11Budlite
I've been out of the Seven scene after having to sell my Birkin several years back, but I'm excited to be getting back in the game. Placed an order for a 2019 Caterham 310S, in BRG w/white nose band, lowered floors, leather seats, and a tonneau cover. Was interested in the BRG Caterham roller that was on Ebay a while back, but ended up speaking with Jon, Ross, and Josh at Rocky Mountain Caterham and decided to order a new kit and build it myself. Didn't want to miss out on that part of the experience! Exciting times ahead!!
Lucky-7
Congratulations Bruce! When is your due date? LOL What other options did you go for if any? Keep us posted. I'm very happy for you and I hope you love building it. I know I did! If you have any questions please ask! Croc
Congratulations Bruce. You are so overdue to do this. What production slot timing did you get? What options have you selected?
Vovchandr
Congrats! Why just a band and not a band/stripe down the middle?

I'm very happy for you and I hope you love building it. I know I did! If you have any questions please ask! Kenny Thanks Kenny, I've been VERY interested following your build. I'm expecting delivery around the middle/late August. The only options I went for were the 310 engine package, lowered floors, leather seats, and tonneau cover. Still recovering from my divorce so couldn't go too crazy! After spending almost 4-5 years of my spare time fixing/modifying my Birkin, this build should actually be a lot quicker. I've been reading the build manual but I'm sure I'll have questions so thanks. Would love to see your car someday!
11Budlite
Congratulations Bruce. You are so overdue to do this. What production slot timing did you get? What options have you selected? Thanks Mike! The build is supposed to start in June with delivery in the middle/end of August. Couldn't go crazy so the only options are what I originally listed. 11Budlite
Congrats! Why just a band and not a band/stripe down the middle? Thanks Vovchandr! I would have done the stripe too but I have an all yellow Caterham nose at home and want to be able to swap out the nose cone for a different look. If I had the stripe I'd have to swap out the bonnet and scuttle too. Was thinking of getting another spare nose cone painted BRG with an orange band to replicate the BRM colors from the sixties. Would look like this:
11Budlite
The kit is complete and waiting to be crated/shipped to the US. Exciting times!
Kitcat
Looking (very) good Bruce! That is my favorite se7en color. It will look great with the yellow nose cone. I will be interested in your build experience. It seems that the most reliable se7ens are home-built versions, where cost and time are no object. I am thinking of Mighty Mike and YellowSS for example. Dumb question: what does the "S" signify in the 310S model?
Croc
S = road touring spec. R = track spec In substance, the track one will get an aero screen, Tillets, maybe LSD, 13 inch wheels, etc. It’s an option packaging that focuses on intended usage. But it’s not hard and fast. I have a 420R and I have the leather seats.

My youngest daughter almost convinced me to go with black with a different color nose band/stripe but figured I was safer going with my all-time favorite of BRG. I don't plan on spending as much time on the Cat as I did on my Birkin because I don't plan on doing many modifications, if any. It definitely won't be rushed though. yellowss7
The nice thing about Caterhams builds is that it really is just an assembly, no fab necessary. 80 hours total time is about what it took and I'm no mechanic. Take your time. And enjoy the process. PS, the key to reliability is preventive maintenance IMO. Yellow has been Autoxed or Tracked since new and it just needs a little routine TLC. Kitcat, Yellow is in no way comparable to Mighty Mike's build. He's a craftsman. I'm not worthy. :svengo:

Thanks for your input Tom. I've been reviewing the build guides and the new IKEA style guide makes it look pretty easy....but with anything British you can never be too sure! Should be fun anyway!! Definitely looking forward to some fun drives! Yes, I'd be glad to help. Mine is also BRG with the classic yellow stipe and nose band. There are some nice roads around your area so hopefully we can meet up before salt season.
