2 year wait worth it!

Recommended Posts

I have been waiting on this engine for over 2 years and its finally done. I think it was worth the wait. Its a 2.2L and the 2nd highest hp NA engine that I have ever seen. Mine runs on pump gas the other engine was running on race gas and bested this engine by 1 hp.

The main improvement in this engine is the torque. It makes nearly 60 ft/lb more @ peak than a stock motor but the torque curve is much wider. This engine makes big torque from 3100-9000 rpm. Where a stock engine makes 162 ft/lb @6500. This engine makes that about 3200 rpm and it goes up from there. It should make it much more drivable with fewer shifts and much more pull thru corner exit.

Now I just need an Elite racing sequential trans to make the package complete. I am tempted while the exchange rate is favorable. Its still a butt load of $$$ which is really tough to convince my wife I need.

I'm not sure why the picture rotated but you get the idea.

Yah, I saw that picture and thought "wow that oil filter is going to hang really low, I hope he has a skid plate for it..." :D

Being a Duratec I was also surprised you could run the S2K engine on its side. Thanks for clearing that up. :jester:

It is a Honda F22c.

In current tune it makes 340 hp. I had one tune that made 348hp but it lost torque on the lower end so I opted for the better torque curve.

I am going to experiment with velocity stacks a bit. The longer stacks made even better torque, but I thought I might experience clearance issues. So once it's in the car with the final exhaust and final fitting we can tweek the tune a little more.

I do have some dyno charts I can put up when I get a chance.

Busa the supercharger is still an option I just wanted to keep it simple. The CR is 13:5 to 1. I won't be able run more than 7 lbs which would be good increase if needed.

Hahahahaha....i don't believed its an option.....I know your next move.

Like what Gen. Patton said to Rommel ....."I read your book bastard "

WOW, I thought the 309 Hp Cosworth Duratec that Blubarisax built in now my Orange car was strong. Go for the sequential. I like the Sadev in my car with the flappy paddles. :cooldude:

Tom

I looked at the Sadev it is a little more expensive and it doesn't have the torque capacity of the Elite in case I bump the power up in the future. Elite also makes a bell housing for the Honda that works with a stock style clutch. I just have to upgrade the pressure plate and disc a much cheaper option compared to the multi stage clutches.

I do have seat time in a more powerful Ultralite so this will be a step down power wise. Its been a few years without a car so I need to ease back into it.

. . . . . . I'm not sure why the picture rotated . . . . . .

Becasue of all that d#@$&n torque!!!!!......that's why!!! Imagine what it'll do to the car when you mash the go pedal........probably flip it over! :jester:

Well, I suppose now you want those fancy, light weight front fenders back. :smilielol5:

. . . . . . .

Xcarguy I know its not v8 torque where you leave it in 3rd gear and putt around the track at 160 mph passing everyone on their 20 min cool down session. Those of us with engine bay to small to swallow a v8 have to do all we can to stay on the same lap as you Storker owners.

Id be happy to take those light weight fenders off your hands if you would like.

Glad to see you've finally got her back... that's phenomenal HP for natural aspiration!

I see the new Kraftwerks supercharger says it delivers 400hp for stock motor (plus header). Curious which choice would give the cheaper price per horsepower and/or if there's any reliability differences (assume your engine internals are quite beefed up).

Man, can't imagine the power your motor would make with a SC (haven't even driven it yet and we're already talking about more power;) Silly ain't it. Well I'm living vicariously through your efforts. Keep it up!
