They think an entry level price is $55,000!

Autoweek - Stop us if you’ve heard this before: Lotus is planning on building a car for the masses. At least, that’s what CEO Phil Popham told Bloomberg recently.

Entry level is even more! "saying it will be priced between £55,000 and £100,000 (around $68,000 and $123,000)"

Good idea. Let Caterham buy the rights, then Westfield can make their own copy that's a little closer than Caterham feels is reasonable, and we can watch the resulting litigation on the Court Channel. It will be like old times! :)

$55K, and-dealers few and far between, unacceptable reliability, unobtainable parts, BUT telepathic driving experience, etc., etc.(I'm in:)).

BTW, it seems to be a foregone conclusion that it's soon to be an all-electric world. I don't remember voting for that! What I foresee is USA = Cuba in 50 years. Ancient internal combustion engined vehicles being held together by bailing wire and high end duct tape, still transporting the masses. Sort of the mid- 21st century version of '56 DeSotos in Havana today.

Kitcat - I'm thinking that horses may be a better analogy. Once the prime method of transportation, slowly becoming playthings for those who can afford it. Specialized events, grooming at home and occasional fun alongside the new ones. But not for everyday use.
