Croc Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 I will start a new thread for photos and will post here over the coming days. People are starting to trickle in. Graham and Tom are here - just dropping their trailers off and checking into hotels. I am just hanging out in the garage watching the donors…sorry…riders on their bikes. Predictably, 3 laps into the session and it is another red flag and ambulance to pick up the wounded. Paul and Jay are on their way - photo from the Garden State Parkway rest area. Off to gather the kit I need for tomorrow. 1
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 People are still arriving. Jay arrived safely. After dinner we staked out our spaces in the garage so those arriving tomorrow can join us. Later arrivals can fit into the spaces we have so we can all hang out together. 8 cars here so far. Rest arrive tomorrow morning. Schedule is 7am for breakfast. 7.30 tech inspection. 8.30 drivers briefing. First cars on track at 9am. Sevens head out around 10:15am. 1
Vovchandr Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Thank you for the updates for those of us who couldn't make it. This almost feels the void. Almost. 1
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 You should always start the track day off with a hearty hot breakfast. All included for participants.
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Tech inspections and registrations done. Now just socializing before drivers briefing. 1
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Jim’s airborne bonnet from last year makes a reappearance. 1
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 This is not your normal track day. A Williams F1 car is running. A team was flown in from the UK to support the owner who is an NJMP Drivers Club member. Should be noisy in the garage today. 3
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 A photo guide of cars today. Simon’s 420R (currently). Tom’s 2.3L Cosworth Duratec SV Kevin’s Haynes Locost Jay’s Duratec SV Paul’s Duratec Birkin Jim’s Zetec Supersport. 1
Croc Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Roman’s WCM Ultralite Justin’s Zetec. Graham’s Honda powered Locost. Blakes Duratec powered Caterham. Croc’s Cosworth CSR John’s 2.3L Duratec Des’ pretty little cross flow.
JohnCh Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 She may be taking the whole add lightness thing a little too far... 1
yellowss7 Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 (edited) I quit after 4 runs. Diehards are doing the last one about now. The session after lunch was interesting 😱😱😱. They decided to let the open wheel group run with us because they had both of their earlier seasons cut short due to the F1 car spinning out and stalling in both sessions. The interesting part is that we didn’t know that and these guy’s weren’t waiting for pointbys. It certainly got you looking in the mirrors a lot more. Edited September 18, 2022 by yellowss7

If anybody was doing video of their runs that would be interesting to see later on.
Croc Posted September 19, 2022 Author Posted September 19, 2022 Brilliant dinner at Le Guacamole in Millville. Lots of laughs. Some excellent biting humor from @Boxologist who showed that he has not lost it. Don’t ask me to name everybody!!! 2

Bit late to share the information so went with the flow. The idea was to catch up time after a BMW had improved it’s front end styling from the rather polarizing new look - you know the one where it looks like you dipped ass cheeks in ink and backed up onto the front of the car - well anyway, it had taken too much kerb while cornering on turn 12 and then impacted the wall. It was not a bad idea as it got us back on schedule and it made everyone undertake a learning exercise in track awareness. Some of us needed that.

CBuff Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 It was really great to meet all of you yesterday and see all the 7s. Super helpful is flushing out the specs for my 420. Croc - Thank you for the invite and generous offer to take your csr for a spin. I look forward to living down the multiple stalls in front of the entire group. It might be a while. Will try and fill the waiting game until my 7 arrives with some more tracks days. Still lots to learn. Thank you all Charlie
