  4. Hi all. I'd like to post my car for sale (Actually I'm kinda bummed to sell my car) But I need to pay up to use the For Sale page. I have no problem with that, but can't find the person responsible for taking care of this. I know I'm setting myself up to have twenty people saying "It's me give me your $20!" Thanks in advance
  5. I can vouch for Tony being a straight up person. He brokered the Seven I bought (I still love it) I paid a fair price for it, he helped with the shipping. Helped me get a seat so that I could fit. We need more Tony's
  6. I'm impressed you found such a good parking spot!!
  7. I've been lucky enough to have raced Pikes Peak '87 '92 '93' 94 for Team Mitsubishi. It's a fantastic event. You're there for the whole week doing practice runs (A third of the hill at a time) and doing qualifying (half the hill) The ONLY time you get to run the whole hill in anger is your one timed run! I didn't get to the point that I could close my eyes and remember the whole run was the third year. The first year I remembered the corners I didn't want to go off on (they all have guard rails now). The second year I remembered each corner as I got to it. By the third year I could close my eyes and do the whole run. Nobuhiro has been doing this event for many years, and he is a Monster, he's well over 6'. He's very good. But my true hero is Ari Vatenen. I was lucky enough to be there in 1987 when he got out of the car, not a bead of sweat, not even out of breath! Like Ayrton Senna, there's Ari Vatenen and then there's everybody else. Check out this video:
  8. What a great looking car! It still looks good today! Put some wider tires on it and it would look current. I read somewhere that Colin Chapman demanded that the hood was two layers of fiberglass, so that it had a smooth finish on the inside and didn't look like a kit car!
  9. I would check with them. My guess is the "tube chassis" rule is pertaining to tube frame racecars.
  10. It shows how much fun a 7 is to drive! The fact that you went to that much trouble to be able to drive your car. Great job. Hopefully it's just a temporary solution and you continue to get better so that you can jump in and out by yourself.
  11. I'm from Chichester. I miss the country roads, late night sun in the summer and the racetracks.
  12. I'm in Los Angeles too (Calabasas). I'm with State Farm and I think it's $400 per year. I have it on limited milage (less than 7500) It's so cheap I don't even remember what it is 8-)
  13. I've used the HANS for about two years now. Last year I got it updated to the sliding tethers, that makes a big difference, you are able to turn your head fully from side to side. I also use the Schroth HANS friendly 2" shoulder belts. I don't really notice it when I'm in the car. I used to think there seemed like there was too much slack in the tethers, until I hit a spinning Corvette at about 80mph. I felt my head go forward until they reached the limit of the tethers!! Most sanctioning bodies require them now. I think it's a wise investment.
  14. How about this? http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=259060 The best of both worlds.
  15. While we're on the topic of noise. I have a crossflow with the T9 trans. I was wondering how noisy the trans should be. With the side curtains on I can hear what sounds to me to be quite a bit of trans noise. With no curtains most of it gets drowned out by the buffeting. Maybe I've spent too much time driving German sedans. I'm wondering, is my trans is getting tired or is this normal for a car with virtually no sound deadening?
  16. BMW RACER

    Cat Bites

YOU MUST KEEP THE SEVEN!! Use it as a carrot to dangle in front of your nose to get well soon!!
  17. I watched that show the other night too. I don't like it (Glad I have TIVO) It's only slightly better than TGUSA. It's too bad they didn't get Caterham involved. As I was watching I kept hoping they would say "And now for the Caterham" I think both Caterham and the Car Show missed out there. Interesting that they did discuss the SB100 deal.
  18. Don't feel bad. I had a woman who worked for me who had a Nurburgring necklace. One day a customer asked her if she was from Kentucky? When she asked him why, he said "You have a necklace the shape of the state!!" To make this worse, I own a BMW shop.
  19. Does Allen De Cadenet's life rock or what? He's wealthy, good looking and gets paid to flog multi million dollar cars!! The "road" used in most of the Victory by Design shows is John C Bamford's driveway! That's JCB as in the earthmover company. It usually shows the cars owners names at the end of the show. I like the Ferrari show where half the cars are owned by either Nick Mason or Mark Knopfler. Talk about money for nothing and the chicks for free! This is my favorite De Cadenet clip: A Spitfire flying low - YouTube
  20. I wonder at which point did they think "Ya know, my legs feel warmer than usual from the exhaust"
  21. [quote=readysetgo;57102 Note: He's asking real Lotus money, thats for sure. Looks like it has real Lotus rust!!
  22. Probably not a Lotus, Caterham or Birkin 7. But there are tons of other "sevens" out there. Any chance of getting more pics?
