I have had the honor of driving John's car at Ambush.. We switched cars for a few min. to test handling differences between a standard super stalker and John's much modified V8 version. I was dying to experience the difference 500+HP would make...... For John, i'm sure it was no big deal, but for me WOW. When you hit the starter and the Hushpowers begin to rumble you know you're in a very powerful car...makes you a little nervous at first. Tapped the throttle a couple of times to see how quick the linkage was....normal. Put it in 1st and idled out on to the street. The first thing i noticed is that the car feels and sounds more solid or substantial than ours. I think this is due to the changes John has made in the shocks/spring rates. He said he has spent a lot of time dialing in his custom suspension for road racing. Expecting this thing to start doing loops..... I took it easy thru 1st and 2nd....Tested the steering and it was quick and tight. Shifted smoothly into 3rd...cruised up to 60 , checked the mirror and did a quick brake test back to naught.... jeez that was definitely satisfactory.... obviously not stock brakes like ours. Ok sitting in the middle of the road time to see how this monster runs. I Didn't start out in second so first lasted about 1 second. In second and third with r888s you are not required to apply full throttle to get the rear tires to break loose. Speed shifting into 4th also would not b wise but by the end of 4th your foot can be flat on the floor with no tire spin. The TkO 600 shifts so smoothly you don't remember shifting. The power is amazingly controllable and smooth. you just input enough peddle to keep it on the edge of traction. The car stays solidly on line.. " Torsen diff" The acceleration is addictive. Its like a drag car that can also corner. On the way back we went over a bridge with a sharp grade change that hurt when i went over it in our car. I braced myself but John’s went over it like it wasn’t there. This is a great car. The test is over………..I WANT ONE Gale

That's a class Act! Gale

We put Hushpowers on Joe's car #119. Wow what a change. They produce a deep mellow tone that most every one enjoys. But i am not saying they are quiet at full throttle. Gale

I have used both also. Second Skin Damplifier Pro. seems to b as good as Dynamat and usually costs less and i prefer it. You dont have to cover the whole panel to kill the sound transfer. Once you get it rolled on don't plan on taking it off easily. It is an Al. foil backed butyl based rubber adhesive that cuts noise transfer and vibration. It works.

Yes, we are in.....Just got everything back from powdercoat and we are in the middle of final assembly. Less than one month left to completion.

----- Forwarded Message ----- From: Pwhittle pwhittle@aol.com Sent: Sunday, September 11, 2011 8:04 PM Subject: [stalkerv6] 2011 Ambush Dates - September 18-22 - Update 7 Update 7 Details: Only 1 more week!! I am getting excited! The weather this weekend was just fabulous! Hopefully it is the same next week! Bring a jacket or sweater to wear. I expect we will need them in the mornings and perhaps evenings as well! There was one more move from Riverbend to one of the cabins at Creekwood. The regular rate is only $100 per night for the three bedroom cabins which is a great, great deal. There is also the one-bedroom economy cabin which is $80 per night. Give Melissa a call to see which ones are still available. This means that the main meeting place will be Creekwood rather than Riverbend. The schedule below has been updated to reflect this. Please remember that we need everyone to start each day with full gas tanks and empty bladders. The closest gas to Creekwood is 6 miles back to Helen. Monday night, we will go to The Attic in Clarkesville. More fine food! The fried or grilled shrimp is amazing and baked potatoes are a house specialty! http://theatticrestaurant.com/ The destination for Thursday will be determined by popular vote of the group during the week. I have officially sold the Airstream, and working a deal on a new (to me) motorhome. If all goes according to plan, and what ever does , Barb and I will fly to Buffalo NY on Thursday night, get orientation on the new motorhome on Friday morning, then drive it the 900 miles for Atlanta to get my Stalker before heading up to Helen. If things don't go according to plan, I will be calling Melissa for a cabin, or asking who wants a room mate in their cabin. I don't eat much. Well, yes I do! But I don't snore! Cherik, I apologise for misspelling your name on the last update. I have corrected it on this one. Let me know if I do not have you on the list, and if you are not on the Stalker mailing list send me an email so I can send you direct updates.

Right..... and so the rest of us will try to keep up!!! This is going to b a great time.... Hooa Ha!!!!
-
Missouri requires a front plate also..every time i get asked about it...... usually while getting stopped for speeding, i tell him i could not figure a way to mount it that would not mess up the car. No tickets so far. Just lucky?

Sorry i forgot to pay the bill. :-)

Loren I am blown away by your black beauty. Great looking car!

