  1. We just got power back at home and the office. It was a long nine days.
  2. Glad no one was hurt that is.
  3. Hang in there guys, sorry to hear of the effects. Flag nobody was hurt. No power at home or work. The financial impact on having your business closed for a week (or longer). It seems there in not only a gas shortage, but also a shortage of transformers. I did learn race gas burns great in a generator. Karl
  4. That would be a great location for LOG
  5. If anyone has a shiny new CSR that needs higher ground I have a flood free garage and have always been curious on how the independent rear works in the wet.
  6. The Harbor Hotel in Watkins Glen is nice. Sometimes I stay in the Holiday Inn Express in Horseheads when I just need a basic room.
  7. Good price on the alternator kit. I just bought the alternator alone from Cosworth for what you are asking for the whole kit!
  8. Mike! Four secretaries all to yourself? I'm doing something wrong
  9. My Road King with every conceivable bit of chrome on it was still less than 900#. Only 10% as much fun as the Caterham!
  10. I've seen this car do some very fast lap times at Lime Rock!
  11. Maybe it would fit on my Cosworth Duratec motor!
  12. 295 HP + 47% = 434 HP -- That's a good number!
  13. Check out the pistonheads article! http://images.pistonheads.com/nimg/26472/CaterhamR600Superlight_06.jpg http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=26472
  14. http://i913.photobucket.com/albums/ac336/blubarisax/th_IMG-20120902-00038.jpg I guess my kissing the tire wall brought the rules to light. I was happier for being too fast.
  15. well then, I'm just going to get a Porsche 804 body kit for my Caterham.... No one will ever notice
  16. Wish I could make it. I'll be at Watkins Glen practicing for the next NJ Sevens event!
  17. Mike, I suspect my little off at Lime Rock in April got the attention of PCA National. I bet they review all accidents for opportunities to improve safety. PCA does run good HPDEs. They never said anything, but when I tried to register for a NNJR PCA event in August, I was told their insurance did not cover open wheel cars. Being a stand up kind of guy, I checked with the local regions for other events I had already registered for to make sure I was OK. Neither Metro PCA or Riesentoter (Philly) had herd of the "insurance" issue. But when they checked with National, they were told I was not covered. I think they lumped the Caterham in with Open Wheel cars for liability reasons. Another case of lawyers ruling the world through fear of litigation. All the people I met at about a dozen PCA events were great, no issues at all. Not every instructor was comfortable in an open car, but that extended to Porsche Boxters as well. Anyway, it's moved me one step closer to breaking down and joining Tom and Croc at NJMP...
  18. Seriously Jon, we would all love you to join us at the track at the next event!
  19. With your local chapter, I'd use the don't ask strategy if you ever want to do an hpde. I suspect autocross is OK. The new rule is not widely publicized yet. All the regions will allow a Miata as long as it has a rainbow bumper sticker! Just be warned that the GT2 and cup car owners do get awfly crabby when you blow past them on the back straight. The corners they understand. :auto:
  20. Maybe paddle shifters will make me that fast!
  21. You can add a spacer to the boss easily. I have Tilletts and gained about an inch vs. The leather Caterham seats.
  22. What about running in SPU? I don't see it in the GCR, but was told by an official in my region that the car would fit. Have not gone for a log book yet, but I did get SCCA National to approve my cage (built by Caged to the Caterham design with an FIA sticker).
  23. The driver (Pete) is a heck of a nice guy, perhaps too nice. I bet that is why he was trying to let you past in the corner, obviously not the right place to point by. He came out way too wide, missing the apex and tried hard to correct and avoid running out of track. I know the feeling of that crazy yellow caterham gaining on you fast and wanting to get out of the way ASAP!!!
  24. My Caterham did not have the captive nuts. The windscreen just bolted onto the scuttle. I put them in myself, it was easy. You have to remove the knee panels, but they were just about half a dozen screws.
  25. Looks like a good deal on an essentually new R400. Nice color too!
