I am futuristic, prestigious and elegant! :cooldude: And I guess Twobone no longer is my friend?

I wondered what that noise was when I followed Blubarisax on track yesterday. I just assumed it was Karl freaking out for going faster than the haridresser driving the BMW 1 series convertible he just passed. Then again it could be the sound of money being sucked out of his wallet as he blows yet another clutch and he has to remove engine/gearbox. :jester:

Great photos. What wheel/tire combo are you running on the Stalker? Really suits the car well and gives it a good stance.

Ummm....it was 4 in session 2 and once in session 4. The last one was when the local yokel police man pretending he was in an SCCA race ran me off the end of the straight at 100mph. He forgot I was there even though he was being pointed past by me. :svengo:

Tom has arranged it so we are all in one group. Yellow would be an appropriate color for us given how much of it was waved on the weekend...

Sadev sequential bolts straight on to a duratec in place of T9 and Cat6. Happily handles in excess of 300hp.

umm....it was four..... If it makes it any better (not really but I will try), once was when a Mazda RX7 looped turn 7 causing everyone behind to dive in all directions.

Tom, Karl and myself got a little extra practice at Lightning today. Great weather, nice breeze, plenty of sun. Needless to say 2 of us needed the practice :iamwithstupid:, the other was slow enough that he did not get into trouble. :blueangel: For those arriving Friday night, there is a tech session between 6 and 7pm which would be a good opportunity to get this behind you and make the next morning less of a rush.

I use a Cosworth oil cooler that really operates more like a laminova. Link here: http://duratec.wikispaces.com/modification-CosworthOilCooler It does have a positive effect to lower oil temp but still I note that oil temps are still far higher than my water temp - I max out on a 30 minute track session on my dash gauge. My next step is to look at a Mocal oil cooler mounted low in front of the radiator. I have one on the Mustang and it keeps the oil temps in a nice range.

Finally on the road, but never finished

You are perfectly normal - men never stop to ask for directions resulting in fantastic meandering driving opportunities. :jester: -
EEEEK!!!!! IT'S THE PIMP!!!! Run for your lives! :willy_nilly:

A very suitable name! Congratulations on making it this far! Sounds like it was a bit of an ordeal to pull it all together. The green on black suits the car really well. I am sort of surprised that it only made 250hp with that set up but I guess it is the 6500rpm limit that is causing that as 2L Duratecs should rev higher. I will be very interested to see what happens when you increase the injector size. Where/how is the supercharger mounted on the engine in this Birkin installation - top right of your engine pic? Also which supercharger - rotrex? I am sorry for all the questions - I am curious how this all gets packaged in a small Birkin chassis. -
NJ mandate by law all sevens (unless they are original 1950/60/70 Lotus) are kit cars and treat them as salvage needing special inspection. PA is similar. So my 2004 Caterham SV was on a NJ salvage title. Some people manage to sneak through in NJ on a regular title but that is an oversight and not the legally correct answer. It should not hurt the value of the car - at least it did not for me. A seven is pretty transparent for its accident history anyway - you can see very easily if a chassis repair was made. Quite a few other states are similar to NJ. However, missing a year is a little strange to me. I would go back to PA DMV and see what you can do to fix it. ETA - Kaching! Bill was quick off the mark and beat me!

New shoes???? Anyone can drive quick on fresh slicks every 200 miles. The challenge is tracking on street tires for 1500 miles and still being faster

Well done - you learn quickly! Let me add to your list: - Sevens have no grip in snow or very wet weather and turn from the best handling cars in to some of the most challenging to keep on the tarmac. - Never tell the owner of a V8 (Mustang, Corvette, etc) that you can whip their fanny in the corners and braking areas (and fuel economy). They will want to challenge you - to a drag race. - A NYC taxi does not check mirrors or look over shoulders when changing lanes - they just go. - A seven can drive underneath a (stationary) tractor trailer for a dare (done at Harrisburg on the way to LOG 30). - Small road bumps look REALLY BIG when you are 2 inches from the road surface. - Do not tell bystanders in jest that one advantage of sitting low in a seven is to look up the skirts of pretty ladies. The subsequent conversation with a police officer is challenging. - A short 5 minute drive to Home Despot for supplies can frequently turn into 300 mile backroad tours. - A seven has been an excellent tool to opening up opportunities to pick up chicks. The only problem is this tool behind the wheel crashes and burns in the subsequent conversation. - If you want to feel like a rockstar then drive a seven into the middle of Times Square on Sunday afternoon. You will cause a traffic jam. You will also be abused by New York's finest police. - Make sure you look good when you drive your seven - you will have lots of photos taken of you by other drivers. - Eventually (about 18 months for me) you will learn that bikers are giving the secret Masonic signal of fraternity and are not giving you the bird. - If you cannot reach the security gate sensor for getting out of your company parking lot when you take your seven to work, you can just drive underneath the barrier arm at least once. However, the following week you should also consider that the security guards might just adjust the barrier to be lower to stop such an escape in the future (I have the broken barrier in my office as a momento). - I have also met some really great other seven owners who are good friends!

Look who is here - Burnout Boi! How long will this clutch last before it burns up?

Sigh.....I wish I wish but the people running construction are determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Maybe in 2016 at the current rate...

Well done Martin! A worthy purchase that definitely improves the sanity of the owner! Happy driving! :seeya::auto:

Camera sorted for you. I will set it up on Saturday morning on your car. When you arrive you may want to drop your trailer on Friday at Lightning ready for the Saturday. If you do then look out at the garages that you pass on the access road inside NJMP - I may be there in my garage faffing around on my car.

Does anyone who does not have a video camera of their own want to borrow one for this event to mount on their seven? Mount, card, external mic and camera can be provided. Only downside is that I get a copy of the footage to use in the sevens video I produce afterwarrds. :flag:

Yes Michael - I will be in on Friday early to wash my car and prep it.

I can take measurements of mine this week but I am confused (easily done I know:dupe:).... Won't the overall width be dictated by the width of an S1 and the attachment points on the side of the scuttle? So I would have thought you would be needing more the angle of elevation and depth from scuttle to top?
-
I always thought it was the B2 that was specified as standard for the CSR?

But Roman, we cannot push off a few weeks since Bruce has a "use by" date on him before he has to return home to Bonaire. So it would have to be the next week as that is his last weekend in civilization before he returns to his job of being shark bait. The weather forecast for this Saturday just sucks right now.

Looking for thoughts on caterham integrated dash
Croc replied to TurboWood's topic in General Sevens Discussion
My car is set up on the higher of the road suspension settings to give more clearance given the atrocious quality of the roads in NJ. It must have worked as I have never bottomed out on the sump or floor. However, when I had Jeffs in the car for a test drive I managed to bottom out the fins on the diffuser. That was a particularly nasty "yump" that I should have slowed down further for given I had two people in the car.
