  1. Are those just side steps or have you upgraded to rock sliders? If you plan on night driving Oracle offers LED off road lights. Might want to consider getting a 12v air compressor so you can re inflate your tires after airing them down for more traction. Also in case you get stuck in the sand, sand track/ladders are helpful. For extra liquid storage the daystar can cam is handy.
  2. It probably has the same 2.8 t9 gearbox my SV came with. 3.36 1st gear.
  3. Does the rear get any lower at speed w/ the downforce? What's the ground clearance for the diffuser? Mince up some squirrels.
  4. I put the foam under the cloth.
  5. I have the stock caterham cloth seat and just used some 3m adhesive with Confor foam. I used 1" blue foam in the seat back and it cut down a lot of the road vibrations. Good enough that I have done two 1500 mile round trips in the 7.
  6. Might be a good idea to check the condition of those hoses. Check for hard spots that may indicate a deposit build up in the hose and for cracking.
  7. Small hose clamps would be better than those zip ties, unless that tee fitting is cracked.
  8. http://www.burtonpower.com/ usually has a seal/gasket kit in stock and ships quick.
  9. Got an update on that rear camber setup. They have another website that they are still updating, but it has some info. http://www.raceproducts.net Oh also received the parts I ordered yesterday. It took 4 days (2 day air) from Australia to Alaska, which is faster or as fast as 2 day air shipping from the lower 48.
  10. I forgot about Taylor Race Engineering, thanks for the heads up.
  11. Not sure about the rear camber setup. It was just mentioned in one of my emails but I haven't received the details yet. I tried a couple Merkur sites but they didn't have the parts or didn't respond to my emails. Fyi I just had parts shipped from Cali 2 day and it was $10 more than from Australia and they weigh about the same .5 lb. I tend to receive parts faster from the UK than I do from the lower 48. The part I ordered from Eurospeed were the 5th gear retaining nut and the spacer/washers that hold the needle bearing in place on the layshalf.
  12. Just had the pleasure of doing business with eurospeed.com.au. I had trouble sourcing some T9 parts out of the UK mainly due to lack of email response, out of stock or that they don't ship to the US. They have very quick response by email I got a reply from them within 30 mins and within 2 business days received my shipping invoice. I would have been faster but I caught them close to closing hrs on a friday. Shipping by DHL was slightly more than stuff from the UK (less than $5 difference). Up in Alaska, unfortunately, I'm used to paying $40 or so for shipping. They are: Australian Quaife Distributor T9 5 speed Ford Sierra specialist Sierra Diffs for Clubmans Hewland and Holinger specialists They also mentioned that they supply "cambered rear floating hub setups to suit, we have found that people can gain up to 2 seconds a lap from a Seven with a cambered rear end." In their pdf catalog they sent me also had various duratec parts: water rail, various ways to mount the alternator, throttle bodies, etc. I'm not getting anything for advertising them, just happy with the customer service and letting others in the 7 community know about them. You can contact them at sales@eurospeed.com.au
  13. USPS priority boxes are probably the cheapest shipping.
  14. Looks like Redline MTL and/or MT90 is recommended for the T-9 trans. I had some Royal Purple gear oil, but had some 2nd gear grinding. I have 2 bottles of MT90, but first need to get my transmission put back together.
  15. ATF is much thinner than gear oil, so I wouldn't experiment w it in a manual trans. Have you tried contacting Quaife to see what they recommend? Also blatchat is a good source of info.
  16. Well the local shop was a bust. Didn't like when the guy said, "Well I just started here and I'm not sure how to put it on the machine." Sent it up to Anchorage, AK and had my cousin check a few shops. That didn't work out either. Found this on the Burton website that looks like a combination of stub shaft and lay shaft spindle. Similar to what bsimon mentioned. If that fits I still need the needle spacer rings that go on either side of the needle bearings. I don't suppose anyone has any extras? I'm still waiting for an email reply from bearingkits.co.uk since they don't have list any shipping options outside of the UK and Europe.
  17. My caterham has a rover gas cap if that helps.
  18. Angle looks about right if someone around 6' took the picture. A 7 is about, what, 42-44" high.
  19. Also watch where you park. A truck bumped in my 7 and crack the rear left fender on the 2nd day after I got it home.
  20. Ditto on the baking soda and water. Also the battery cleaner stuff you can get at any store w/ auto stuff works too.
  21. Quick google search gave me a listing of cars that use that tensioner. Looked it up on rockauto.com for a 2000 ford focus tensioner and they sell several that fit ranging from $22.79-84.79.
  22. Here's a post from the California caterham club. When I replaced mine I think I just took the old one and matched/cross referenced the part #. I think I ended up buying a wix fuel filter. Might be the same listed in that post, WIX 33481. Crawled under the 7 and couldn't see the part # and misplaced the packaging.
  23. How about using the L92 out of trucks/suvs?
  24. Tire Rack has the tire "tread width" and "section width" listed under "specs". Some tires are actually wider or narrower than their advertised sizes. Make sure you have enough clearance w the fenders and fender supports.
  25. Another option is to use those windshield tear-offs that race cars usually use.