Here is the latest update from Paul on Ambush. Let me know if I do not have you on the list, and if you are not on the mailing list send me an email so I can send you direct updates. The 2011 Ambush will be September 18th-22nd. This is 2 weeks after Labor day. Glad to see some take up from some non-Stalkers! All are welcome! History The Brunton Stalker owners have been getting together on an annual basis for what will be 5 years in 2011 with the last 3 years and this one based in Helen, GA. This is a low-key affair with minimal organized activities except for daily drives on fantastic roads and an informal get together for dinner each night. The drives will typically stop for lunch somewhere interesting. The Riverbend typically puts on breakfast of muffins, etc and a conference room for us to congregate in the mornings. Events Daily drives and informal dinners Schedule Sunday - Some short drives around the Helen area to accomodate the people arriving that day. Meeting point will be the Riverbend in the parking lot. Monday - A long day with some fantastic roads! Meet at RiverBend at 8:30AM full of fuel for a 9:00AM sharp departure. We will drive from Helen to Maggie Valley, NC for lunch. Following lunch, we will tour the Wheels Through Time Museum (http://www.wheelsthroughtime.com) with a group discount price of $10 per head. Then we will head back to Helen. I expect we will drive just over 350 miles that day and we will take in some of the best roads around to include War Woman Road from Clayton, GA towards Highlands, NC. Tuesday - Trips a little closer to Helen, with just as wonderful roads! Take the long way to Dawsonville, GA, the home of Million Dollar Bill Ellliott of Nascar fame! Lunch at the DawsonVille Pool Room (http://www.motorsportamerica.com/adv/dawsonville-poolroom/index.html). Jeremy Porter (CEO) and Becky Powell (Operations) from Atlanta Motorsports Park will be joining us for lunch. Tour of Atlanta Motorsports Park (http://atlantamotorsportspark.net/) AMP is nearing the end of construction and is welcoming us to have a tour of the facility and hear the vision behind the project. (Alternate or also, the the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame (http://www.thunderroadusa.com/Museum.html) is a mile from the Pool Room) Return to Helen, the long way. Wednesday Meet at Creekwood Resort at 8:45AM with full tanks for a 9:15AM prompt departure Drive to Caffe Rel in Franklin, NC for an 11:00 AM lunch appointment. This lets us miss the lunch crowd and get back to driving the roads. Caffe Rel is known as one of the best restaurants in the area whose owner, Richard, is a Porsche owner and auto enthusiast. Thursday - TBA Fees None. Accomodation Once again we will be at the Riverbend Motel and the Creekwood Resort Campgrounds and Cabins. The Riverbend has a lot of space for trailer parking and a decent amount of covered parking for the cars. It is a short walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Helen. Mark from Riverbend has dropped the price again this year to $72.21 per night for our group, effective from Sunday 18th - Thurday 22nd. If you want rooms over Friday, Saturday before and after, standard rates will apply. As of 6/10/2011, they are running $89.99 per night which is much better than the $203/night it was in early June. For RV's Melissa and Robert at Creekwood Resort are looking forward to us being back this year. They also have some great cabins available if you are more than a party of 2, or can arrange to be. Riverbend Motel & Cabins 134 River St Helen, GA 30545 Ph: 706-878-2155 http://www.riverbendmotelandcabins.com/ Creekwood Resort 5730 Highway 356 Sautee, GA 30571 Ph: 706-878-2164 http://www.creekwoodresort.com/ Confirmed: Paul Whittle & Barbara Fitzgerald (GA) (Creekwood) (I expect it will be hard to keep Jeremy away now that he has a twin-turbo Supra engine in his BMW '86 528e) Carl & Jan Annee (GA) John & Denise Meyers (IL) (Creekwood) Gale & Lana Newlin (MO) (Creekwood) Jim & Debbie Holley (NC) (Creekwood) Bill & Tina Bradley (AZ) (Riverbend) Phil & Patty Anderson (TX) (Riverbend) (Caterham) Bob and Jeanne Berube (??) SPRING RATE? They are great on a Stalker!
-
I have a condo in the Caymans. Does that count?
-
Yes, it is now open to all 7s. After seeing how much fun the SouthWest sevens Fest is each spring, which is a great mix of all types of 7 s, we began discussing with the Paul and other Stalker guys to see how this might workout. The response was (WOW great idea). Sharing these incredible blats with other 7s owners who like to drive (tail of the dragon) type roads is our goal. These roads are the best I have ever driven. It's almost like these roads were designed by race drivers or maybe bootleggers. See you there. Gale

