Assuming you are heading towards Philly on I-76 heading east then:

1) Take exit 331A to get on to I-476 South

2) Follow it to I-95 then take I-95 heading south

3) About 1-2 miles after that, exit 4 on I-95 South will take you onto Rt 322 East across the Commodore Barry Bridge

4) Follow Rt322 heading east until you reach Rt 55 (a CVS and Dunkin Donuts are landmarks on the right about 0.5 mile before the exit)

5) Follow Rt 55 heading south to Exit 24 of Rt 55 (ignore the signs for NJMP exit 27)

6) At the base of the ramp on Exit 24 take a right onto Rt 49

7) Follow Rt 49 through downtown over the bridge and very soon after the bridge take a left onto Cedar Street (Blinkers Custard is on the corner)

8) At the first traffic light take a left onto South Race Street (also known as Rt 555)

9) Follow past the school (on the right) and take the first right onto Dividing Creek Road

10) GPS address is 8000 Dividing Creek Road (although Google maps sometimes shows it as 1701 Dividing Creek Road)

Taking I-476 brings you south and away from central Philadelphia traffic.

Do NOT just rely on your GPS. Mine took me off I-76 and thru downtown Philly. Towing a trailer in Friday afternoon, pre 4th of July traffic. The ensuing trackday was a relaxing drive in comparison!

Thanks for the info. The first time I came to the event my GPS took me the same way Kitcat's did and I was just hoping I was in the correct lane. Last year I think I got off I-76 on PA100 and it was easy.

Tom, If you used Pa 100, then you will get off the Turnpike at the Downingtown Exit, #312 and take Pa 100 S to Rt 202S. Then you can follow 202 S, to connect with I 95 North then get off onto 322E which will put you on the Commadore Barry Bridge.

What similar advice do people have for turnpike south to Millville? (exit3 -> 295 -> 42/55 ->55 south ?) this looks potentially painful.

I've always come down the parkway and left by the turnpike so I only know Croc's recommended route when heading north.

Paul, if you are coming down the NJ Tpk., you could go down to the exit that gets you onto 322E and take 322 E to 55S. 322 is a single lane for the most part, easy, just don't speed. It may be a bit longer but gets you away from that 42 nightmare, that I don't even like driving in just a car.

Well....my rule of thumb heading south is:

1) Afternoon rush hour traffic scenario around New York and Philly

Garden state parkway south until it hits the Noo Joisey Turnpike. Then follow that south until exit 2 - exit and pick up Rt 322 heading east and follow directions that I posted above.

2) Regular traffic day

Pick up NJ Turnpike. Truck lanes usually work best - especially weekends. Follow south to exit 4. At end of exit 4 ramp go right on to Rt 73 west towards Philadelphia. Go 0.5 mile and take I-295 south. Get on I-295 south and sit in middle lane (essential). Follow this when it splits for Walt Whitman bridge and Rt 42/I-295 south. Stay in the same lane. About 0.5 mile further Rt42 split off from I-295 south - follow Rt42. Continue to stay in this lane. Follow Rt 42 east and about a mile down the road Rt55 branches off to the south. Take Rt55 south and follow the earlier directions to Millville. If you stay in the center lane on I-295 then you can just flow I-295 to Rt 42 to Rt 55 without a lane change needed.

If the time of day is right then option 2 saves about 15-20 minutes from Option 1. If in doubt just go option one - it easy with a trailer.

Sorry Roman, my wife said no. :jester:

Countdown down to one week now. Hopefully all your last minute fixes, purchases, etc are almost done. Last night while changing out my face shield on my helmet my headset for the intercom fell apart. New sticky Velcro ordered on Ebay, hopefully comes in by Thursday. Need to change over the coolant to the summer mix, but other than cleaning off the rubber marks from the last year of driving, I'm good to go, will start packing up the truck and trailer next week. Still time to register if you get the urge. Can't wait to see you all.

haha. thanks for asking Tom. Another fellow has some space so ill be staying with him. Im burning the midnight oil over at the shop trying to get her ready! One of the pushpins for my electric fan wore through a bar on my rad so im working to get the new one in as well as have a slight alignment change in caster and camber for the front. Looking to get more competitive this year in something more than gardening and coolant system issues.
