Nor sure it is relevant..but here is my experience with Haltech..I had a generation 1 haltech on my mgb gt that had a 3.4L 60 degree gm v6 in it...car would run great until I ran it for protracted periods on hot summer days...for this reason I always carried my laptop with me to reset the program...I would pull off the road when it began running very rough...hook up the laptop and reset the the program..heat soak was the culprit...best I can offer...sorry full disclosure..this was @ 18 years ago...

Not sure about other states, but in Ohio the number one criteria when purchasing a vehicle is that the VIN# on the chassis matches the VIN# on the title...

I have driven one and it was surprisingly tame....but could never get past the juvenile johnny rocket styling...as I recall they are treated differently by state as either a motorcycle or other...

A few years ago I was determined to sell my classic stalker and had an S1 in Columbus that I was ready to pull the trigger on....until I drove it...loved the car but the seats were narrower than my stalker...regretably ended up passing on that one...

Fairly simple Ian7...I live in sw Ohio and purchased the car from an individual in Tennessee. Ohio only requires two things when purchasing a vehicle from out of state...1. The VIN on the title must match the VIN plate on the car..2. You must record the mileage on the vehicle onto the title application...that's it. No other inspection is done. Also, this activity does not have to be done at the DMV as they have specific satellite places...dealerships, repair garages etc. that are authorized to do this....must have been ok in Tennessee also as I recall the the car was licensed there when I purchased it.

To see the car go to: britishv8.org click on photo galleries click on mg sports cars scroll down to mgb and find michael maloney you will see two iterations of the car the first one is with the 4.3 v6 that was in the car for a few years the 2nd one is with the 3.9 aluminum v8...which has been in the car 10 years...

Xcarguy....the price is $16k....have owned this car for 15 years...barely drive it any more except a couple times a year to events usually 500-1000 miles from my house in sw Ohio....barely turns 2k rpm on the interstate with the 3.07 rear axle....old guy gear...chuckle...

Here is a brief explanation of the Arkley...In the late 1960's, John Britten owned a Morgan/Lotus dealership in Arkley, (hence the name) Herfordshire, England, which is a suburb of London. Additionally, John was a successful MG midget motor sports racing driver. In the competitive world of auto sports, removing weight has always been a priority. It was hardly surprising that John began using fiberglass front and rear bodywork to further lighten the car for a competitive edge. Later on, Britten began selling turnkey cars and fiberglass kits for the do it yourself aficionados. In the mid 1970's the kits were licensed to be produced in the United States. The kit, consists of one complete front and one complete rear body section, and transforms a 1962 on Spridget into a lighter and arguably more stylish British Sports car. In order to install the front and rear sections, the front fenders and hood are removed, and the fiberglass front is bolted directly to the original bumper brackets. Portions of the rear fender and trunk are then cut out using a sawsall. Once this is done the rear section is fiberglassed and pop riveted into place. Since all of the original car except the front and rear body sections are retained much of the typical “kit” car assembly and fit problems are avoided and the basic mechanical integrity of the Spridget is unaffected. Painted 1991 Miata SE special edition british racing green. Engine is a freshly rebuilt 3.4L 60 degree V6 with 2000 miles on it. Disc brakes on the front, drums on the rear. Transmission is GM five speed with ten bolt rear axle. VTO mini-lite eight spoke wheels. Speed Hut multi-function gps speedometer and Speedhut tachometer. Innovative and quickly removable rear fender chaps to protect rear fenders. Most all components on this car are easily found and reasonably priced. Acceleration is blistering and handling is precise. I also have the original tow trailer that was custom designed and sold by Brunton. I will make the trailer available to the vehicle purchaser for a separate agreed on price. That is a VW type 181....it was named the "Thing" by VW marketing here in the states...they were imported only two years into US...1973/1974...the one shown is a 73 as it does not have the higher air intakes just behind the rear wheels...They added a shroud also at the rear air intake louvres in 74 to prevent water ingestion...remember..you heard it here first...chuckle PS...Actor Gene Hackman drove one of these quite a bit (exact color too) in an '80's movie..I think it was called "No Way Out" or something like that..

There is a '32 Ford Coupe that hits the local car shows that runs that small 2.5L Montreal V8...I often wondered how that conversion happened..perhaps now I know...chuckle