AMBUSH IN THE SMOKEY MOUNTAINS ALL 7s ARE INVITED!!!! Updated Details: A regular stop for us is at the Dawsonville Pool Room (http://www.motorsportamerica.com/adv/dawsonville-poolroom/index.html) for lunch one day. Also in Dawsonville is the new Atlanta Motorsports Park (http://atlantamotorsportspark.net/). AMP is nearing the end of construction and is welcoming us to have a tour of the facility and hear the vision behind the project. For those that want to take a detour, there is also the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame (http://www.thunderroadusa.com/Museum.html) a mile from the Pool Room ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ambush will be held from September 18 thru the 22nd 2011 and centered around Helen, Ga. Glad to see some interest from some non-Stalkers! All 7s enthusiasts are welcome!!! HISTORY Paul Whittle has organized an event for Stalker owners for the past several years called the Ambush. Ambush is a Brunton Stalker owners group get together held on an annual basis for the last 5 years in Helen, GA. The Smoky Mountains of Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina have some of the best driver's roads in the world. The Ambush is several loosely organized drives thru the best hilly, curvy and picturesque roads I know of. In the evenings we tend to gather at a local restaurant or have a cookout at the friendly campground many of us stay at. We will probably split into a couple of groups for the drives. There will be a group that drives very "briskly" and other group(s) that are more leisurely. We also tend to gather at an interesting place each day for lunch. We usually avoid the Tail of the Dragon because it tends to have lots of traffic. Paul is a local and knows roads that are less traveled and even better than the Dragon! There is no organized track day or entry fee. Just pay your own expenses. Accommodations: Once again we will be at the Riverbend Motel and the Creekwood Resort Campgrounds and Cabins. The Riverbend has a lot of space for trailer parking and a decent amount of covered parking for the cars. It is a short walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Helen and is on the river bank. Riverbend typically puts on breakfast of muffins, etc and a conference room for us to congregate in the mornings. Mark from Riverbend has dropped the price again this year to $72.21 per night for our group, effective from Sunday 18th - Thursday 22nd. If you want rooms over Friday, Saturday before and after, standard rates will apply. As of 6/10/2011, they are running $89.99 per night which is much better than the $203/night it was in early June. Creekwood Resort 5730 Highway 356 Sautee, GA 30571 Ph: 706-878-2164 http://www.creekwoodresort.com/ Creekwood has a few very nice cabins also One more accomodation option is to rent local Locost hotshoe Heikki Rinta-Koski's cabin in Helen. Heikki took 3rd overall at the Tail of the Dragon Hill climb in June in his home built Locost. Here is a 2007 video of him at RockingHam. If I can't talk him into getting his Locost street registered, I hope he will bring his 6.2L V8 Boss Hoss. He is fun to follow through the twisites. He rides it like he drives his Locost! It is truly a sight to see! Details of Heikki's cabin can be found below: http://www.vrbo.com/318055 Heikki Rinta-Koski 678 640 7212 If you would prefer to stay elsewhere that is perfectly OK also.

If you are going to buy a Stalker, John's car is currently proven the fastest Stalker on the Planet. Why not start at the top. Gale

Try this one if it is not sold. Sorry that's not an LS. http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12346&sid=33272f5bfbca6ef3207c8fd94e8dd061

Stalker guys - question about pedals
HOTTTCAR replied to soareyes's topic in General Sevens Discussion
I installed a one inch master so now I can use the clutch as a dead peddle. Works great...but I saw one that had peddles mounted on the top... Took a bit of welding but easily doable. -
I agree with Jack. Love our Garmin Nuvi. Get a good one loaded. You will b surprised what you use. Life time traffic actually takes you around a traffic jam before you know its ahead of you. An 8 gig chip stores all our music, books, pictures which it plays alone, in your head phones or picks a channel on your radio. The speed limit thing is very useful also. Gale

My trailer is also heavily biased to the front . I weighed the tongue with the trailer dead level and empty when it was new. The tongue weighed 650 lbs. so in order to determine where to put the car we loaded the car and watched the scale to see where to park the car inside the trailer. We set the tongue weight to 750 lb. then took it I out for a test drive . Even trying to induce the pendulum effect, there was no inclination to push the truck around. The trailer is a 26 ft. long vee so you can load two 7s end to end but it is so front biased that there is over a ½ ton on the tongue when you do.
