Well, first of all, thanks again for everyone's input regarding trailers. After much consideration (thinking long-term ), I’ve pulled the trigger on a spec’d 8.5x20 from inTech Trailers. This is pretty close to what it will look like: http://www.intechtrailers.com/galleries/20-iCon-Series-670/ If all goes as planned (that’s the kiss of death :ack:), it will be ready for pickup on June 10 and will perform its first mission during the July 4th weekend with a tow from from Arkansas to NJMP and return.

Mike, Sounds like you're narrowing it down. I'll be interested to know what Easy Perf finds.

Tom, I contacted Mario. He is still very much plsnning on attending. Mario admitted that he doesn't frequent this forum very often and hadn't seen this post. I sent him a link last week for this post and you should be getting info from him at any tine. I'll touch base with him again today and prod him abut. Shsne

. . . . . or two.

Hey, Mike, Just touching base. I know you've been busy with work, but have you had any time to sort out the start issue with your car? Tried to pm, but your mailbox is full. Sorry for letting the whole world know your a cyber clutter bug. :jester: . . . .

Manshoon11, Went back and reread my post; it did sound condescending. My apologies and thanks for your input.

Installed Accusump system on #85: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=25339 :smash:

The Accusump install is complete. :smash: I've placed a link to the install in the Stalker #85 headed back to Arkansas thread under Member Rides. FWIW, here is a link since it's been discussed in this thread. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=25339

Wow, I guess seat belts and prudence are optional in 'The Kingdom'.

Glad to hear all is going well with the car. And very glad to hear you will make NJMP. I look forward to putting faces and names together in July.
-
Go for the clear film. Will you be able to make NJMP July 4?
-
toedrag, I should have the install finished up in a day or two. :smash: However, other than purging the accumulator, I won't have any real opportunity to properly test the system until I get the car back out on a track. I'm planning on NJMP in July. Not sure if I'll be able to squeeze in another Cresson event before then.

Bogart Racing offers powder coating on their wheels. They offered to powder coat mine when I had them built. I remember asking if powder coating was a decision that had to be made up front and the answer was no. I was told the decision could be made toward the end of the build process. While I elected not to have powder coating done, the conversation I had with with Bogart leads me to believe that powder coating could/would have taken place well after the wheels had been heat treated. I'll give Rich Bogart a call tomorrow and pick his brain about this. FWIW, the wheels that are currently on my Stalker (street wheels) are powder coated black; had the powder coating done long after I bought the wheels and no issues thus far. Here's a couple of before/after shots.

I think we're just a tiny bit past modding; 'modified' L92 in a kit car? :ack: What I'm suggesting to subtlez28 is simply a reroute of his existing air filter in order to make room for either a dry sump reservoir or an Accusump accumulator. With the amount of power his L92 has on tap, I'm pretty sure it'll be okay.

Z, As for battery, you could always go behind the pax seat (mine is there): http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=22732 As for air intake, if you wanted to change the design, you could plumb to a) the other side of the fire wall: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=18776 b) up to the fire wall: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=23102 or c) recess the fire wall (sorry, no photo) :hat: I know I'm stating the obvious (you're familiar), but the oil end of the accumulator needs to sit slightly higher than the air end to help purge the accumulation of air bubbles (from foam in the oil) during pre-oiling. If the accumulator is vertical, pretty much ALL the air will purge. Both are just ideas, but relocating the battery and air intake would allow for the vertical mount on the accumulator and still give you plenty of pax leg room in the foot well. Regardless of which direction you go, definitely take measures to protect the engine; there's no way you are NOT going to drive your car to the edge of it's limits. :jester:

Z, Depending on the size of the tank (dry sump reservoir or Accusump accumulator), you could mount the tank in the most forward part of the passenger foot well. I haven't finished the install yet, but I added a few photos to Gallery that show where I mounted the Accusump accumulator; see link below. The 'accumulator only' (3 qt) is 16" x 4.25". If you decided to go with an Accusump (and do a foot well mount) you may want to consider remote-mounting the air pressure gauge and the Schrader valve for access. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_itemId=25339

The Accusump setup will cost in the neighborhood of $700. Might check with Bonjo2. I think he once had an Accusump system for sale. Might still have it.

I'm pretty sure the whole thing was meant as a joke.

Manshoon11, I like that; may have to steal it. :jester: I felt pretty good about about my time, especially since the track was wet for the first half of the day (that was a completely different kind of 'interesting'). But I have to admit, when I watch guys like Dave Fiorelli run a 1:13, I just have to hang my head humbly and say, "My, my".

Well, here is the answer (hopefully) to the low oil pressure issue. The baffle (and 1/2 qt of oil over full) worked great with the smaller slicks, but with the new wheel/tire combo, the baffle simply can't keep up. According to Improved Racing, the LS baffle is good up to about 1.2 G's. The Traqmate data (taken from five of the fastest laps for the last session of the day) recorded max lateral G loads of anywhere from 1.68 to 1.99. The short video supports the car having experienced sustained G loads in turns in excess of 1.2. Parts List: 1. (1 each) from Jegs, Canton Accusump 3qt, part # 074-24-006 2. Manshoon11, Sorry for the delay. The short video I posted has my fastest lap time for the day; it's the second lap on the video. Just so happens that lap was also the last lap of the last session of the day. I hope no lives were lost during this brief pause.
