Setting up a Doug DeMuro 7 review? (California owners)

Recommended Posts

I've been watching quite a few Doug DeMuro reviews of cool and rare cars. Just watched his review of Senna McLaren and thought it would be cool to have him do a Caterham.

Unfortunately I'm on the other coast and have no means of facilitating that however if any California owner would like to arrange a review I think it would be neat to do our cars another American review (very few of those).

As California Caterham forum is pretty dead, this seems like a better avenue to start the process of reaching out.

Is anybody active here on from the SoCal area or can reach out to somebody out there?

MoPho Morgan Segal could be perfect but I'm not sure if he still has his or is active anymore. He's even got the aero screen on which would make for a better review.

I agree it would be entertaining.

But isn’t this the job of the US importer/dealers?

Probably is. But that's not something I can help with, however seeing if there are any volunteers in SoCal is something I can inquire about.

For those wondering this is the guy who does the reviews that I'm referencing

Unfortunately I couldn't make a thread on California Caterham forum even if I wanted too. My account never got the right permissions to post/make threads and reaching out to admins or anybody else fell on deaf ears. I even tried to make a second account, but same issues.

Can anybody with an activated account on California Caterham forum cross post it there? Even though it's not very active it will give this a good chance of being seen by right people.

My account doesn't have the permission and it doesn't seem to be actively managed or supervised by anybody.

The only good thing about Doug Demuro is his "features" part of his videos. A 7 has none, which leaves the driving part of his videos.

Watching him drive cars on the street is pretty bland and uninteresting. So, it's no surprise people don't care to offer up a vehicle for him to "review"

Now, if Chris Harris were to do a video on an older 7...

I disagree. It's "quirks and features" which a 7 has plenty. He did an Atom not too long ago and 7 has far more interesting tid bits to cover due to its history. Use of wood in assembly, caravan tail lights etc.

Watching him drive it with an aero screen wouldn't be boring either.

Not a Caterham, but RNR bought Mighty Mike's V8 SuperStalker…. probably one of, if not, the nicest ones you'll ever find. He's up in the Bay Area. It would make for a nice review.
