With events at Barber and Talledega...and Sevens being the featured model (60th anniversary, dontchaknow).

Caravan from Northeast (with obligatory stop by Tail of the Dragon on way down/up) anyone?

I'm making plans to attend and after the event to explore some of the roads in the area and on up to the tail of the dragon. I will be trailering the Caterham but plan to unload it when I find interesting roads.

Who else is going to LOG 37?

I will be going. I'm still trying to work out logistics to get the Seven there; we will definitely drive the Elise. The event sounds great. We've been to Barber twice before for LOGs, and the museum will be much bigger this time. ...and, the laps of Talladega (pictured below) were great!

I haven't registered yet, but I plan on being there. Although it is only about 4.5 hours, I'll probably have to trailer also. But, the trailer gives me a GREAT secure parking spot at night...

I have a lot of pictures left to be processed; will post some when I get home. Here's day 1, at Talladega Superspeedway...

Bob-

Sorry I didn't get to meet you in Birmingham. I was at the event for less than 24 hours total...but that gave me time to run into some old friends (like USA7s founding member Scott Nettleship, 7-7-7 attendees Taber Tompkins, Dean Giacopassi, and Norm Beaver, and one of the true OGs of the club, Scott Lentz...who I first met on the Blue Ridge 11 or so years ago) and make some new ones — including Seven owner Bill Baldwin, whose patina'd Series 2 has always been a bit of a benchmark for me.

I had been to Barber back in 2009, the last time a LOG was held there, and the new addition and expanded exhibits are really wonderful and worth visiting even if you've been before. I didn't stay for the Saturday night banquet, but heard that Dean's Series 1 took first in the Sevens category of the informal concours!

TBH, I was surprised there weren't more Sevens there, given it's the 60th anniversary and all...

P.S. A shoutout to Dave Hutchison of Ragtops & Roadsters for trailering "Bessie" (aka SB1341) down to Birmingham...thanks Dave (and his co-driver Al)!

Al:

I was unable to bring my Seven; we drove the Elise. I hope to have both at Cleveland (where LOG 38 will be held August 10th thru 13th in 2018).

Maybe we can meet then!

Some pictures from the Barber Museum on Saturday. I just love the 1:1 plastic mold tree of the Seven on display. It reminds me of the backdrop used on Top Gear, several years ago.

Dean Giacopazzi's Seven.

Ron Flier, posing with a Cosworth engine. If you know Ron, ask him about why he is 'touching' the Cosworth!

Finally, a bunch of Sevens - up front at the concours!

LOG 38 in Cleveland next year, hmmm, wonder if Nelsons Ledges will be the track day venue? I wonder if it finally be resurfaced?

@Tom: The perennial issue with your trackway weekends for me is that the fencing Summer Nationals are often held around the same time of the year. So I'm in Salt Lake City this year. Otherwise, I would have definitely popped in...as I have in years past.

Additionally, one thing I do like about LOG is that it allows me to see older (read "Lotus") Sevens in varying states of repair/originality...so I get a better benchmark of where my car stands in comparison wrt originality, aesthetics, etc.

My wife and I drove down to Barber Motorsports Park last weekend primarily for the HMSA event but also recognized Log 37 was going on. Took a few photos of the early Sevens arrivals and spoke with Norm Beaver before going back to our race viewing spot.
