  1. Looks awesome! I know a guy that makes vinyl badges etc for sale - would people be interested in having someone make a batch for us.
  2. You guys shouls check out the Billet Cobra that that Kirkham made for Larry Ellison: http://www.kirkhammotorsports.com/book_aoe/
  3. Kyle has a 907 engine: http://gglotus.org/blog/?p=1570
  4. Its a pretty unique experience that people either love or hate - I would suggest you try and get a ride in Mondos car if possible. If you come up to NorCal you are welcome to have a look at my car as well. As for the power while 1400 lbs and 240 bhp is a lot, you do actually get used to it and I keep wondering if I should put down for a supercharger Hip and shoulder room will be just fine. I'm 6'1" / 195 lbs and I found the original seat to be way too big for me. The real problem for me is foot room. I have size 14 feet and I have to wear driving shoes - there is absolutely no way that my sneakers will fit. That said there is a lot more room in an Ultralite than any Caterham that I have seen. Edit: Also the passenger seat is significantly narrower than the driver seat so you may want to look into that as well.
  5. I have made a long list of modifications to the Seven since my last blog update which I still need to document on here. In the meantime I wanted to share this video from the GGLC autocross on Saturday (watch in HD fullscreen). The Seven may be unreliable, impractical and difficult to live with but the few days like this when everything works are absolutely worth the hassle. Incidentally we found the reason for the surging idle it ended up that I couldn’t drive the car for the rest of the day http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif Originally from: [/url]http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/2010/10/19/setting-up-a-seven-when-things-just-work/
  6. I like it - maybe have it as schwag for paid USA7s members?
  7. I believe there are only 4 complete cars in California. Mondo in SoCal with Jim Rankin, myself and another owner in NorCal. There are also 2 incomplete builds in Norcal. I've been documenting my ownership experience on my blog at http://www.rahulnair.net/blog/tag/setting-up-a-seven/
  8. I dont think you can paint an entire class of people with the same brush - while it is true that some Seven owners can be snobbish, it certainly isnt universal. I am active with the Golden Gate Lotus Club and several of our members have currently or in the past owned real Sevens. All of them love my Ultralite and it is always referred to as a Seven and never as a replica.

    Famous Food

Do you get a popup saying that location is unavailable or does it not accept the location you type in? The auto-location feature is not available on Safari or IE and does occasionally have issues in FireFox as well. I should have mentioned that this one is US only. :-) Thanks for letting me know - I'll add a note explaining it to the front page Its measuring distance as the crow flies so things like lakes and borders will change the actual values. Damn geography Unfortunately since I only show the restaurants that have been on the shows I am limited as to the options. The DB currently has 1044 restaurants all over the country with NYC and SF being the two densest populations.

    Famous Food

I've just finished a new website called FamousFood.us and figured folks over here might be interested. Its designed to help you find the nearest restaurants that have been featured on TV and Restaurant guides. It currently includes the following sources Best Thing I Ever Ate Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Man V Food Throwdown with Bobby Flay The Michelin Guide Head over to http://www.famousfood.us/ to try it out. It has been designed for use in both PC and Mobile Phones (IPhone, Android). All comments and suggestions are welcome.
  14. It does have a Lotus Log on the front and looks very similar to the F2 spec car on this page:
  15. The 4 cylinder means it was likely a 69 though I have not seen that single support wing before More info on the 69 is at http://www.britishspeed.com/forum/showthread.php?259-Lotus-by-the-Numbers&p=33381&viewfull=1#post33381
  16. Lucky you - I'm jealous. Are you sure thats a 49? The radiator and air intake are more reminiscent of the 69 F3 cars.
  17. Jalopnik just posted about this: http://jalopnik.com/5639043/spartan-v-a-ducati+powered-featherweight-track-menace
  18. We need lots of pictures of the finished result
  19. I believe that the dimples only work for blunt objects like spheres and not for things like airfoil wings: http://www.aerospaceweb.org/question/aerodynamics/q0215.shtml I wonder if Sevens are unaerodynamic enough to benefit Popular mechanics tested a commercial dimpled wrap and found their mileage decreased :http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/news/4316702
  20. You guys are nuts!!! Cant wait to see the results :driving:
  21. I've seen this car at a couple of events in the Bay Area. Eric (the Engineering lead) runs an independant Lotus shop in Mountain View.
  22. There were a couple of the Morgan 3 wheelers at the Monterey Historics last month http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4080/4949031999_1faaa0f46a.jpg Morgan Super Sport 3 wheeler by rnair, on Flickr
  23. Do you have a link? I know someone who is looking for a Caterham
  24. You should try out the NT01 - great R-compound tire at an affordable price
