Element fire extinguisher mounting

I bought one of these

which I plan to mount in my seven. Trying to determine the best location to mount it. I'd rather not drill any holes.

Best I've come up with is to cable tie the mounting bracket to one of the verticals or the diagonal on the roll bar, and then wrap with a velcro strap or two for extra security. Sound good? Any other ideas?

I bought one of those for the new Cat - they look a great piece of kit based on the video demonstrations.

I have always preferred to mount my fire extinguisher on the passenger side footwell, gearbox tunnel side.  That way I can unbuckle, single handedly grab it then exit car ready to act.   Also, it is hidden when parked as the tonneau would be over it.   I would suggest you try a few places where you practice grabbing it in a hurry.

If the mount is good, you should not need extra securement, Velcro or otherwise.  Seconds count if you need to use it.  Mine is on the roll bar vertical, on my side of car.  In case of a problem, my thought is: switch off, exit car, then the extinguisher is right at hand.  Probably 20 ways.

Thanks guys. I think roll bar on driver's side of the car makes sense for me.

One thing I've thought about is if there's a fire around the engine taking the bonnet off quickly and safely might be a challenge. Run around to undo all for latches, and then when I take it off I have to lean in towards the center of the car. Might be a pretty hazardous thing to do with flames under the bonnet...

Generally, opening a hood on any car with a fire is dangerous because of the great influx of air to the fire.  If you can see where the fire is and have a body opening, shoot there first, maybe through vents on top, gap around intake/exhaust.  Since the hood does need to be opened, it should be with 2 people, so one can aim the extinguisher immediately.  Help!

Late to the party.

I am looking for a fire extinguisher for my 7.

Had a carb fire the other day and it really woke me up!!!!!

Is this one any good?

Wanted to buy an H3R Halguard but cannot get one on Maui.

Like the product but was never happy with my various lame mounting solutions.  They have a nice mount for tubing for those with a cage, but if you are running a roll bar then you need to clear your seat enough to rotate to grasp it.

I mounted mine on a crossmember in front of the driver's seat. Easy to grab in the heat of battle. Just order two of the brackets. I mounted them to a strip of aluminum that was, in turn, riveted to the crossmember.
