  1. I don't think 2 Sevens could do that.
  2. Reservations made at Fairfield Marriott. SCCA Rate is a good deal. Brings it down to $109 a night .... and no track noise.
  3. Just when I thought the green S1 was the best looking S1 I'd ever seen.
  4. Great. You are further along than I thought you would be, But then I did not know you would suck the kids into the madness ;~) BTW Why did you elect to choose springs with fewer coils? See you in July
  5. the one on the right Can it be done by 7/2??
  6. BTW I found this on pricing for CR500 wheels dated 2012. Hi Michael Current price for 6.5" x 13" MB R500 wheels £253 each 8.5" x 13" £266 each MikeBarnby@aol.com
  7. FWIW I use 75 on my CR500 wheels
  8. Mike, I checked my file and found the bill for cams, porting, valves, pistons and head work. Engine dyno report of 216HP. I can double check with Quicksilver if you like. Great day fir a ride with the top dowm (Z3) as seven is on stands for season prep.
  9. Greg, Eric at Quicksilver Race Engines in Frederick Md redid my motor with the same basics. (301-698-9009) He might be of some help as they were a Pectel dealer at one time. I have a map on CD somewhere. If I find it and can copy it off I can send it to you if you think it could help. FWITW: My car has always run rich and smelled. However, it has not had a cat converter since the addition of TBs pistons and cams.
  10. Talk about a surprise. My bonnet did pop off at about 115 mph on the front straight at Summit Point. It shot straight up from the front and planted itself straight up against the roll cage. I just moved to the left slowed down to where I could pull it off and toss it to the grass and carried on. At the end of the event the track workers brought it to me and I popped it back on the car. Very lucky indeed.
  11. Are Caterhams still using Pectel ECUs?
  12. Yes. But, he did have a heater. Did you see him adjust it?
  13. Bob, Have you thought about attending the July 7s at NJMP? It is a great long weekend wit about 20 other Sevens on track at all levels of experience. I think you would enjoy it. Michael D
  14. Bob, You get up much to early for me. That said, when it hit 52 degrees I just had to take the Seven out. I needed a fix. The roads and interstates went from somewhat dry to very wet with rapid snow melt. This caused copious amounts of spray that I assume that included salt. Glad I had the full screen and with wipers on for the winter. After a 30 minute run it was time to give the car got a complete bath including under the car and the engine bay.
  15. Why would he attend? Without him they might just feed on each other. I'll read the paper in the morning.
  16. Great recap, My bet is those who own a Seven for what ever reason also own at least one other car to service the needs that their Seven can not. Correct? If that statement is not true for anyone on this list, please speak up, for you are truly hard core.
  17. Comparing our Sevens to normal cars makes as much sense as comparing us to normal people. The weekend I got my seven (after waiting 40 years to get one) I drove it 1,000 miles over the three day July 4th weekend in temps over 100 and lost 10 pounds but no sunburn. Heater? A seven doesn't need a heater. Just remove the pedal cover off and let the warm air blowing by the headers blow right in. Put doors on if you must for wind buffeting from the windscreen or take the windscreen off. Cut the windscreen down to 6.5 inches. it cures the wind issues. But leave the top off unless you are driving to slow in the rain. My Seven is my daily driver 8 months of the year. Living live inside the DC beltway. Most of my miles are on the interstate. So what? Remember, it's the smiles per mile that count. A Seven is always fun. Even a three block ride to pick up some groceries is fun. My dog loves riding in the Seven. Yes, he is snapped into the four point belts. As I write, I am looking out at the start of a blizzard wondering if will be able to take my seven for a ride between piles of snow that are taller than my roll cage on Sunday.
  18. Bob, Nice half top. Did it come with the car?
  19. Mike , That is a good point. You don't seem to care about which side of the track you mow.
  20. That's why i never wear after shave when I drive.
  21. Mike Don't fool yourself. With a Lotus dealer just 4 blocks from my house, I get to try on an Elise every now and then. I swear it is harder to get in and out of than my Seven. Especially the out of part. Congrats on 3,000. I didn't know you were only working part time ;-)
  22. How many members do we have :-)?
  23. Kevin, Hope you feel better in the morning. We went to Cuba in May.
