Paul - If you are interested, we will have a few NJMP instructors in the sevens run group that you could accompany as a passenger if you are interested. Just bring an in-date helmet if you have one. If not then we will work out some solution closer to the date.

Sounds like fun Mike.

The last time I let someone take Rosemarie for "little" ride got REALLY expensive....

I was helping a buddy with his Lotus 61 vintage Formula Ford, trying to sort some handling issues on a Friday practice session at Mont Tremblay. He was going to race his Lotus 7 Saturday and Sunday but used Friday for the 61. At days end he suggested Rosemarie could take a little ride with him while he warmed up the 7 to change the oil. Silly me....I forgot the 7 was still licensed, so where I thought they would take a quick tour through the paddock they were gone almost an hour through the surrounding countryside. You couldn't get the grin off her face with a paintbrush...I was told in no uncertain terms that she NEEDED one of those. And the search was on.....

Can't imagine what the next "little ride" will cost me....

I'm planning to be there Saturday & Sunday. Won't be able to make it for Monday. Thanks for putting it all together Mike & Tom. Any shot at one of the days on Thunderbolt?

Hi Jim - Hope you are doing well? Sadly Thunderbolt is not on the cards as it is not available for any weekend. I really did try as I never really ran it last year myself! It was booked solid by Porker Club of America Track Crash Days or any number of bike track riding clubs. It gets difficult to get weekends at Thunderbolt as most groups prefer it, particularly bike groups.

Hey Mike,

Not a problem. I've actually never run Lightning. Looks like a great track for a Seven. Some issues to work out with the car first but tracking em (very punny) down one at a time.

Looking forwards to the weekend.

Have you seen the accident rate on the PCA days? It is worryingly high. There are many theories for this - I believe it comes down to the intelligence of the owners. :seeya:

And for bike days - Millville Hospital sends a person down to sign them all up as donors. The only bit of the body they don't take for donation is the brain....

As a possibility of an add on - as of today there is a possibility to rent the Lightning track on either the morning or full Monday July 6 for a very concessional amount. Catch is that it would be a max of 6 cars in the paddock running open pit lane format. So we could not accommodate everyone - it would be first in scores the place.

Thoughts?

As a guide - price would be $350-375pp for this. Before anyone complains about how much I will point out that you get open track time from 9-12.30 with only 5 other cars on track max. So it is a pretty exclusive private track experience.

I am still in. Cost of travel/room/board are all taken care of so this isn't that much of a stretch. OTOH, it is pretty boring to run on an empty track:ideally I am chasing or being chased. But 4-5 other cars should do the trick.

Will Do Dave, Glad you are going to join in on the fun again. What new tricks do you have in store for this year? You really stepped up your game last year. :seeya:

Well, I'd already told Croc that I would more than likely not get to make the event this year. I was keeping my finger crossed, but today, the final nail was put in the coffin. Beach house rental for our 17th annual extended family vacation is during the July 4th weekend. Last year, I was (we were) able to move the beach house dates around to accommodate the USA7’s funfest, but this year was a no-go. So, since family outings to the beach trump track days, the Storker will be at home in the shop, moping about. If there are any out there who are considering making this event, let me encourage you to do so. Mike and Tom go above board to ensure all have a great time. As for me…….hopefully next year. :(

Damn and blast - booked up for Cancun to meet up with a friend for her 40th birthday.

Mike - as an aside, I may be working in NYC during March. I've dropped Angus a line - I'll let you know nearer the time in case you are around and fancy food / drink......

Steve - Thats just not acceptable. You need to get your priorities right. I would bring your friend to Millville instead. We are much more fun than Cancun!

Whispers PS: Is she good looking?
