Neiljhamilton
Planning on attending the event for 1st time this year. Will be running a Caterham 7, which like the driver, is a little on the older side! Will be coming down from CT with friend Sebastian K and his self built Caterham. Looking forward to being back at NJMP after a long absence!
yellowss7
Welcome aboard Neil. Hopefully Seb's bad influences haven't corrupted you. I'll add you to the list. Tom
BlueBDA
Neiljhamilton: Would both of you be driving your Sevens down, or trailering them? I am in the Boston area. Am planning to trailer, but if you are going to drive them down I might do that instead and join you...
Black Hole
I will be driving my 7 down from West Hartford. I went two years ago and I think I was the only one who did not trailer. I will likely convoy down with wemtd who will trailer his Birkin. I did drive with the side screens and earplugs. I think without the side screens it would be a loooong trip. And I have full weather protection if really necessary. Though driving the NJ Turnpike in the rain may be pretty dodgy! And full disclosure, my car is a SV (wide body) with standard Caterham seats so I can shift around a bit
wemtd
ear plugs and helmet when driving long distances on interstates. I put my ezpass on the top right corner of windscreen: This is a must for all the tolls between Boston & Millville Oh.. and watch out for moving chicanes in NJ. BlackHole very nicely handled a full sized mattress in the center lane two years ago. p.
Croc
Lets be realistic - its I-95. Its not a great drive and the potholes are fearsome this year - I doubt they will all be fixed in time. At least one trailer mother hen amongst a few drivers gives you some backup if BlackHole decides to take another nap in the center lane.
Kitcat
The prospect of driving my se7en on I-95 to get to this event is what finally motivated me to buy a trailer, a tow vehicle, and to rent a storage spot for my trailer. Worth every penny:). If you are convoying with WentMD, best to follow him rather than lead the parade, to stay visible to other drivers. If you are up front, in the cut and thrust of interstate driving someone could easily plan a fast pass of him, then dive instantly in front of him, only to see your se7en, maybe too late. BlueBDA
Brookland screens, no weather gear, 6-hour drive from MA - sounds like I should rent a trailer.
Kitcat
A busy interstate is the polar opposite of the environment in which a se7en was designed to operate. I did log many miles on less-busy interstates in my original street legal Caterham. It was always somewhat frightening, especially at night or worse, in the rain. Being visible to distracted drivers was questionable-their sight lines did not include looking way down to pavement level to see my little gnat-like vehicle. Tractor trailers and huge RV's were especially intimidating. If you have ever driven on glare ice, you have an approximation of the feeling of being constantly on high-alert. I think driving in a se7en convoy, or with sympathetic drivers towing their se7ens would definitely help. And of course, having a trailer also solves the problem of getting home, should there be a track incident or reliability issue. I am not saying don't do it: I drove my 1st Caterham everywhere. Just be prepared for what you are getting into-it's not like driving a Miata.
Black Hole
Forgot about that mattress. That was exciting! With only Brooklands I would definitely go the trailer route.
Croc
For those who need it, there is secure overnight storage available in my garage at NJMP. I think our best ever storage record is 12 sevens for one night along with my Mustang.
BlueBDA
I am planning to camp (tent). Anything I need to do in advance to reserve a spot?
Croc
No - you can book when you arrive. You may want to camp in the trailer parking area since this is midway between the two circuits and a very short walk to the clubhouse where there are showers, pool, bar, etc.

simon450
OK I’ve started to think about track days again. I’ll be there for sure. Happy to offer passenger rides and to provide some driving instruction for Seb, he must have forgotten how to do it by now. yellowss7
Hi Steve.:seeya: Great to hear that you will be making the trip out once again. You are one of the charter members, wouldn't be the same without you. Croc was just saying the other day that you haven't popped up yet because you were probably in the garage Polishing your 7. As for your coolant issue, did you bite the bullet and replace the head gasket? You've done most everything else. Been there done that too with Orange. You're the 20th to raise your hand, and we still have quite of few of the past regulars to hear from. Yeah, I'm talking about you Fred, Dave D, Shane, Jim A., Blake, Matt. Plus there were several more that thought they'd make last year, but had issues that prevented them from making it. Come on guys, I'm still thinking that we might get 30 cars out if everyone gets their act together. The more the merrier. And we are doing both tracks again this year. If you haven't done Thunderbolt, you will love it. Tom
yellowss7
Word on the street is that a new hi spec Birkin is getting close to completion and may be coming East soon. So assuming my impeccable source is correct and Tom C doesn't slack off, I'm going to add this car and driver to our list of NJMP attendees. That will bring the number up to 21, with still quite a few others that have been there or had hoped to make it last year. FEO7, Dave D, Carl B, Dermot, Inchoate, DrewBrees, Blake and FredM. I'm hoping you are all working hard on your cars and will step up and join us. :smash: Tom 1) Croc 2) YellowSS7 3)Vovchandr 4)Jcerier 5)Wemtd 6)Fast G 7)Chris S 8)Kitcat 9) Dan F 10) Scott L 11) Jeff H 12) Seb 13) Roman 14) John B 15) Tom C 16) Blackhole (Jay) 17) Neil H 18) Dave H. 19) Simon450 20) Steve M 21) Steve O
