lightning. Safe travels!
  15. Vovchandr - Checking Kayak shows the Ramada by Wyndham in Vineland (2 rooms left) and the Quality Inn in Vineland with availability. I used Kayak.com to search and reconfirmed by hitting their website directly.
  16. Interesting? 1) Show 16 year old photos and say it still looks the same - trust me 2) Rubbish a $22k Westfield and say it is inferior to his $30K Westfield for which we have no reference point to judge value. That car could be gold plated and I would still keep away from a seller with his head so far up his ass he is heavy breathing his tonsils. Either he gets religion or the car will still be for sale 2 years from now.
  17. Congratulations! Well done! Patience well kept in the face of bureaucrats with the intellectual capacity of amoebic dysentery. ironically the license plate frame would earn you a fine in NJ as the Welsh flag would obscure the “NEW JERSEY” on the base of the state license plate here.
  18. Oh he's back! Posting at 1am too! I'll give you a call at 5am once I get to the office to talk updating restaurant numbers. Hopefully, I won't wake you up?
  19. Nah! None of my forecasts show that. Anyway the track is in a rain shadow so the storms usually bypass it around the edges - strange to observe but good to see
  20. Technically they need to sign up but you only need the visitor wrist band for meals and track ride alongs. A quick pop in to say hello to a wayward driver seems to be ok for a visitor as you described
  21. Given Simon and I played tag recently and there was never going to be a conclusive winner without a monumental accident, I don't know how he can talk about less time consuming. Given his favorite track chew toy, Sebastien will be available to play, he'll probably decide to Brexit at turn 4 on Thunderbolt on day 1. Re belts, you may have to point that out to the inspectors that you will not have a passenger or instructor in the car which is why belts dont comply. Bring the spare set anyway in case they go all muppety on us - its been known. And lastly, Simon is not the only one with an accent. I do the voiceovers for a little reptile on car insurance commercials.
  22. Fascinating video. Great location for an autocross - nice big course. Your hands on the steering wheel got confused a few times and you really needed to change down a gear a few points to keep the engine in its power band. Understeer seemed mostly under control but it was there at times.
  23. I would drive down with windscreen on and then change to aeroscreen here. Thats how I used to do it coming down from NYC.
