Shaping up to be another good turn out. Looks like we will have a good mix of veterans and new attendees. The more the merrier. Should be a nice mix of Marques as well, Last year the Storkers were conspicuously absent. Will Shane get his act together and make it this year? Inquiring minds want to know. We really miss Suave. :jester:

I took my car over to the shop today. It started right up after sitting since November. General maintenance, oil change, Brake Fluid change, bearing check and a complete nut and bolt check. Replacing and moving the inertial cutoff switch to inside the cockpit as I had it trip last season on track and sat in the infield all session waiting to be towed in. Felt good to drive the Caterham again even if it was just down the street to put it in the trailer. Hope to see you all in July. tom

Less than four months to go now. I thought I'd give it another bump to see if I can shake a couple more of you out of your winter funk and get you to raise your hand as a possible attendee. No commitment, just like to get an idea who is planning on coming and to see if we can shake a few more of you out of your comfort zone to come out and join us at the track. Croc says that he will refund your fee if you don't enjoy yourself. :jester: So get your car ready and make your plans. Hotel booking is never too early.

Come on Spring!!! Tom

Agree!

Just missing my ECU stuck somewhere between the UK and the US. Probably victim of the new travel ban as well. Hope to receive it before July 1st but i may have to apply for special ECU visa.

As an aside, looking for used set of 13" r500 or BBS rims for slicks. Determined to get in the low 1:12 or mid 1:11 s at lightning. Any idea?

Lastly, Blake, any chance you ll be ready with your car by then? if you work day and night, could be a great milestone for you.. Would be fun to drive together - caravan style - from CT.

Just some random thoughts: How wide do you want the rims to be/how wide are the slicks? GR Motorsports tested rims and tires a while back and found that wider rims added more support to the tire and were worth abt 1" a lap, on the same tire (One set had been squeezed onto a smaller width rim). And, do you have dry sump system? The higher g-forces of slicks can cause oil starvation/engine failure in a stock oil pan setup. Good luck with the MIA ECU. Maybe it's time for a "backup":)?

I now have the ZZR 185/55/13 in front and 215/55/13 in the rear, on caterham apollo rims 13x6,5 and 13x8.5 i think. Looking for a bit more tire in front potentially.

And yes, i do have a dry sump, so we are all good for north of 70 - 75 mph in the bowl.

Any upgrades this year?

Tom,

No. Car is sitting waiting for new timing belt pulleys. The idler pulley bearing disintegrated. I cracked one of the front fenders at the mounting bolt (thanks to one of the many bad spots on the roads here). I have not driven it much this year. I had hoped to work on it this year and paint it, but too many other things have taken priority.

I am not sure I am going to make this but I am going to try. I have been working in College Park MD since January. Our house in Chicago went on the market today. So far we have 4 showing in the first day so that is a good sign. The agents open house is Thursday, the public open house Sunday. If I can get a new house and get the car moved to MD by the event I am in, at least I will come as a spectator. The car is all ready to go, an oil change at the most. I even got a Hans device as my safety upgrade for this year. I put my chances at 50:50 but we will give it our best.

Hi Graham

Its still end of March and you have 3 months to go. This is peak time for selling houses given the corporate hiring cycle so be positive it will take place (says the person taking a year to renovate a kitchen....:banghead: ). If you want to bring your car over early, I have storage for your car in my garage and a secure trailer parking spot. Then all you do is fly in or drive in and enjoy the track time and drive it on to MD at the end.

cheers

mike

Croc: In your opening post you noted the possibility of a small Monday test and tune? I am just following up on that possibility-if it happens, mark me down. As I have posted before, 2 years ago when I did it, I learned more that Monday a.m. (before my engine died) puttering around by myself and a few others than the previous weekend where I was constantly trying to be fast. So on Monday I was playing with braking zones/turn ins/lines/acceleration spots without the pressure of not being passed etc.

...without the pressure of not being passed etc.

You? Pressure? Passing? :rofl::rofl::rofl:

I think thats your problem - I gave up caring who I passed or passed me years ago apart from you and your stone chip cloud that follows you around. :troll:

I have you noted for the Monday - I have not got any approvals back from NJMP on that yet.

Well the first part of the puzzle has fallen into place. The house was on the market for 5 days and we excepted an over asking price offer. Closing May 11th. So now we just have to find/buy a house on MD.

Friends

What is the tally right now? I'm counting the days ... Can't wait to see you all soon. Blake, will we see you with your car? Will you have completed it in time?

Seb, right now we have 16 drivers who have said they are planning on coming. I heard from a couple of regulars today who have family conflicts so they are out this year. Still haven't heard from all the regulars yet and there are a few others in driving distance that might still throw their hats in the ring. I still think we can get to 20+ this year with a little luck. Tom
